TADAP managed to have a healthy first week with collections of 20 crore nett plus. These are not huge collections but considering the film had newcomers with no face value and coming so soon post the pandemic where business for these type of small films is less, then this is a good performance.

TADAP was a film for the youth and that too the youth outside the big metros and this crowd came out especially over the first few days. The hold over the weekdays have also been pretty good. The big test is the second Friday but here all releases outside SOORYAVANSHI have found it very hard since cinemas reopened a few months back.  

The best business for the film has come in places like UP and MP and in the former, it has the best collections outside SOORYAVANSHI in most of the centres.

TADAP was steady on Tuesday with a minimal drop from Monday as it collected 2 crore nett on Tuesday taking its five day business to 17 crore nett. The film should cross the 20 crore nett mark in week one from here.

There could be drop on Wednesday though as this is what happened with ANTIM - THE FINAL TRUTH last week which saw good holds on Monday and Tuesday and looked set for a good run. But it dropped on Wednesday and again Friday to bring the film down. It remains to seen if TADAP has a better trajectory than ANTIM - THE FINAL TRUTH and gets over these hurdles..

The first week will still be decent even if the film drops as a 20 crore nett week is a healthy total for a non cast film.

TADAP saw a fair hold on Monday as it dropped 45% to collect in the 2-2.25 crore nett range. The business of the film held well outside the metros with Gujarat showing the best hold with a drop of 35%. This has taken the business of the film to 15-15.25 crore nett in four days.

These are reasonable collections for a non cast film and the hold on Monday could have been stronger which would have should real appreciation for the film. But still the hold is on the right side of 50% and so the film can run for 2-3 weeks.

The first week business will go to 20 crore nett and there will not be many films with new faces getting to this level. The best business for the film will be from Delhi/UP which has collected almost 3.50 crore nett till date. Mumbai could have done a little better for the film especially cities in Maharashtra but it is the cities in UP that lead.

TADAP collected well again on Saturday with 4 crore nett coming and taking its two day collections to 8 crore nett. The collections remain good for a film with new faces as these types generally struggle to get into the crores

The film managed to show good growth in places like Gujarat and the metros also went up but most places were flat and where the opening was better like UP, Bihar, CP, CI and Rajasthan, the collections went down.

TADAP is doing best in Delhi/UP thanks to the collections in UP state. This is the first time post the pandemic that Uttar Pradesh has outperformed. The likes of UP and Rajasthan should give the film a good boost.

The weekend looks likely to yield pretty good results as long as the Sunday growth comes but appreciation by the public for the film and the new talent in the film depends on what happens post the weekend.

TADAP had a decent first weekend of 13 crore nett considering it had no known faces. The collections are better than BUNTY AUR BABLI 2 and the four day weekend of SATYAMEVA JAYATE 2. The film opened pretty well on Friday as the college going youth crowd came for the film in many cities across India.

The Saturday business was pretty much expected as those opening centres were always likely to go down. The film got healthy growth on Sunday but the mass circuits on Sunday could have been more but this is probably because the family audiences in the Hindi belt would not be so keen on this type of film.

Delhi/UP is the best performing circuit with business of around 3 crore nett thanks to the business in the state of UP. East Punjab, West Bengal and Mysore have performed poorly while Mumbai, CP, CI Rajasthan, Nizam/Andhra and Bihar all have pretty decent numbers.

Overall the weekend numbers are fair and it remains to be seen where the film goes from here.
