SUPER 30 remains steady on Wednesday as it collected in the range of 6-6.25 crore nett. The drop was limited from Tuesday and this takes the business of the film to nearly 70 crore nett. The first week should edge past the 75 crore nett mark.

The second week should see metros hold up as that's where the film is doing best but it will face competition from THE LION KING which should be strong in the metros especially as the families and kids come out on Saturday and Sunday.

The film has so far grossed almost 22 crore nett in Mumbai while the collections in Delhi/UP are 14 crore nett apprx. The film is based in Bihar but that circuit is low 2 crore nett so far.

SUPER 30 has done good business in its first week of 75.50 crore nett. The film had a fair start but managed to pick up over the weekend and hold well on the weekdays. The holds are good on the weekdays but the numbers are less due to that not so great opening.

The film has performed best in South with numbers from Nizam/Andhra and Mysore beating higher than all India first week grossers like TOTAL DHAMAAL and KESARI. The performance is very similar to GULLY BOY without the extended first week and Valentines Day factor. Due to not having holiday and extended week it is a must that the second week is better than GULLY BOY to have a chance of becoming a HIT.

The film has tax exemptions in a couple of states but that hardly matters in the time of GST as you are only exempt from the state government side GST which will amount to half the GST being paid and this will be just 4% on some of the lower priced tickets. It hardly makes a difference to the bigger picture.

SUPER 30 was steady on Tuesday with collections of 6.50 crore nett which takes the five day business to almost 64 crore nett. The trend is good for the film and overall its a pretty good performance with the week going to 75 crore nett apprx and then the crucial second Friday.

The performance is very similar to GULLY BOY if we take out the Valentines Day factor for that film. The film has been appreciated a little less in the metros but a little more in the rest as compared to that film but that rest still cant be called good. Both films are about the under privileged in the country but that crowd has not taken to the films as its mainly an urban audience going for the films. The problem lies in the story telling of both films which is unable to give them the reach of the wider audience. But its not a surprise as GULLY BOY was from the director of ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA and Super 30 is from the director of QUEEN. Single screens for GULLY BOY and SUPER 30 have not performed at all.

SUPER 30 had a good hold on Monday as it collected 6.75-7 crore nett which takes its total to 57.50 crore nett in four days. The drop on Monday is around 40% which is better than normal but considering the huge Saturday growth, a better hold was expected.

This is the problem when a film does not open too well as on Monday you are going to drop from that not so great opening number and its a totally different scenario if you drop at the same rate after taking an initial. Still the 7 crore nett number will do for the film and its a successful film though has some work to do to emerge a HIT film.

The first week is probably heading for the 75 crore nett which is a good number and then the key is that Friday number as film must hold well on the second Friday. It will be huge plus if the weekdays can hold strongly at the 6-7 crore nett levels.

SUPER 30 has done good business in its first weekend with collections around 50 crore nett. The Sunday growth was limited but that was the case with all films playing and SUPER 30 was probably the one with the best Sunday growth of the lot. Also the Saturday growth was huge so that sometimes means that the next day is unable to push forward a lot.

The film is best in South with both Nizam/Andhra and Mysore comfortably crossing 3 crore nett making it the best film in these two circuits after BHARAT and KABIR SINGH for the first weekend. The Hindi belt had taken a slow start but picked up well on Saturday and showed good gains on Sunday. The likes of CP, CI managed to add 30-35% on Sunday.

The test for the film is Monday but as the film picked up all over on Saturday, it does give it a chance of a strong hold on Monday. The film will not do that well in single screens but multiplexes in the big twenty cities can score well over the next few weeks which will be good enough for this film.

The film has done far better than the last few films of Hrithik Roshan with its weekend business being almost as good as the lifetime of MOHENJO DARO and if it holds well over the weekdays, it could be close to KAABIL lifetime in a week.

SUPER 30 showed very strong growth on Saturday with an uptick of over 50% taking the Saturday business to around 18 crore nett. The growth came all over include the mass circuits which were very low on day one. A circuit like Rajasthan went from 53 lakhs to 72 lakhs which is excellent growth for that circuit.

The mass belts were up around 40% while a non performing multiplex circuit on day one like East Punjab went up around 70%. The best performance is in South and the film is sure to be a HIT in Nizam/Andhra and Mysore. The two day business is around 30 crore nett. So the film has chances of a 50 crore nett plus weekend which would mean the fifth or sixth biggest weekend of 2019 without any holiday factor which would be a good result.

The trend of the film is very similar to TOILET - EK PREM KATHA which from a 11.34 crore nett day one went to a 49 crore nett weekend. This film had an opening day which was 5% better and if that status quo remains, it will be a 51 crore nett weekend.

The growth generally is very strong this Saturday in the bigger centres as films like ARTICLE 15 and SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME which have a huge ratio coming from the metros are up 80-90% rather than the normal 60-65%. This is why the test for SUPER 30 will still be the hold over the weekdays.
