STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2 recorded average first week collections of around 55 crore nett. The film should have done better but its not too bad especially considering the reports were not encouraging. The film had a drop on Monday but has managed to stay afloat after that to give it a chance going into week two.

STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2 can be an AVERAGE fare at best but for that it still needs to some work and continue this middling run. It cannot afford to drop 60-70% from the Thursday. Ideally it should have done enough business in week one to be AVERAGE and then week two is to go higher but that's not the case here.

Its generally average business in most of the circuits with probably Nizam/Andhra lagging due to Ramadan and a big Telugu release. Tiger Shroff films do outperform in this circuit but this time it has not done well.

STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2 had a decent hold on Tuesday as the film had a limited rop from Monday. The film collected 4.75-5 crore nett on Tuesday taking its five day total close to 48 crore nett. The first week is heading for a 55 crore nett first week which is not good but its not that bad either.

It remains to be seen whether the film gets some follow through in the second week or does it capsize. If the film can sustain like Tuesday over the next two days then it would mean the film has actually sustained well over the weekdays despite the Monday drop. But normally films do have a more noticeable drop on one of the weekdays unless reports are strong.

There will DE DE PYAAR DE releasing on Friday (Thursday Evening previews) which is probably catering to the same audience as STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2 as far as circuits are concerned so that film could knock the collections of STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2 in places like Mumbai circuit.

STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2 dropped 55% on Monday which means it has dropped more than normal but a 5 crore nett plus total on Monday is still pretty decent and it depends if the can continue with these average collections into the second week.

The drop is mainly in Delhi and Punjab while other places have dropped less. The public has not really liked the film but the collections are just about hanging on and if the film sees a bigger than normal drop over next few days it may even struggle to do AVERAGE business.

AVENGERS: ENDGAME is covering the losses made on Sunday due to IPL final and elections but that is not the case of STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2 as the appreciation from the audience is missing. The film has collected 43 crore nett in four days and the week should go to around 55 crore nett and then its fate will depend on the second Friday.

STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2 got hit on Sunday from two sides with elections hitting its collections in Delhi and Haryana while IPL final meant it did not grow as much as it should have in other circuits. It collected in the 12.25-12.50 crore nett range on Sunday. The hit in the North was huge as East Punjab went from 1.25 crore nett on Saturday to just 84 lakhs on Sunday due to most of Haryana being shut.

It will be a similar scenario in Delhi/UP which will be down 80-85 lakhs due to elections. The other circuits were flat. If Gujarat grew on Sunday then Mumbai and Pune fell due to IPL to leave Mumbai circuit pretty much flat. The film was doing decent business and a normal Sunday would have given it an average weekend of around 41 crore nett plus but now it is less than 38 crore nett  which means a below average weekend. If the trend had been strong on Saturday then the film would probably not have any problems covering the Sunday shortfall over the weekdays but with an average trend it may not be able to cover the ground lost on Saturday.

STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2 is doing fair business as it collected 13.50-13.75 crore nett on day two giving it growth of around 15%. The collections and the trend is decent. The film needed the grow a little more on Saturday but then there would have been a fear of flat collections as places like CP, Bihar, Bihar, Assam and Odisha had some decent numbers when content was just not for these markets.

The above are the places to show drops on day two but not as bad as they could have been. The film has managed growth of over 20% in multiplex dominated circuits. Sunday should go up again but it will be affected by the IPL final. The film has 25 crore nett plus in two days so should get a week  in the 40 crore nett range. The film is a franchise but the first film was not a huge hit so the branding does not really come into play and also its only action or comedy films that can only really become franchises in India. It is probably hard to recall one outside these genres and if attempted outside of this genre they have usually failed but this film will probably get away with it.
