STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2 has finished its run with a six week run and will have a final total of a little under 65.75 crore nett. It has finished in the same range as STUDENT OF THE YEAR but that film was released seven years ago.

STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2 had a decent start but could not maintain collections as it added only 12 crore nett after the first week. If we compare the circuit numbers with STUDENT OF THE YEAR, then they are almost similar. Both films have same figures in Delhi/UP and East Punjab. The main difference is that STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2 has better figures in Gujarat, CP Berar, CI and Bihar while STUDENT OF THE YEAR is better in Mysore and West Bengal.

Both films are almost ditto in Mumbai city. The film grossed $2.25 million in overseas markets.

The film grossed around 3.50 crore nett in its fifth week and the its looking a lifetime total of 369-370 crore nett for the film and could go a little higher if it remains in the theaters post BHARAT.

STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2 had a big drop in collections in the second week with collections of 10 crore nett to take its total to 64 crore nett plus. The drop in the second week is 81%. The film had a decent first week with collections which of 54 crore nett which is not much different to the 56.75 crore nett of DE DE PYAAR DE this week which had far better reports as far as the city multiplex audience is concerned.

But the film could just not go on from the first week and now will not be able to reach the 70 crore nett mark. The film is in the black but that's the case with almost every single major film which can gets good satellite and digital value. The losses are pushed into the books of satellite and digital holders though with Tiger Shroff this film may get some ratings outside theatrical. Overall the film is BELOW AVERAGE.

STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2 continued its low second week run on Monday with collections of 1.15 crore nett. The drop is not much from the second Friday but that drop on the second Friday hit the film badly. the second week business is heading to around 9.75-10 crore nett and lifetime to around 66-67 crore nett.

STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2 dropped in the second weekend as it collected 6.25 crore nett. The collections are 80% plus down from the first weekend with similar drops all over. Mumbai circuit has done relatively better. The collections till date are 60 crore nett apprx and should go over the 65 crore nett mark but will not be able to reach 70 crore nett.

STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2 collected 2 crore nett apprx on its second Saturday and the growth was not what it should be after the drop on Friday. The growth was around 30% when films be it success or failures grow much more on the second Saturday. This could be as the audience came out for DE DE PYAAR DE on day two which was not the case on day one.

STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2 has performed better in Mumbai and some mass pockets but this limited growth probably means it will not reach 70 crore nett unless it the huge growth comes on Sunday. The film will get over the 60 crore nett mark over the weekend and should be able to cross the 64 crore nett of STUDENT OF THE YEAR (2012) but that was seven years ago and footfalls are far less.

STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2 dropped on day eight as it collected 1.50 crore nett. The film has seen an almost 60% drop which was always a possibility as the film did somehow hold up better than its reports over the weekdays of the first week.

Despite being a city romcom its holding up better in the mass circuits. Gujarat has helped Mumbai to touch a 60 lakh figure on its second Friday. Tiger Shroff has a solid pull in mass markets as a film which is urban in feel and look is holding better outside urban centres. The film may have done a little better outside Ramadan as likes of UP, Gujarat and Nizam would have been higher.

Overall the film will be an Average/Below Average affair depending on where the collections end. It should cross 65 crore nett but may not be able to reach 70 crore nett.

STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2 recorded average first week collections of around 55 crore nett. The film should have done better but its not too bad especially considering the reports were not encouraging. The film had a drop on Monday but has managed to stay afloat after that to give it a chance going into week two.

STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2 can be an AVERAGE fare at best but for that it still needs to some work and continue this middling run. It cannot afford to drop 60-70% from the Thursday. Ideally it should have done enough business in week one to be AVERAGE and then week two is to go higher but that's not the case here.

Its generally average business in most of the circuits with probably Nizam/Andhra lagging due to Ramadan and a big Telugu release. Tiger Shroff films do outperform in this circuit but this time it has not done well.

STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2 had a decent hold on Tuesday as the film had a limited rop from Monday. The film collected 4.75-5 crore nett on Tuesday taking its five day total close to 48 crore nett. The first week is heading for a 55 crore nett first week which is not good but its not that bad either.

It remains to be seen whether the film gets some follow through in the second week or does it capsize. If the film can sustain like Tuesday over the next two days then it would mean the film has actually sustained well over the weekdays despite the Monday drop. But normally films do have a more noticeable drop on one of the weekdays unless reports are strong.

There will DE DE PYAAR DE releasing on Friday (Thursday Evening previews) which is probably catering to the same audience as STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2 as far as circuits are concerned so that film could knock the collections of STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2 in places like Mumbai circuit.

STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2 dropped 55% on Monday which means it has dropped more than normal but a 5 crore nett plus total on Monday is still pretty decent and it depends if the can continue with these average collections into the second week.

The drop is mainly in Delhi and Punjab while other places have dropped less. The public has not really liked the film but the collections are just about hanging on and if the film sees a bigger than normal drop over next few days it may even struggle to do AVERAGE business.

AVENGERS: ENDGAME is covering the losses made on Sunday due to IPL final and elections but that is not the case of STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2 as the appreciation from the audience is missing. The film has collected 43 crore nett in four days and the week should go to around 55 crore nett and then its fate will depend on the second Friday.

STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2 got hit on Sunday from two sides with elections hitting its collections in Delhi and Haryana while IPL final meant it did not grow as much as it should have in other circuits. It collected in the 12.25-12.50 crore nett range on Sunday. The hit in the North was huge as East Punjab went from 1.25 crore nett on Saturday to just 84 lakhs on Sunday due to most of Haryana being shut.

It will be a similar scenario in Delhi/UP which will be down 80-85 lakhs due to elections. The other circuits were flat. If Gujarat grew on Sunday then Mumbai and Pune fell due to IPL to leave Mumbai circuit pretty much flat. The film was doing decent business and a normal Sunday would have given it an average weekend of around 41 crore nett plus but now it is less than 38 crore nett  which means a below average weekend. If the trend had been strong on Saturday then the film would probably not have any problems covering the Sunday shortfall over the weekdays but with an average trend it may not be able to cover the ground lost on Saturday.

STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2 is doing fair business as it collected 13.50-13.75 crore nett on day two giving it growth of around 15%. The collections and the trend is decent. The film needed the grow a little more on Saturday but then there would have been a fear of flat collections as places like CP, Bihar, Bihar, Assam and Odisha had some decent numbers when content was just not for these markets.

The above are the places to show drops on day two but not as bad as they could have been. The film has managed growth of over 20% in multiplex dominated circuits. Sunday should go up again but it will be affected by the IPL final. The film has 25 crore nett plus in two days so should get a week  in the 40 crore nett range. The film is a franchise but the first film was not a huge hit so the branding does not really come into play and also its only action or comedy films that can only really become franchises in India. It is probably hard to recall one outside these genres and if attempted outside of this genre they have usually failed but this film will probably get away with it.

STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2 collected a decent 11.75-12 crore nett on day one. The film did average business pretty much all over with Mumbai, CP Berar and Eastern India recording the best numbers. The collections are 50% less than Tiger Shroff's last film BAAGHI 2 but that is mainly due to the zone in which this film is in which caters mainly to the multiplex audience.

There are some circuits affected due to Ramadan like UP and Nizam/Andhra, the latter could also be due to a big Telugu film releasing in Andhra which has put up pretty good numbers. The first STUDENT OF THE YEAR film had  picked up 7.50 crore nett on day one in 2012 and this film has managed a wider reach than that film as collections in Hindi circuits are far more higher than a Mumbai city or Delhi city.

The film is going to be about the growth over the weekend and will have to improve around 20-30% on day one to get a good weekend result and a chance to hold on Monday.
