SRIKANTH managed to have another good week mainly thanks to the weekend which was helped by Cinema Lovers Day. The collections of the film fell post the weekend as it collected 4.50 crore nett in its fourth week taking it to 44 crore nett in four weeks.

The weekly trend is still good with a drop of just 45% week on week but it will be feeling the heat in week five due to the drop in weekday collections. There is likely to be a far bigger drop in five which probably means the film is likely to stay under the 50 crore nett mark.

The film has kept the box office afloat in May which has been a horrible month with hardly any films and SRIKANTH would have come across as huge relief to exhibitors which rely on Hindi content. The film has scored well in the bigger centers of Mumbai and NCR and surprisingly in Kolkata, it has sustained the best after a very slow start.

SRIKANTH had another good weekend of almost 3.50 crore nett with collections boosted by around 75 lakhs nett on the Friday due to the cheap rates which made a big difference. Otherwise, the collections would have been only 2.75 crore nett.

Basically, the weekend is showing a 35% drop which is better than last week even with a new release. But on fair value, the drop is more closer to 50% which will probably show up in the weekday collections and the collections will come down.

The film has almost 43 crore nett till date so far and it has done very well to get this far taking advantage of the weak period. However, now the collections will be much harder to come by as the film goes to lower levels and new films start coming.

SRIKANTH got advantage of Cinema Lovers Day as it comfortably went over 1 crore nett and collected around the 1.25 crore nett mark. The film has probably doubled its collections. If it was a normal day, it would have been around 60 lakhs nett or maybe even lower.

The film now stands at 40.50 crore nett and should manage a 3 crore nett plus weekend in its fourth week which will mean another good weekend. But the collections could be down over the weekdays due to the arrival of MR & MRS MAHI which has a similar target audience.

The 50 crore nett mark does look tough for the film due to the arrival of new films now but it remains to be seen how it goes over the next two weeks.

SRIKANTH put up a good total of 8.25 crore nett in week three dropping a little over 40% from the previous week. The film has a 39 crore nett total in three weeks and although it was probably looking at a bigger drop in week four due to new releases, that should be compensated somewhat due to the boost the film gets on Cinema Lovers Day (today).

The film will comfortably cross the 45 crore nett mark and it remains to be seen if it can cross the 50 crore nett mark. The dull period is sort of over now as there will be a flow of medium and small films starting this Friday though the biggest films in the next 3 months or so are from South with KALKI 2898 AD and PUSHPA 2.

BHAIYYA JI, which released last week, has not done well as it collects 7.25 crore nett. The business was best in Delhi/UP especially the UP stations but considering the film has that local flavour, it should have recorded much better collections in UP.

SRIKANTH collected around 80-85 lakhs nett on its third Monday which takes the film to 37 crore nett and its looking like the film will do a third week of 8-8.50 crore nett. The trend remains strong for the film although the third week hold will not be as good as the second week.

Still a 40% drop week on week is still pretty good and with Cinema Lovers Day expected on Friday, it should see another good hold in week four. As a result, 50 crore nett still remains a possibility. Cinema Lovers Day was a last minute cancellation in March as election issues were cited.

The new release this week BHAIYYA JI is heading for a 7.25 crore nett plus week as it saw around 75-80 lakhs nett come in on Monday after a 4.50 crore nett weekend.

SRIKANTH collected well in the third weekend with 5.25 crore nett which is a 37% drop from the second weekend which is a strong trend and this is despite the Sunday growth not coming this week maybe due to the IPL final as generally business looks to be hit on Sunday.

The film has 36 crore nett up on the board so far and should be close to 40 crore nett at the end of the week. Although there will be a new release MR & MRS MAHI with the same lead as SRIKANTH, it looks like it will be Cinema Day on Friday if all goes to plan. This itself should be enough to ensure a solid fourth week as on the Friday SRIKANTH should do very well going by past trends on cinema day.

The Hindi competition this week for SRIKANTH was BHAIYYA JI and SRIKANTH managed to collected better than that film. BHAIYYA JI collected around 1.15 crore on Friday, 1.50 crore nett on  Saturday and then around 1.75 crore nett on Sunday which gives the film almost 4.50 crore nett. The film had bulk of its collections from Delhi/UP with nearly 1.50 crore nett. Mumbai circuit was far less than Delhi/UP for the film due to the regional feel of the film.

SRIKANTH saw another strong hold on its third Friday as it collected 1.10 crore nett apprx. The figures are 15-20% down on the Thursday but that was a holiday in parts and if we take that out, the drop is hardly there. There was a big IPL match also which may have take out 5-10% and the biggest match is to come on Sunday.

The film should get some benefit of Delhi elections on Saturday as it will work like a holiday after the afternoon though collections are now just around 15 lakh from the city. The film now stands at over 32 crore nett; it looks pretty certain to earn at least 45 crore nett and above that will depend on where it lands next Friday with a new release.

There was a new release this week with BHAIYYA JI but that film could not provide much competition in the bigger multiplexes and as expected has collected less than the SRIKANTH at all the major chains. But it has some collections at independents and single screens and is playing at far more locations than SRIKANTH.

BHAIYYA JI will have figures around the 1 crore nett plus mark and pretty much similar to SRIKANTH with Delhi/UP having the bulk of the collections. The circuit could end up with around 35% or even a little more of the all India collections. The film is unlikely to have the huge Saturday growth and hence, it had to do better on day one.

SRIKANTH saw a good hold post its election boost as it collected 1.25 crore nett on its second Tuesday and this puts the film on course towards a HIT if the film can hold collections similar to this on its third Friday. The collections mainly fell in Mumbai on Tuesday as it had the election boost on Monday. The NCR and Punjab are was steady on Tuesday

The film is now looking at a second week of 13.50 crore nett which will take it over 30.50 crore nett in two weeks. Now, its about picking up 8-9 crore nett in week three which will take the film towards 50 crore nett or at least very close. If the film maintains over the next couple of weeks, it could end up with higher numbers than MAIDAAN

There was nothing expected post Eid until the main releases start in June but box office can never be predicted and this dullest period may actually come out with a HIT film though it has to get around the 50 crore nett mark.

SRIKANTH had a good second week at it collected almost 14 crore nett which is less than 20% down from the first week. The film got a bump up in collections on Monday due to elections in certain cities and then Thursday was another holiday for Buddha Purnima which gave it a little boost across many circuits.

The film now stands at a solid 31 crore nett after two weeks and if the third Friday holds well the film may well emerge a HIT as then its likely the film would be around or near that 40 crore nett mark by the end of the third week. It will also mean a shot at 50 crore nett.

The film faced competition yesterday as the Hollywood film FURIOSA: A MAD MAX SAGA released on Thursday but was pretty much unaffected. There is a Hindi release today with BHAIYYA JI which has had a pretty sizeable release for its face value but opening is very dull. The opening is a little better in UP and Bihar but when you have a localized film, then it should be opening far better in these pockets. Basically the film is not for multiplexes and has no face value for the single screens. Non cast films have to be made for multiplex audiences and that is pretty much what SRIKANTH is.

SRIKANTH is doing solid business in its second week as it benefited from elections in Mumbai and UP on Monday and collections were a little higher than the Friday. This has now taken the film to 27.50 crore nett in eleven days and the second week is in double digits already with three days left.

The film saw a good jump in Mumbai circuit on Monday as Mumbai city propelled the collections and was far better than Friday. The film now seems to be heeding for a comfortable 30 crore nett plus total in two weeks and 40 crore nett now looks a worst case scenario for the film.

The drop in the second week is going to be around 25% and if this trend holds or even if its 30% drop in week three, then the film is likely to emerge a HIT. It will be harder to do in week three but the film has continued to surprise in its run till date. The second Tuesday is also crucial as the elections look to have given a 30 lakhs apprx boost on Monday. As a result, Tuesday will see a drop.

SRIKANTH consolidated its second Friday number with good collection of 2.75 crore nett which takes the total collection of the film to 21.75 crore nett. There are a few smaller films which have got some sort of respectable numbers this year so far and SRIKANTH has crossed earnings of LAAPATAA LADIES in nine days. Its just a matter of time when it goes past the other two SWATANTRYA VEER SAVARKAR and MADGAON EXPRESS.

The difference between SRIKANTH and the others is that it has found appreciation with a more wider audience. It is not just doing business from a circuit or two or just the metros; there is some support from other places as well. The numbers from Punjab, Rajasthan, MP, etc cant be called good but they are far better than the other smaller films released this year.

The film still has legs and more importantly has time on its side with lack of new films to go to the 40 crore nett mark or higher.

SRIKANTH saw a good gain on its second Friday as collections went up around 15% as it collected 1.60-1.65 crore nett. This now sets up the film well for a good run over the the next month or so and the 40 crore nett mark becomes a realistic target.

The film had to consolidate this second Friday number with a big jump on Saturday but that should happen and the film is heading for a comfortable double digit number in week two. It could even end the second week with collections almost reaching the 30 crore nett mark. There will be elections in Mumbai on Monday which should help the film as there is a good contribution from the city for the film.

A 40 crore nett plus number will be a good result for the film and considering that MAIDAAN is yet to reach 50 crore mark and BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN is under 60 crore nett. These numbers make SRIKANTH will look even better. SRIKANTH has box office collections of around 19 crore nett till date.

SRIKANTH had a decent first week showing a good trend over the weekdays as collections held up well. The first week collections are 17.25 crore nett apprx but its more about what the film does from here on. The signs are good with the second Friday number are crucial as that will tell if the film can collect 20 crore nett or more post the first week.

The film has the advantage of this dull period with no significant release till May end and even there its not the type to affect a film which is running well. The flow starts mid June and hence, its a good four weeks to collect well. The first week compares will with similar films this year like MERRY CHRISTMAS, LAAPATAA LADIES, SWATANTRYA VEER SAVARKAR and MADGAON EXPRESS and is comfortably ahead of these films in first week.

The numbers are decent all over with Mumbai and Delhi/UP leading the way with 5.50 crore nett and 4.25 crore nett respectively. East Punjab is also pretty decent for a film like this as its one week business in the circuit is more than MADGAON EXPRESS and LAAPATAA LADIES. Its hard to say why the film has some decent numbers in places like Punjab and Rajasthan but it could be because the Hindi audience has nothing to watch in these places as holdovers are mainly collecting in metros.

SRIKANTH remained steady on Wednesday and seems to be setting itself up for a good second weekend. The collections on Wednesday were pretty much the same as Tuesday which means the Mon - Wed period is pretty much the same taking out the election boost on Monday in a few cities.

The film has collected almost 16 crore nett so far and the first week is looking at a 17.25 crore nett total. If the second Friday comes at around 1.50 crore nett or higher, which it should as there is no release, then this film can actually target the 40 crore nett mark.

It's business is pretty decent all over with mass markets also having some collections and far better than the likes of LAAPATAA LADIES, SWATANTRYA VEER SAVARKAR and MADGAON EXPRESS. Initially, the earnings are better than 12TH FAIL but that film maintained very well later on its run.

SRIKANTH held up well on Tuesday as it collected 1.50 crore nett and the hold is better than it looks as circuits like CI, Nizam/Andhra and parts of Maharashtra were boosted by elections on Monday. The film was going to lose 15-20 lakhs nett on Tuesday as election areas were higher than Friday.

Basically, the film has actually held at the same level as Monday in most of the circuits where it was a normal Monday and this now ensures a successful film which no one expected in this dull period. The very low expectations post the Eid releases makes the numbers look better.

It remains to be seen if the film can go up a little on Friday from Thursday and its very much possible as there is no release. If it can a jump, it does make a difference to the weekend total as Saturday growth will come from a higher number. The film has 14.50 crore nett so far in five days and should be over 17 crore nett for the week.

SRIKANTH has shown a good trend over the first weekend as Saturday grew well and Sunday has consolidated well with solid growth. The film showed a 25% jump on Sunday which is very good especially for a film which is more for the metros. There are elections at places on Monday and this could have helped in those centres as it sort of works like a holiday.

A circuit like Rajasthan has gone from 13 lakh on Saturday to 21 lakh on Sunday which is surprising for a film where the target audience is generally the metros. The film has done well in Mumbai and Delhi/East Punjab and the support from places like Rajasthan and West Bengal on Sunday is all a plus. It gives it good chance for a run over the next few weeks.

The weekend numbers of the film are 11 crore nett plus which compare well with the likes of 12TH FAIL and MADGAON EXPRESS which were both 6.50 and 7 crore nett respectively over their first weekends. A good hold on Monday will ensure a run and success for the film.

KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES did well in Nizam/Andhra and some of the other South markets but collections should have been better. The film has also collected 11 crore nett like SRIKANTH but this film has scored a better opening day.

SRIKANTH did well on Saturday as collections rose to 4 crore nett which is a solid jump of 75%. Not only the jump but 4 crore nett is a good collection for this film. The film stands at 6.25 crore nett after two days and its a comfortable double digit number for the weekend.

The film is dependent on what happens post the weekend but this sort of Saturday jump is a good sign for the film. Also, there will be elections on Monday in various parts of the country which normally works out well as its becomes a sort of holiday in the region where the public goes to the polls.

The numbers are pretty much respectable all over with even the likes of CP, CI doing decent enough numbers for a film like this which does not have much for the wider audience.

SRIKANTH and KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES have put up fair numbers and got the box office going a little this week when nothing much is expected till June. Both films have between them easily collected over 5 crore nett which means a decent Friday for the box office.

The collections of SRIKANTH will fall in the 2.25-2.50 crore nett range as the film will cross 2.25 crore nett but may just fall a little short of 2.50 crore nett. These are pretty decent numbers for the film which does not have much face value and limited commercial elements.

The lack of releases has played a part as there has been nothing new post the Eid releases and there will be audience wanting a trip to the theatres for a Hindi film and this is the only significant release in the last month or so. The numbers are comfortably ahead of films like MERRY CHRISTMAS and MADGAON EXPRESS and it has beaten KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES in most of the Hindi circuits with only some in the East which maybe lower.

There should be some good growth for the film on day two but the story of the film will depend on what unfolds post the weekend. This film picking up over 2.25 crore nett when MAIDAAN could only do 3.90 crore on national holiday will be seen as a positive within the industry due to expectations being very low due to what happened on Eid.

KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES has done good business in South India as it collected 3-3.25 crore nett. The film is very good in Nizam/Andhra as it collects almost 75 lakhs nett with the creature affect in play there. The business could have been better in the Hindi film belts but that generally Hollywood has found it tough going in these areas post pandemic. Not only Hollywood films but even Hindi films have found it tough.

The better numbers in South will make strong growth harder for this film though no doubt the likes of Mumbai and Delhi/UP will see growth on Saturday.
