Sikandar collects 100.25 cr in 19 days

Sikandar movie review: Salman, ab bas
Box Office India Trade Network

SIKANDAR collected a little under 1.75 crore nett in its second week which is an unthinkable collections for a big film. It has come after an extended twelve day first week but basically there are no collections for the film after the first week. The film stands at around 100 crore nett and that will be it for the film.

The film is lucky that it got released in Eid as that has probably added around 20-25 crore nett. It is also lucky that it released on Sunday; otherwise it would have been a dead duck by the time Eid came. The low numbers in Rajasthan and CI are a killer. These were core Salman Khan circuits before the pandemic.

SIKANDAR collected a little over 1 crore nett in its second weekend as the film crawls towards the 100 crore nett mark. The total collections of the film till date are a little short of 100 crore nett. The film has seen the type of crash that no other film has ever seen. The first three days had collected 70 crore nett and the film will be adding only 30 crore nett thereafter.

The film is lucky that it got released in Eid as that has probably added around 20-25 crore nett. It is also lucky that it released on Sunday otherwise it would have been a dead duck by the time Eid came. The low numbers in Rajasthan and CI are a killer. SIKANDAR dropped further at the start of its second week as it collected only 25 lakhs nett which takes its total to almost 99 crore nett. The collections in week two will be a total disaster as it may just be around 2 crore nett. Never has such a big film seen such low collections in the second week. It can be said its a huge extended first week of 12 days but still 2 crore nett second week is unthinkable at time of release.

The film is crawling to the 100 crore nett mark. The film is lucky that it got released in Eid as that has probably added around 20-25 crore nett. Sikandar Box Office Collection Day 12: Salman Khan's Film Earns Less Than A Crore
Box Office India Trade Network

SIKANDAR continues its dull business as it collected 1.40 crore nett on Tuesday which now takes the business to almost 97 crore nett. The film will have another day with collections over 1 crore nett on Wednesday but then collections will be a struggle due to a huge reduction of shows. The film is not going to reach 100 crore nett in its extended twelve day first week.

The second week collections are going to be simply horrible as its pretty certain to be under 5 crore nett and there will be not be many big films with numbers which are so low. Even if we take its coming after an extended first week, such low numbers are pretty unimaginable. No doubt the content is bad but its not just down to that as the bigger picture in terms of the number of people coming to cinema is an issue. A Salman Khan film on Eid will do just 55 lakh footfalls and unless its a small film, this should not be happening irrespective of the content.

The collections of SIKANDAR till date are as follows.

SIKANDAR collected a poor 98.50 crore nett in its extended twelve day first week. TIGER 3, which had a similar week, had done business of 202 crore in the same time frame and that was called an under performance at that time. But the SIKANDAR numbers should put those numbers into perspective. The collections saw a big drop on Thursday due to the release of JAAT.

The second week collections will not be much though it will reach the 100 crore nett mark.

The film will join the list of mega disasters like BOMBAY VELVET, ZERO, '83, LAAL SINGH CHADDHA, BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN and MAIDAAN. It is the first disaster of this level for Salman Khan but the disasters from the other Khans, ZERO and LAAL SINGH CHADDHA, were probably even bigger disasters.

Sikandar Box Office Collection Day 10: Salman Khan And Rashmika Mandanna's Film Sees A Dip
Box Office India Trade Network

SIKANDAR collected poorly over the weekend as it put up 10 crore nett struggling for growth on Saturday. It was Saturday when the Eid factor went out of collections everywhere and that was probably why the growth was minimal on Saturday. The film has a total of around 94 crore nett in eight days. The numbers have come mainly due to the Muslin centres doing well over Eid especially single screens but still the overall mass circuits have under performed due to multiplexes in main centers of CP, CI, Rajatshan, Bihar and Maharashtra not collecting well.

The film is still in its extended first week as it has a twelve day first week but it looks like it wont be able to hit the 100 crore nett matk in these twelve days. It will need collections in the second week to get to the 100 crore nett. The collections are very similar to KISI KA BHAI KISI KI JAAN over the first seven days and the end looks like being pretty similar also. The difference is costs as SIKANDAR is a more expensive film than KISI KA BHAI KISI KI JAAN.

The collections of SIKANDAR till date are as follows.
Sunday - 25,00,00,000 apprx
Monday - 27,00,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 3,25,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 4,00,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 93,75,00,000 apprx
------------------------------------
SIKANDAR recorded collections of 1.65 crore nett on Monday which is the ninth day for the film. This takes the film to 95.50 crore nett in nine days and the way the film has gone before the drop on Monday could have been worse. This is probably enough to ensure a 100 crore nett finsh but it means nothing as this total is hardly anything for this film. The drop is 40% from Friday and in this way its okay as Friday was still getting benefit from Eid. It would have been no surprise if the film collected 1.25 crore nett or less.

The number are going to end ditto to KISI KA BHAI KISI KI JAAN and circuits numbers will all be similar as well. The circuit numbers will also be similar as Mumbai does 30 crore nett and Delhi/UP does 25 crore nett. The little difference will come in smaller circuits like Odisha, Assam and Tamil Nadu/Kerala is a little better for SIKANDAR. But one East Punjab takes away all those gains as KISI KA BHAI KISI KI JAAN fared better in this region.

Sikandar Box Office Collection Day 4: Salman Khan's Film Sees Massive 50% Drop, Mints Rs 9.75 Crore
Box Office India Trade Network

SIKANDAR took a big hit on its fourth day as it collected 8.5 crore nett which is a drop of 55% from the previous day. The collections still have a an Eid leftover in them. Hence, there is a further drop to come. The total collections of the film are 79 crore nett till now and the collections until Thursday are likely to put up around 85 crore nett.

The film has extended first week of 12 days but its likely that the film will only see some collections for the first seven days which will be till Sunday. The film may have have 100 crore nett collections in the first seven days but that is not certain as a lot depends on whether the film can show an upturn on Saturday.

A problem for the film is the collections across the mass Hindi circuits which are just too low be it Gujarat, Rajasthan or CP, CI. UP may have spiked up on Eid but still its just a pick up and the collections were not even close to good. Compared to these circuits, the likes of Delhi NCR and Bangalore are better which should not be the case for a film like this which has been released on Eid.

Its another festive holiday down the drain and Eid has been horrible post the pandemic. Now one has to go back to BHARAT in 2019 for a better performance and even then that film did not live up to expectations with a close of nearly 200 crore nett.

The collections of SIKANDAR till date are as follows.
Sunday - 25,00,00,000 apprx
Monday - 27,00,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 18,50,00,000 apprx
Wednesday - 8,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 79,00,00,000
---------------------------------------------
SIKANDAR crashed further on Thursday with collections of 4.75 crorre nett. This is a drop of 45% after the film dropped after the film dropped 55% on Wednesday and there is a further drop to come as certain areas still remain elevated due to Eid. The circuit like East Punjab saw ridiculously low collections on Thursday but Delhi/UP was okay comparatively due to Eid leftover.

The film has almost 84 crore nett on the board after five days and its lucky the film released on Sunday as its unthinkable what would have happened with a Friday release as the story could have been over before the holiday period even started. Despite the film starting with a 25 crore opening day, the film is going to crawl to a 100 crore nett and it would be no surprise if the film does not reach 100 crore nett in the first same days.

A fate of the film is very similar to the likes of ZERO and '83 with similar cost (including remunerations) and the box office numbers will also come into a similar range. The film is a bigger flop than KISI KA BHAI KISI KI JAAN due to it being more costly and the biggest flop for Salman Khan since YUVVRAAJ in 2008.

The collections of SIKANDAR till date are as follows.
Sunday - 25,00,00,000 apprx
Monday - 27,00,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 18,50,00,000 apprx
Wednesday - 8,50,00,000 apprx
Thursday - 4,75,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 83,75,00,000 apprx
---------------------------------------------
SIKANDAR had another fall on day six as it collected 2.75 crore nett and still there is some Eid benefit in these collections to the tunes of 30-40 lakhs nett. On Eid, it is East Punjab which tells fair value as Eid is pretty much irrelevant here barring the national holiday and on that day, the collections should be around 2.40-2.50 crore nett.

The very minor positive is that while India dropped 40% there was a minor drop in East Punjab which means the film can have some growth on Saturday and Sunday though as Friday collections are a little higher than they should be, the growth will not be like it should on a Saturday. The Saturday should see normal collections everywhere though a few UP centers could remain better Sunday. No doubt Monday will see it a level playing field all over but there will be hardly be any collections. The collections of the film are 86.50 crore nett and it seems to be heading for a similar number to KISI KA BHAI KISI KI JAAN.

Sikandar Box Office Collection Day 3: Salman Khan And Rashmika Mandanna's Film Sees Sharp Drop After Eid, Earns Rs 19.5 Crore
Box Office India Trade Network

SIKANDAR collected 18.5 crore nett on its third day which was a partial holiday for Eid which enabled the collections to remain steady in parts of the country. The collections are mainly driven by the UP area which remained similar to the Eid holiday on Monday and this also enabled the Delhi/UP to hold collections at the first day level.

The last release for Salman Khan, TIGER 3, had collected 138 crore nett on a similar weekend with a Sunday start and at that time, this number was also looked at as if it was on the lower side which was not the case. The numbers were double of SIKANDAR; its another story that TIGER 3 was not appreciated but the initial was very good.

A circuit like East Punjab saw a huge drop as here, its a normal day after the national holiday for Eid. Eventually, other parts will come to the same level. The film will show big drops over the next few days but may get some respite over the weekend but Saturday may see limited upturn due to reports.

The three day number is 70.5 crore nett and its probably going to be the weekend when it reaches 100 crore nett unless the Eid areas hold up better than expected over the next two days. Mysore is a circuit that can be said to be doing okay mainly as these types do less there but the Hindi belt is awful.

The collections of SIKANDAR till date are as follows.
Sunday - 25,00,00,000
Monday - 27,00,00,000

Sikandar Review: Salman Khan's Film Is An All-Out Assault On All Things Logical
Box Office India Trade Network

SIKANDAR collected 27 crore nett on its second day which was a holiday for Eid but the film saw drops in collections in many places. But because of the Eid crowd, the film managed to show growth in its overall collections. This is mainly because of UP as the state showed huge improvement from the previous day and if we take the collections from the state only, then it would be double the previous day.

There is a drop in business in the national chains of around 10% while circuits like Gujarat and East Punjab are down around 25%. Delhi/UP jumped around 40-50% thanks to UP but there was a drop in the NCR belt. The South also made gains as both Nizam / Andhra and Mysore showed improvement from the first day.

The issue for the film is places like Rajasthan and CI, which are pretty much flat with limited growth, and these circuits should be going up by a margin on Eid day. The trend in these circuits means there is little hope in the long run. The Eid crowd will dwindle every day and the peak for this was Monday.

The film has put up a 52 crore nett in two days which is an average collection but these average numbers have come on Sunday and a national holiday. If it were normal days, the collections would have been poor and eventually the normal days will come and collections will come down heavily.

Its another big film going down on a big holiday release and its not the first time post the pandemic. SIKANDAR needs a miracle to even hit the average mark as collections on Tuesday need to be similar to the first two days which will not happen. Basically you cant afford to have middling collections on holidays with good numbers being the minimum requirement for a big film. SIKANDAR needed 100 crore nett in 3 days as a minimum with solid growth on Eid but its going to fall well short of that.

The collections of SIKANDAR till date are as follows.
Sunday - 25,00,00,000
Monday - 27,00,00,000
TOTAL - 52,00,00,000

Sikandar collects 25 cr on Day 1

Sikandar: Salman Khan to have larger-than-life action sequences in aircraft, train, jail and hospital
Box Office India Trade Network

SIKANDAR collected 25 crore nett on its first day which is a an average collection especially for a film with huge expectations. However, these expectations are misplaced as these are due to the star but its a changed a scenario today as there are limitations if the trailer or music cannot generate interest with the public. The film was never going to smash the box office but if it could have got to the 30 crore nett mark, it would have been a good collection. It just could not build up momentum be it in advances or the first day.

The film had huge potential in terms of release which was the biggest ever as it reached almost every cinema possible for a Hindi film but that does not matter much unless the public is there to come out.. The opening is the biggest of the year in most circuits even though the all India number is less than CHHAAVA due to the Maharashtra factor. But that also hardly matters as its Sunday release and hence, should have done better.

The performance of the film is a mixed bag with that core Hindi mass circuits not giving the collections as they should and collections being better in the likes of Mysore and West Bengal/Odisha which should not be the case with a film in this zone. Gujarat and the central belts saw lackluster collections. The NCR belt has done decent propelling Delhi/UP to a near 5 crore total despite a low UP due to Eid. UP should do well from Monday for 3-4 days at least especially the Muslim centres.

The opening day results are basically on the lines of DUNKI and FIGHTER but those films opened better in the bigger centres as the content had lesser mass appeal. Here with SIKANDAR also showing likes of Delhi NCR, Kolkata and Bangalore with better collections is an issue as the Hindi circuits should lead. It could be due to how Eid is playing out. So, time will tell but if Central and Western India does not do better, it will be a struggle for the film to even have half decent numbers.

The results are better than the last two Eids but again that's not saying much as it was KISI KA BHAI KISI KI JAAN in 2023 while BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN and MAIDAAN released on the festival in 2024.
