Things have not been picture perfect for Shraddha Kapoor. For around 10 days, peeved photographers were threatening to ban the actress for not smiling into their lenses on several occasion.
The matter was amicably resolved following a 30-minute meeting between the star and the paparazzi last Friday at a a Juhu resturant.
According to one of the lensmen present there, she said that what happened was unintentional.
She blames the 'misunderstanding' on lack of coordination on the sets of a promotional activity. "I was told to be ready by 1 pm and I was, 15 minutes before time. But the shoot was delayed due to some production hassles. I was waiting in my vanity van, impatiently, unaware that the lensmen were also waiting for hours, for me. Often, we actors have no idea when the media is called and this causes miscommunication," she sighs.
She insists that she would never have intentionally upset the photographers, some of whom are veterans whom she has been chatting with in Marathi since the Teen Patti days. "I was so happy to see them clicking me again at a filmmaker's party," she says.
The paparazzi culture is becoming more aggressive with each passing day, but Sharaddha has no complaints. "When you become a public figure you have to ready for the fact that people will take an inordinate interest in your personal life," she says. "But at the same time I think that certain lines should not be crossed. The personal space of actors should be respected too."
She's obviously referring to the times when she had emerged from an airport sans her sunny smile or been clicked on occasions with her head resolutely down. "If I'm wearing heels and negotiating potholes I would be silly not to look down while walking. "And if I'm returning from a hectic schedule, and am sleepy and tired, you can't expect me to be smiling. We may be public figures but we have our private moments too."

A press conference held for the film, Ek Villain, on Tuesday evening witnessed drama of another kind, as photographers refused to click images of lead actress, Shraddha Kapoor.
An eyewitness at the event says, “The entire star cast stood outside the venue to pose for a photograph but none of the lensmen clicked a picture. Riteish Deshmukh, who is known to be friends with the media, came up to the photographers and asked them why they weren’t taking photographs. He was then told that they all had decided to boycott photographing Shraddha Kapoor, owing to her unhealthy attitude towards them. Riteish then stepped back and went away.”
Later on, photographers were invited inside the hall at Sun N Sand but they refused to budge. Ek Villain’s director, Mohit Suri, as also Shraddha’s co-star, Sidharth Malhotra asked photographers about why they weren’t clicking any photos and the lensmen made it clear that they didn’t wish to photograph Shraddha. The actress and her manager then tried to reason with them. “She tried to make a conversation but no one spoke to her,” says the eyewitness.
A photographer present at the event says, “Shraddha has been treating us badly all along; she has never posed for photographs with us. Once she made us wait for three hours at a channel event and after that, she promised to pose for our cameras but didn’t keep her word. Recently at Sidharth Malhotra’s party too, she didn’t bother to pose for us. If she doesn’t care to be photographed, why should we click her at all?” In the end, photographers clicked Mohit, Riteish and Sidharth minus Shraddha.
