When the boss calls, you have to go! Bollywood stars too, it seems, can’t have it any other way. After missing director Mohit Suri’s success bash for her recently-released film, Half Girlfriend, Shraddha Kapoor, who headlines the romance-drama, had to cut short a family vacation to turn up for producer Ekta Kapoor’s party last night.

A source says, “Ekta is very fond of Shraddha and she personally requested her to be present for the celebration, which was held yesterday at her Juhu bungalow. Along with the cast and crew, several industry folk were present. Shraddha was supposed to return next week, but decided to fly down earlier to be a part of the celebration.”

The actress had taken off to Seychelles with parents Shakti and Shivangi, and brother Siddharth on Sunday. The family has been soaking in the sun and indulging in snorkeling and scuba diving, sharing their shenanigans on social media. Shraddha will now dive into a three-month intensive badminton training schedule for her portrayal as Saina Nehwal in an upcoming biopic.

Mirror had earlier reported (May 22) that Shraddha Kapoor has taken off to Seychelles with parents, Shakti and Shivangi, and brother Siddhanth for a much-needed eight-day getaway before she plunges into the Saina Nehwal biopic. And no one can be happier than Shakti Kapoor, who often grouses that their busy schedules leave them with little time for each other.

In the rainbow nation, the Kapoors took a city tour on Monday before hitting the beaches. “Shraddha and Sid love snorkelling, they are in the water for almost four hours a day. Now my wife and I have learnt it, so we can go into the ocean together,” Shakti told Mirror.

They have also been gorging on the best sea food in local restaurants. “Sid had always wanted to go to Seychelles so we decided to oblige him,” he chuckles.

Alia as a child
As a baby, when she learned to talk, her first word was ‘baba’ — whatever that meant. She called me baba and her father baba and her sister Tanna. Alia was a very shaant (calm) and placid child with a serene nature. She always seemed to be happy.

As a student
She loved school, she loved interacting with people and was a very sporty kid. She loved playing tennis and squash and also, swimming. Later on, she seemed to breeze through without studying madly because she has a photographic memory. She always had lots of friends.

Unchanged
One thing that hasn’t changed in Alia from childhood is that she’s always been very sweet-natured, then and now. She will do as instructed without much fuss. Of course not now because she is independent and thinks for herself. But if I tell her to do this or that for her health, she complies always. She is conscientious that way.

As parents
As parents, she is close to both my husband and me for different things but where confiding is concerned, she’s mostly very self-sufficient and hardly needs to discuss things much. When it came to pampering my children and being strict with them, I have to say, I was basically their mother and father for many years because my husband was always busy. Till very recently, actually. Hopefully, I managed a balance. When he was around Mahesh was helpful in the big issues. He was very helpful in managing crises.

Bad habits
It’s really tough to think of one. I would say she keeps her problems to herself and doesn’t share her pain. And sometimes I feel she should.

Unforgettable
Once she got lost in Seychelles where we were shooting. I had taken my mom along to help me look after her. I was busy — and she slipped away from my mother’s gaze. The hotel was huge with big grounds and we were panicking thinking she may have fallen into the swimming pool. But finally we found her in the hotel shop chatting away to the shop staff happily. She was two at the time. It was the most stressful 20 minutes of my life. Ever.

Always a child
They say, a child always remains a child in her parents’ eyes. It’s true because it’s difficult to imagine that they will manage at all. But one has to learn and I have to let them learn. Also, since Alia is so busy she hardly has the time to figure things out so hence will need me to help more than usual and is probably grateful that I am around to help.

They may be one of the most active celeb couples on the social media but Khiladi Kumar and his Mrs Funnybones are fiercely private about their family holidays. In the summer of 2015, they took off to the South of France, hopping from Antibes and Nice to Saint Tropez and Provence without the media getting even a whisper. This March, Twinkle and the kids, Aarav and Nitara, were on a nature trail in Dehradun with aunt Rinke Khanna and no one knew. In June, Akki and Twinkle flew out to Switzerland with friends Gayatri and Vicky Oberoi, followed by a week-long New York sojourn in July, far from the prying eyes.

On Wednesday, the family boarded a private jet from Mumbai and landed in Victoria, Seychelles. On the itinerary is Comoros, Mayotte, Madagascar and Mauritius in the south before they return to the Bay towards the month-end. The filmi family's vacation has come as a shot in the arm for the island country's tourism board. The South African ministry has been on a mission to woo more Bollywood filmmakers for shoots after they launched direct flights between Mumbai and the archipelago once mid-week and twice on weekends. The Kumars were welcomed with exotic drinks, garlands and a staff at their beck and call.

Akshay who is on a break from the shooting of his upcoming drama, Jolly LLB 2, will ring in his 49th birthday with his loved ones, a gluten-free cake and a family spa. "They've booked a sea-facing villa at a plush resort in Seychelles with an infinity pool, organic menu on order, a gym and gaming rooms. The trip was planned months in advance with the couple ready to take off soon after the release of Rustom. Akshay and Aarav hope to indulge in adventure sports like snorkelling and cliff diving while Twinkle plans to read and sunbathe," a source close to the couple informed Mirror.

We have learnt from confirmed sources that Kunal Kapoor and Naina Bachchan married each other last night in a very private way in the presence of their family at the idyliic island of Seychelles. We learnt that they had a beach ceremony. They had also got engaged earlier in a very private way and thus this comes as no surprise. We learnt that they were introduced to each other by Naina's first cousin, the lovely Shweta Bachchan Nanda and we believe that they are likely to host a reception in Delhi when they return. Wishing Kunal and Naina a happy married life.
