Salman Khan set to record a single after wrapping Battle Of Galwan, says producer Anshul Garg

A recording studio is not unfamiliar to Salman Khan, who has lent his voice to several film songs. Now, if things go as planned by music producer Anshul Garg, the superstar will soon go behind the mic for a single. The entrepreneur, who owns the label Play DMF, told mid-day that Khan intends to record a single as soon as he wraps up Battle Of Galwan’s shoot.
“We have been in talks to record a single for some time, but right now Salman bhai is busy with many projects. He has loved a couple of songs, which I have composed. When he chooses the song and is ready to record it, he will call me,” said the music producer.
In the past few years, Garg collaborated with many international musicians, from Moroccan singer Saad Lamjarred for Guli Mata to French singer Tayc for Yimmy Yimmy. One collaboration that had hit headlines was with Selena Gomez. The two were to team up for a fusion song in 2024, but it didn’t materialize.
Asked what went wrong, Garg shared, “We shortlisted the song and she dubbed for it. But when the news of our collaboration came out, her management team was upset about it. There are certain contractual things that we need to follow. That is on hold.”
He is now looking forward to the release of his first film production Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, starring Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa. “I want to produce musicals, and this film has eight songs. The love story is intense.”
Jacqueline Fernandez to team up with Selena Gomez for a single?

When a photo of actor Jacqueliene Fernandez along with singer-actor Selena Gomez was shared last year in September, it left people wondering, ‘How did they meet?’ Their individual fan bases were also hopeful that the two of them might have a surprise in store. Now, we’ve exclusively learnt that Fernandez and Gomez will feature together in a music video.
An industry source tells us, “Jacqueliene and Selena are both big stars in their respective industries and them coming together will be a huge collaboration. They are teaming up for a single, and both of them will feature in the song’s video. Jacqueliene will also co-produce it.”
The source adds that the video will be shot overseas. Recently, Fernandez collaborated with French singer Tayc for the song Yimmy Yimmy. She was last seen in the Ranveer Singh-starrer Cirkus (2022) and will next be seen in Welcome to the Jungle.

If B-Town stars have made their presence felt in the West, Bollywood too has welcomed several international musicians into its fold. After Akon, Kylie Minogue, and more recently, Diplo lent their voices to songs that went on to become chartbusters, pop queen Selena Gomez is the latest to have evinced interest in exploring opportunities in Hindi cinema.
Speaking to mid-day, the youth icon reveals that her passion for music has her following the works of several Indian artistes. "I have been following few musicians in India and I believe they are wonderful," she says, quick to add that she finds the work of A R Rahman most compelling. An admirer of his compositions that seamlessly blend Western music with Indian ragas, Gomez, 25, says a collaboration with the maestro is on her wish list. "I like A R Rahman's work. He is a global figure today. I would love to sing or be part of his compositions. I think it would be beautiful to sing for [a] Bollywood [movie]."
Having recently been part of the voice cast of Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation that hits theatres today, Gomez says it is her love for animated movies that made her greenlight the project. "I would be hooked to cartoons as a child." She adds that lending her voice to the character of Mavis was not a cakewalk. "I found it fascinating to modulate my voice according to the part."

Priyanka Chopra has lent her voice to the feature film Girl Rising directed by Oscar nominated director, Richard E Robbins. The actress has provided a voice-over in English and Hindi for the film which highlights nine stories of young women from around the world who have used education to rise above poverty and adversity.
While the Indian story features PeeCee's voice, the film also has voiceovers by Academy Award winning actress Anne Hathaway and pop star Selena Gomez.
A source told Mirror, “Though Priyanka is a globe trekker, she dubbed this movie in India. She saw portions of the documentary and was moved by the stories.”
The Indian story has been written by Sooni Taraporevala, the award winning screenwriter of films like Mississipi Masala and Salaam Bombay.
The source added, “Priyanka has seen the Indian story many times now. She has told her friends to see the film whenever they get the opportunity.”
