MERI PYAARI BINDU had a poor first week as it grossed 9.25 crore nett. The film started poorly and that was it as it could not pick up much on Saturday. This Rom-Com genre is a struggle today and can probably only survive with the top youth stars of the day and super hit music and none of this was in MERI PYAARI BINDU.

It has limited shows in its second week with metro multiplexes giving it a show or two and this may take the lifetime business to around 10 crore nett. The film had SARKAR 3 for competition and had to contend with BAAHUBALI 2 and although that would have affected a little, it is not the reason for its failure.

SARKAR 3 fared very poorly as it also grossed 9.25 crore nett over its first week. The film was right off from day one as its collections were not much better than MERI PYAARI BINDU despite having double the screens. The cinema was passe and that has reflected in the collections and lifetime could be less than MERI PYAARI BINDU.

The Punjabi film LAHORIYE has emerged a HIT with first week collections of 7.25 crore nett plus across India. The lifetime collections of this film will beat both MERI PYAARI BINDU and SARKAR despite being released on just 225 odd screens.

MERI PYAARI BINDU went down on Monday as it fell more than 50%. After the weekend business the film was not going anywhere but still the Monday fall is big as it hardly had any collections to begin with. The film has decent recoveries from satellite and digital so producers will be okay but it will fail on television and more importantly its a big minus on the actors in the film. SARKAR 3 was even worse than MERI PYAARI BINDU with a bigger fall on Monday. The film is a big flop and the only thing is to see which film gets better lifetime collections. Its likely that MERI PYAARI BINDU may edge that battle also as it might get some second week collections while SARKAR 3 will be out. The first four day numbers of SARKAR 3 are as follows.

MERI PYAARI BINDU had a low weekend and the trend was pretty flat. It managed some growth on Saturday but that was mainly because the film was very metro centric and Delhi NCR and Mumbai city always grow well on Saturday. The BAAHUBALI 2 craze has affected the film a little but not enough that it would have succeeded if BAAHUBALI 2 was not there. SARKAR 3 had hardly any business and no trend over the weekend.
