Film version of Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai shot in 20 days; Ravi Kishan, Mukesh Tiwari join cast

Popular sitcom Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai! is making its way to the big screen. HT City has exclusively learnt that while the main cast — Shubhangi Atre, Rohitashv Gour and Aasif Sheikh — will return, new faces like Ravi Kishan, Mukesh Tiwari, and Brijendra Kala will also be part of the film.
The film was shot entirely in Mussoorie and Dehradun — in 20 days! We reached out to Shubhangi, who plays the role of Angoori Bhabhi confirmed the quick shoot and joked, “We should be in the Guinness Records!”
She further shared, “Bohot thand mein shooting ki humne. It was exciting, and the shoot was completed in March. It’s a complete laughter ride!”
Will there be any change in the treatment of her character in the film? “Angoori kuch alag karti hui dikhegi. It is a surprise for the fans. The love they have given to the show, I hope they give to the film as well! Bohot dil se banayi hui film hai!” Shubhangi says.
She has announced her exit from the TV show after 10 years, saying, “I have lived and loved this character with all my heart, but now it is time to move on.” Her final appearance will be next week.

One of the longest-running TV comedy dailies, Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai! is set to be made into a feature film.
Actor Rohitashv Gour (who portrays Manmohan Tiwari) confirms the news, saying, “Ji, wakayi yeh sach hai! We are super excited, as actors we all dream to see ourselves back on the silver screen and it’s happening. It’s like a dream come true.”
“It’s because of our fans’ love that we are getting to be part of such a huge leap. I joined the show much later but today it’s my family,” says actor Vidisha Srivastava (who portrays Anita Mishra) adding, “The essence of the show will remain, and we promise bahut saara dhamaal for the audience.”
A source from the production unit shares that the star cast will include Rohitashv and Vidisha, Aasif Sheikh (who plays Vibhuti Narayan Mishra), and Shubhangi Atre (Angoori Tiwari) alongside other characters who have been part of the show’s success. The film, which will be directed by Shashank Bali, will be released this year. Shooting will commence from March 15 in Dehradun (Uttarakhand) in a start-to-finish schedule.
The show has been running for 10 years in the prime-time slot, having aired over 2,500 episodes.
Mithilesh Chaturvedi dies of cardiac arrest at 67

Lucknow: Actor Mithilesh Chaturvedi, who played key character roles in several films and web series, including the role of lawyer Ram Jethmalani in ‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story’, passed away in Mumbai on Thursday. He was 67.
The Lucknow-born actor suffered a cardiac arrest 10 days ago and was under treatment at Kokilaben Hospital.
Chaturvedi worked with the UP Registrar Firms and Societies in Lucknow, but quit the job to try his luck in Bollywood in the late 1990s. Starting his career with ‘Bhai Bhai’ in 1997, he made a mark with Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Satya’. He went on to act in hits like ‘Koi Mil Gaya’, ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’, ‘Krrish’ and ‘Bunty Aur Babli’. He was also associated with several theatre groups in Lucknow.
The news about his demise was broken by his son-in-law Ashish who posted a message on Facebook. Soon, condolences poured in from around the country with friends and colleagues describing his death as an “unbearable loss”.
Director Hansal Mehta, who worked with Chaturvedi in ‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story’, was among the first to mourn Chaturvedi. Actor Delnaaz Irani tweeted, “Sad to hear about the passing of Mithilesh Chaturvedi ji. Such an amazing actor with such great roles he portrayed. My deepest condolences to his family. ”
Writer-director Anees Bazmee said, “Really not able to take this in. Spoke to him a couple of days back and now I see this! Really sad to lose such a gem who was a delight to work and spend time with. My heart goes out to the family. May your soul rest in peace Mithilesh bhai.”
Theatre doyen and Chaturvedi’s friend Surya Kumar Kulshreshtra said, “He was always cheerful, but when it came to theatre, he was quite serious and lived the character given to him.”

Mithilesh Chaturvedi, best known for his roles in films such as Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, Koi Mil Gaya, Krrish, Gulabo Sitabo and TV shows like Neeli Chatri Waale and Kayamath, among others, died on Thursday morning due to cardiac arrest.
Mithilesh was also seen in the show Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai. His co-actor from the show, Rohitashv Gour said, “We got to know each other well while working on Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai. It was a good experience working with him. Mithilesh had come to Mumbai from a small town and one could see that he had not for gotten his roots. He was still a person who would get emotional over little things. He would think from his heart. Woh apne dil se sochta tha, dimag se nahi...that was his best quality. Sometimes we used to tell him not to get so emotional and take every thing so seriously. I am glad we could work together on the show. He was a good soul.”
Hansal Mehta was one of the first from the film industry to pay tribute to the actor. “RIP Mithilesh ji”, the filmmaker, who collaborated with Chaturvedi on the series Scam 1992, posted on Instagram. — Inputs by Hasti Doshi

Veteran film and theatre actor Mithilesh Chaturvedi, who has starred in films such as Satya (1998)and Koi Mil Gaya (2003), died on Thursday morning due to cardiac arrest, a family member said.
The 68-year-old suffered a cardiac arrest ten days ago and was admitted to Kokilaben Dhiruben Ambani hospital in Mumbai.
“He was admitted to the hospital for eight to ten days as he suffered a cardiac arrest. He had breathing issues and was undergoing treatment. He passed away [on Thursday] at 4am due to cardiac arrest,” said his son-in-law Ashish Chaturvedi.
The Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story fame actor has delivered some memorable performances in films such as Taal (1999), Fiza (2000), Asoka, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (both 2001), Bunty Aur Babli (2005), Krrish (2006), Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani (2009), Ready (2011) and Gulabo Sitabo (2020).
Filmmaker Hansal Mehta was one of the first members from the film industry to pay tribute to the actor. “RIP Mithilesh ji”, the filmmaker, who collaborated with Chaturvedi for the web series Scam 1992, posted on his Instagram handle.
The official Twitter handle of Cine and TV Artistes Association (CINTAA) posted, “CINTAA expresses its condolences on the demise of Mithilesh Chaturvedi.”
Chaturvedi’s last rites were held on Thursday evening at a crematorium in Versova, Mumbai. The actor is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son.

The actor was playing cricket on Saturday morning when he collapsed

The sudden death of Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai actor, Deepesh Bhan, has shocked the television industry. The 41-year-old actor breathed his last yesterday. He was playing cricket near his home when he collapsed and was rushed to a hospital. His co-actors from the show, who were supposed to shoot with him later in the day, say that they are unable to come to terms with his sudden demise.
His co-actor Charrul Malik said, “I had met him on Friday, and he was fine. We even made a few reels together. I have known him for the last eight years, and he was closest to me on the sets. We used to eat our food together. I just can’t believe this. Apart from being a talented actor, he was a great human being too. We have lost an amazing human and an actor.” Deepesh played the role of Malkhan on the show and was known for his comic timing.
Rohitashv Gour, who was among the cast members scheduled to shoot with Deepesh yesterday, said, “Our call time for the show was a little late yesterday. So, I think after his gym, he went to a ground to play cricket. It was a part of his fitness routine. But while playing the sport, he suddenly collapsed and fell. This is a big shock for all of us. He led a healthy lifestyle and was a fitness enthusiast. I don’t know how to express what I am feeling right now.”
The actor was also seen in shows like May I Come in Madam? and Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.
The producers of the show, Benaifer Kohli and Sanjay Kohli shared, “We are deeply saddened and shocked by the sudden demise of our beloved Deepesh Bhan. He was one of the most dedicated actors in Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai and like our family. He will be deeply missed by all. Our heartfelt condolences to his family. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”

Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai actor Deepesh Bhan passed away on Saturday morning while playing cricket at 43. His co-star, veteran actor Aasif Sheikh revealed to us that Bhan suffered a brain haemorrhage.
As per Sheikh, Bhan went to the gym at 7 am and stopped to play cricket in his building’s compound in Mumbai “He bowled an over, got down to get the ball, got up, swayed for while and fell down. He never got up,” Sheikh shares. He was announced dead on arrival at the hospital. “There was blood coming out of his eyes, it’s a clear sign of brain haemorrhage, the doctor said,” Sheikh adds.
Talking about her bond with Bhan, showrunner Benaifer Kohli says, “He was sensitive. I was like a mother (to him). He was my favourite and was with us for the last 17 years. I still cannot believe he’s gone.”
Bhan is survived by his wife and an eighteen-month-old son.
