Mumbai: Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has acquired a land parcel in Ayodhya for Rs 3.31 crore, amid rising investor interest in the temple town’s real estate market.

The transaction involves a 2,134 sq ft land parcel in the 75-acre plotted development project located on the banks of the Sarayu river in Ayodhya.

Kapoor’s investment comes as Ayodhya witnesses increased real estate activity following large-scale infrastructure development and a surge in tourism after the Ram temple inauguration. The project includes a 5-acre vegetarian luxury hotel to be operated by The Leela.

He has bought the land parcel directly from the project’s developer The House of Abhinandan Lodha.

“I believe Ayodhya has chosen me, and I have just answered this calling. Ayodhya is deep rooted in our history and is a critical part of our cultural fabric. This land at The Sarayu became my gateway to ensuring this becomes a part of my legacy for my family,” Kapoor said.

Abhinandan Lodha, chairman of the House of Abhinandan Lodha, said Ayodhya is witnessing long-term growth driven by infrastructure, tourism and increasing investor attention.

According to the company, Ayodhya has received public and allied investments of more than Rs 85,000 crore over the last few years across roads, railways, airport connectivity and urban infrastructure.

The city attracted around 16 crore visitors in 2024 and is projected to receive up to 28 crore annual visitors by 2030.

Founded in 2020, the House of Abhinandan Lodha said it has sold over 13 million sq ft of developed land and currently has around 25 million sq ft under active development across five states.

She was estimated to possess a valuation of Rs. 517 crore. Sources report, Alia currently charges Rs. 15-18 crore for a project. In terms of personal assets, the 29-year-old owns a bungalow worth Rs. 32 crore in Bandra, Mumbai, and has a production house, Eternal Sunshine Productions.

The Kapoor scion, son of actor Neetu Kapoor and late actor Rishi Kapoor, comes from a wealthy family, and his net worth alone, according to Duff and Phelps, is Rs. 203 crore.

He is said to charge around Rs. 50 crore per film. Despite his mantra of not using social media and starring in fewer films, brands flock to him and he caters to a wide range of audiences via OPPO, Tata AIG, Coca-Cola and Oreo.

Vastu, the lavish home in Pali Hill, Mumbai, where the pair got married is owned by Ranbir and valued at Rs. 35 crore.

Trade analyst Komal Nahta feels Alia’s net worth might be more than Ranbir’s, but popularity-wise, they stand equal. He adds, “They are in demand, doing top films. Brahmastra is one of the costliest films (Rs. 500 crore) ever made in Bollywood.” Adarsh feels they are fit to be called a power couple. “When you are that, you command a particular price. There is curiosity about seeing them together, so it [fee] increases manifolds,” he says.

However, ad man Prahlad Kakar differs: “There is no hype around people after they get married. See actors Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, for instance. A hike can only happen in the case of films.”

Are they? Are they not? There is no denying that the rumoured wedding of actor-couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt is the talk of the town! Though their near and dear ones remain in denial mode and tight-lipped, the dates, venue, guest list, bachelor party and just about everything related to them are making the rounds.

According to reports, the wedding festivities are happening between April 13 and 18. The venue, it seems, is Vastu, which is Kapoor’s Bandra home. And according to our sources, a team of bouncers from Mumbai has done the recce for the security arrangements too.

More reports suggest that the guest list has been finalised not just for the wedding but Kapoor’s bachelor party as well, with filmmaker Ayan Mukerji and actor Aditya Roy Kapur as confirmed attendees.

The rumoured groom-to-be is apparently inviting his make up artists, assistants and spot boys to the wedding.

Moreover, the sources also hinted at how the duo had sped up and wrapped up the shoot for their magnum opus, Brahmastra, in Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), only because they wanted to oversee all the wedding prep personally.

“I have no clue about any such rumours,” is what Bhatt’s best friend, Akansha Ranjan, has to say about all these developments. And as for Kapoor’s uncle, Randhir, he tells us, “I have been unwell and was in Pune. If there was a wedding happening in the house, and that too, so soon, I’d have definitely got to know.”

Soni Razdan, Bhatt’s mother, answered our call, and when we told her where we were calling from, she politely replied, “I am putting down the call.”

There's a major 'shift' happening in Bollywood, especially among young stars. Over the past two years, several actors have changed their addresses. Very soon, a few more names will get added to the list.
For example, Alia Bhatt has recently moved out of her parents' home and shifted into a swanky apartment, along with elder sister Shaheen. As soon as he finds some time off from his busy schedule, Varun Dhawan will move into a flat in the same building as his parents in Juhu. Sushant Singh Rajput's new bachelor pad, we hear, is quirky, quiet and tastefully done up. Ranbir is also in the process of doing up his new home. Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra, we hear, is busy scouting homes in America, since hers might be a long stay off shores.

RANBIR KAPOOR
The Kapoor boy moved out of his parents' Pali Hill bungalow, Krishnaraj, into a sea-facing duplex at Silver Sands Building on Carter Road (Bandra), along with his then girlfriend Katrina Kaif. However, after their break-up, he abandoned their love-nest to find solace in an apartment owned by his parents in a building called Wits End on Hill Road (Bandra). When Rishi and Neetu Kapoor moved in after Krishnaraj was razed, Ranbir shifted to his grandmother Krishna Raj Kapoor's house at Deonar. Soon, he'll move into his bachelor pad in a building called Vastu, which is a few minutes away from where Krishnaraj stood. Even that is likely to be a temporary arrangement. It's widely believed that when Krishnaraj is ready for occupancy, he'll go back home to mom and dad.


PARINEETI CHOPRA
Parineeti started searching for her dream home in 2014. After checking out over a dozen properties across the length and breadth of the city, she finally opted for a spacious sea-facing flat at Quantum Park, off Carter Road, in 2015. Before moving into the flat, located in the same building as Preity Zinta's, she had occupied homes on rent in Andheri. But when shooting in Andheri and nearby areas, she shifts to a rented place in the locality.


HRITHIK ROSHAN
Soon after his divorce from Sussanne Khan, Hrithik moved out of his parents' home at El Palazzo in Juhu. He is currently staying at Prime Beach Apartments, a few minutes away from where Rakesh and Pinky Roshan live. The beach-facing house, which was under renovation for more than a year, was done up in parts by John Abraham's architect brother and an American firm.


SHAHID KAPOOR
The actor had been house-hunting for more than a year before he finalised a flat at Praneta building in Juhu. It's spacious with a living room and sun-deck on the ground floor, and bedrooms and other private spaces underneath. Shahid, who was staying just a floor away from his father Pankaj Kapur in Versova's Raj Classique, moved into his swanky new pad in early 2015, a few months before he got married to Mira Rajput. While the current residence is no doubt Sasha's dream home, it is more than a mile away from where his dad resides.


ALIA BHATT
Alia has moved into her own flat recently. Located above a quaint coffee shop, it's just a few minutes away from her parents' (Soni Razdan and Mahesh Bhatt) Silver Beach Apartments home in Juhu. The house has been decorated by director Vikas Bahl's former wife Richa Dubey, with plenty of inputs from Soni. It was picked looking at the space and privacy issues faced by Alia at her parents' home.


PRIYANKA CHOPRA
PeeCee began to hunt for an independent home two years ago. The decision to move out of her parents' home in Raj Classique (Versova) came soon after her dad's demise. It took her a year to zero in on a home befitting her star status at Karmayog Apartments, Juhu. The building is tucked inside a quaint lane and offers a beautiful view of the city's landscape. However, the new house hasn't changed anything for the actress. Priyanka loves being around family. We hear, mommy, Dr Madhu Chopra often stays with her in the new pad. There are also reports of her looking for a home in the US, where she is currently shooting for a thriller series. Way to go!


SONAM KAPOOR
If everything goes as planned, Sonam could soon move into her plush duplex at Bandra Kurla Complex. The actress picked the unlikely location for privacy reasons. Signature Island, abode to the rich and famous, is located close to the American consulate, which keeps it away from prying eyes. The hitch: daddy Anil Kapoor is not too keen on his daughter leaving. Also, being a family girl, she might not want to leave the warmth of her parents' Juhu bungalow.


ANUSHKA SHARMA
Although she has a great-looking pad in Andheri, we hear, even Anushka is toying with the idea of changing homes. Apparently, she plans to move into a plush building, midtown. We don't know yet if cricketer Virat Kohli, will share the Worli pad with her.


SUSHANT SINGH RAJPUT
Break-ups can prove costly. Sushant Singh Rajput is a case in point. The actor, who shared an apartment with girlfriend Ankita Lokhande in Malad, moved out of it bag and baggage after their break-up. He now stays at Little Heights building, Bandra. Before zeroing in on the flat, he reportedly spent many days in a plush hotel suite.

KATRINA KAIF
The actress, who was residing at Guldev Sagar Apartments (Bandra), moved into Silver Sands with Ranbir. While Ranbir left after the relationship ended, Kat stayed on. A few months ago, there were rumours that she was looking for a new home, but nothing seems to have happened on that front.

Ranbir Kapoor had a Ganpati pooja on Ganesh Chaturthi at his newly-acquired bachelor pad at Pali Hill, Bandra. It was followed by an intimate housewarming party attended only by the actor's close friends. He bought a sprawling home in Vastu building on the seventh floor in the high-brow neighbourhood, in March this year. For the last couple of months, the house has been under renovation, under Gauri Khan's supervision.

Ranbir has personally been looking into the décor. “He has slowly started moving his belongings to his new home and spends a lot of time there but he hasn't moved in yet. He hosted the pooja on the auspicious day of Ganesh Chaturthi to ensure the house exudes positive energy when he moves in with bag and baggage over the next few weeks,“ says a source close to the actor.

Earlier this year, Ranbir moved out of his love nest at Carter Road, which he shared with his then girlfriend Katrina Kaif, and purchased this property within a few months. Ever since the renovation in his new house began, the actor moved into his grandmother Krishna Raj's Chembur bungalow, where a few weeks ago, a shanti pooja was also held with the entire clan in attendance.

Ranbir Kapoor, who has been living at his grandmother Krishna Raj Kapoor's house in Chembur for the last couple of months, is likely to move into his new Pali Hill apartment by early October. Sources close to the actor tell us that he doesn't mind having a delayed birthday bash this year. RK turns 34 on September 28 and we hear he's planning a double celebration with his friends in October - he will host a housewarming jamboree and a belated birthday party at the same time. This will be his third address after moving out of his love nest with Katrina Kaif.
