Actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas is back in Mumbai, and work is also on her mind among other things. This trip back home is apparently extra special for the desi girl as it is being speculated that she is accompanied by her daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. This will be the little one’s first trip to India.

The actor took to Instagram on Monday, to share her excitement about coming back to “the bay”, which left her fans ecstatic. She shared several pictures from her flight and wrote: “Back in the bay. Touchdown.”

According to Pinkvilla, the actor is in India for some personal and professional commitments, which include reading a few scripts. She has also scheduled meetings with filmmakers Vishal Bhardwaj and Sanjay Leela Bhansali to discuss possible collaborations.

“Priyanka’s association with Vishal Bhardwaj and Sanjay Leela Bhansali goes back a long way, and they have been meaning to collaborate for another project for a long time now. Both the directors have shared a few ideas and stories with Priyanka, and she will be meeting them during this trip to take the conversation forward. However, this isn’t a very long trip and her plan is to accommodate as much as she can during this visit,” a source close to the actor revealed.

On the work front, the 40-year-old will next be seen in the romance drama It’s All Coming Back to Me alongside actor Sam Heughan. Her next Hindi film, Jee Le Zara, is to be directed by actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar, and will also star Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, who welcomed a baby via surrogacy in January earlier this year, shared the first picture of their daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas on Mother’s Day on Sunday. Revealing that the little one had spent more than 100 days in the neonatal intensive care unit, both PC and Nick wrote that they were “overjoyed” about bringing their daughter home.

In an emotional post on Instagram, Priyanka wrote, “On this Mother’s Day we can’t help but reflect on these last few months and the rollercoaster we’ve been on, which we now know, so many people have also experienced. After 100 plus days in the NICU, our little girl is finally home (sic).”

Priyanka added, “Every family’s journey is unique and requires a certain level of faith, and while ours was a challenging few months, what becomes abundantly clear, in retrospect, is how precious and perfect every moment is. We are overjoyed that our little girl is finally home, and just want to thank every doctor, nurse and specialist at Rady Children’s La Jolla and Cedar Sinai, Los Angeles, who were there selflessly every step of the way. Our next chapter begins now, and our baby is truly a badass. Let’s get it MM! Mommy and Daddy love you. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers and caretakers in my life and out there. You make it look so easy. Thank you. Also... there is no one I’d rather do this with than you. Thank you for making me a mama @nickjonas I love you (sic).”

Nick shared the same post and added, “Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mothers and caretakers out there, but I want to take a minute to say a special Mother’s Day wish to my incredible wife @priyankachopra on her first Mother’s Day. Babe, you inspire me and every way, and you are taking to this new role with such ease and steadiness. I am so grateful to be on this journey with you. You are already an incredible mother. Happy Mother’s Day. I love you (sic).”

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, who welcomed their baby girl through surrogacy in January this year, have been tightlipped about their little one. However, as per an international entertainment portal their daughter has been named, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. The portal also revealed the baby was born in San Diego on January 15. The newborn has both her parents’ surnames and her names honour their heritage. 

Malti is also a part of Priyanka’s mother’s name, Madhumalti. The couple is yet to confirm the news.

Priyanka and Nick, who tied the knot in 2018, had shared the news of the baby’s arrival a few days after her birth, on their social media.

Taking to her Instagram handle in January, Priyanka wrote, “We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family (sic).”

Priyanka and Nick’s colleagues and friends from Bollywood and Hollywood, including Katrina Kaif, Farhan Akhtar, Lara Dutta Bhupathi, Dia Mirza, Vishal Bhardwaj, John Legend, Octavia Spencer and Mindy Kaling among others congratulated the couple. Actor Kal Penn even offered the new parents some help. “Congratulations! Kalpen uncle is ready to babysit,” he wrote.

In her recent interview with an international publication, Priyanka had said that having babies is a “big part of our desire for the future. By God’s grace, when it happens, it happens. ” She had also indicated that they were ready to slow down the hectic pace of work. “We’re both okay with that,” she had. 

Talking about managing work and family simultaneously and possibly spending more time at home in 2022, she said that she is “craving balance. ” “I’m craving my family life,” she added.

Priyanka and Nick had tied the knot in 2018 in a grand wedding in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, after dating for four months.

While everyone speculated on whether it was a boy or a girl, reports began to circulate that the couple’s first child is a girl. And Priyanka’s cousin, actor Meera Chopra, confirms to us, “Priyanka is gonna be a super mum to her baby girl. She always wanted to have lot of kids, so I am very happy for this new chapter in her life. She has excelled in every area of her life so being a mother is an extension to her powerful self. We are all very proud of her.”

According to the Daily Mail, they welcomed their daughter 12 weeks early at a Southern California hospital outside Los Angeles, US where she is expected to remain until she is healthy enough to go home. The source further said the couple had been wanting to have a baby together for ‘quite some time,’ but their busy schedules had gotten in the way.

“Priyanka doesn’t have any fertility issues preventing her from having a baby, but she is 39 now, so it’s not getting any easier. Their busy work schedules also mean that it’s difficult for them to physically be together to conceive when she is ovulating, so some time ago they went down the surrogacy route. This is the woman’s fifth surrogacy. They met her and really liked her,” claimed the source.
