Brother-in-law Salman Khan's last-ditch efforts to patch things up between her and husband Arbaaz have come to a naught; the 42-year-old model-celebrity judge is now keen to file for divorce

Amidst constant murmurs of
trouble in Malaika Arora and Arbaaz Khan's 18-year-old marriage things
seem to have finally come to a head. Turns out, Malaika has made up her
mind about filing for divorce and she's not listening to anyone, not
even her brother-in-law Salman, whose repeated attempts to patch things
up between the troubled couple have come to a naught.
Malaika and Arbaaz first raised eyebrows when they signed up as hosts
for the reality TV show, Power Couple, but filmed together for barely
three episodes. When they eventually agreed to appear together after much
cajoling, they'd arrive in separate cars, use individual green rooms
and leave separately. Sources from the set informed Mirror that
Malaika had walked out of their Bandra home with 14-year-old son,
Arhaan, three months ago and rented an apartment in Khar.
Malaika didn't turn up for sister Amrita Arora Ladak's 35th birthday in Dubai on January 31, since Arbaaz was in attendance. She was also a no-show at sister-in-law Arpita Khan Sharma's baby showers in Dubai and Mumbai in February.
On February 29, the couple made another rare public appearance together, on the TV show, Yaar Mera Superstar, where Arbaaz addressed the separation rumours. “I love Malaika but I'm possessive about her. It wasn't like this when she was younger or I was new into the relationship. She is precious to me. I'm afraid of losing her now,“ he had confessed. Off camera too, Arbaaz has been putting up a brave front as he works towards finding his feet as a filmmaker.
And while his grand gesture remained ignored, big brother Salman Khan stepped in for some more damage control. Bhai arranged for a family dinner at his favourite Bandra restaurant to help the couple sort out their differences. Sister Amrita and her husband, Shakeel Ladak, with whom Malaika shares a close bond, and mom, Joyce Polycarp, were invited to the intervention of sorts on March 2. But Malaika would have none of it. After she left the party, Malaika dropped a thinly-veiled jibe on the social media. “Hey I found your nose, it was in my business again,“ she wrote.
Sallu was then spotted at the Colors Golden Petal Awards on March 6 and sat with Malaika in the front row. “He hugged her and held her hand protectively as they chatted away,“ said a source present at the event. “Salman went on stage for his performance and Malaika cheered him on. Later, the duo then headed to Salman's green room.“
Malaika has informed Salman and the Khan-daan that she has been single-handedly been providing for Arhaan financially, even paying for his exorbitant school tuition fees. A close friend of the 42-year-old model-celebrity judge confirmed that Malaika is separated and will file for divorce. And while Sallu took it upon himself to help out, parents Salim and Salma Khan have left it to the couple to sort out their issues.
Malaika was an 18-year-old model when she had first met Arbaaz, while shooting for a coffee advertisement in 1992. By the end of the shoot, they were in love and dated for five years before tying the knot. Today, she's been busy modelling and promoting The Label Life, her signature lifestyle brand with friends and collaborators, Sussanne Khan, Bipasha Basu, and founder, Preeta Sukhtankar. She added another feather to her endorsements cap with a deal with a popular jewellery brand.

Malaika Arora Khan, who had been conspicuous by her absence on Power Couple, the reality show she was supposed to host with Arbaaz, adding further fuel to reports of a split, reunited with her hubby last week on the sets in Goa. After much pleading by show makers, the couple, who has been married for close to 18 years, came together for an episode.
"It was a one-day schedule in a villa in Goa. Arbaaz and Malaika shot a fun segment which involved a bout of tug-of-war. They are expected to shoot for the finale in the coming week," a source informed Mirror.
Malaika Arora Khan strangely goes missing from Power Couple?

The irony is hard to miss. Reality show Power Couple, which hit the tube last month with Arbaaz Khan with wife Malaika Arora Khan as hosts, has been putting crazily-in-love celebrity couples through various tasks to test their compatibility. However, since the last few episodes, Arbaaz has been flying solo with Malaika curiously missing from the scene.
A unit hand says, “Malaika comes off and on to the sets, but she has chosen to skip the last few days of shoot. We have not been informed about the reason.”
An industry insider, however, claims that Malaika is playing truant on purpose. “The real reason behind her absence is that she and Arbaaz are going through some personal issues. In order to avoid a public squabble, she is staying away,” says the source.
When we contacted Malaika, she said, “The show format is such that I come in for special episodes. There is no problem between Arbaaz and me. I have not been missing. I had signed up for a few episodes only.”
Ashmit Patel-Mahek Chahal to participate as a couple in new reality show Power Couple

Ashmit Patel and Mahek
Chahal, who are seeing each other since three months, will participate
together in the reality show Power Couple. While the former was seen in
season four of Bigg Boss, the latter was part of season five. Both of
them have moved on in life from their respective link-ups.
Ashmit was famously linked with inmate Veena Malik. On the finale night of Bigg Boss (2012), Mahek received a proposal from boyfriend Danish Khan on national television. The relationship, however, went kaput later.
Ashmit says, “Mahek and I have known each other for 12 years. We've have been acquaintances for a long time and our friendship has grown steadily. We became serious about each other three months ago.“ The two have been gym buddies and the post workout hangouts strengthened their bond. “I started dropping her home and spending more time with her. One thing led to another and we became a couple,“ he added. Many might label this as yet another reality show stunt, but Ashmit is unperturbed about it. “I've found a companion in a friend and we are enjoying the relationship,“ he says.
Ask Mahek about participating with Ashmit in the show and she replies, “I'm scared as we have never lived together. Saath mein rehne par ladko ke baare mein sach pata chalta hai (When you stay under the same roof, you get to know the real man).“ So, is marriage on the cards? “That will take time,“ she signs off.
