Dil Dhadakne Do 75 cr in 24 days; Tanu Weds Manu Returns 146.50 cr in 39 days; Piku 78.50 in 52 days

Box Office India Trade Network

DIL DHADAKNE DO grossed around 3.75 crore nett in week three to take its business to 74 crore nett. The film went to 75 crore nett in its fourth weekend. The film did drop after the first week but has slowly crept to the 75 crore nett mark as the film has stayed in the multiplexes of the big metros like Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore. The fourth weekend added around 1 crore nett.

TANU WEDS MANU RETURNS stands at 146.50 crore nett after its fifth weekend. It will be the 11th highest grossing film of all time. The distributor share of the film will be 66-67 crore which is the 15th highest ever.

PIKU has finished its business on 78.50 crore nett and is the biggest grosser of the year in West Bengal with business close to 7 crore nett. The 5% ratio circuit is almost double for this film.

Tanu Weds Manu Returns 115 cr in 2 weeks; Piku 77 cr in 4 weeks

Box Office India Trade Network

TANU WEDS MANU RETURNS had an excellent second week grossing around 45.75 crore nett and taking its two week total to 115 crore nett. The drop is just 34% in week two and that is the highest for any film with a 30 crore nett plus second week apart from 3 Idiots.

The second week is also the fifth highest of all time beating films like YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI and KRRISH 3. Business all over India barring Gujarat/Saurashtra is fantastic with North India competing with some of the biggest grossers ever.

Despite the release of a big film like DIL DHADAKNE DO it still will put a good third week figure as the weekdays in the second week were rock steady. The film is going over 135 crore nett for sure and its just question how much over 135 crore nett it goes.
---------------------
PIKU managed good fourth week figures of 3.75 crore nett approx taking its business to near the 77 crore nett mark. It was the highest fourth week collection of the year. The top fourth week collections this year are.
1. Piku - 3.75 crore apprx
2. Baby - 2.78 crore
3. Dum Laga Ke Haisha - 2.38 crore
4. Gabbar is Back - 1.59 crore

These are the only four films to go over 1 crore nett in week four though the way TANU WEDS MANU RETURNS is going it is sure to at the top of the list soon.

Piku collects 72.50 cr in 3 weeks

Box Office India Trade Network

PIKU held up well in its third week with 10 crore nett approx taking its three week total to around 72.50 crore nett. The third week is the highest of the year beating the figures of BABY which grossed 6.75 crore nett approx in week three.

The film should make it to the 80 crore nett mark. The performance is mainly on the strength of high end multiplexes which have seen good appreciation. The PVR and Inox chains are at 50% of its all India business which is a big amount for a film grossing over 70 crore nett.

The performance in mass centres is poor with its lifetime business will be less than the first week business of TANU WEDS MANU RETURNS in Rajasthan, CP Berar, CI and Bihar. Infact its the same story in Delhi/UP and East Punjab where the film can't reach the first week figures of TANU WEDS MANU RETURNS. This is a despite a very good performance in the PVR chain that have a huge presence in Delhi/UP and East Punjab.

PIKU did well it its third weekend grossing around 6.50 crore nett and taking its business to 69 crore nett approx. The film maintained well despite TANU WEDS MANU RETURNS scoring very at the box office. The collections are the highest for the third weekend for the year. They are almost similar to the the third week of BABY which had the previous highest third weekend.

The film looks on course for an 80 crore nett total and maybe even a chance to go past the 81 crore nett plus of BABY though has little chance of beating highest grosser of this year so far - GABBAR IS BACK.

The third week collections of the film should be able to cross 10 crore nett which would mean business of around 73 crore nett in three weeks. The business in Mumbai will hit 25 crore nett at the end of week three.

BOMBAY VELVET meanwhile continued its disastrous run on a limited number of screens in second weekend grossing around 50-60 lakhs nett.

Piku collects 62 cr in 2 weeks; Gabbar Is Back 84 cr in 3 weeks

PIKU held up very well in week two grossing around 22 crore nett which was a similar collection to the new release BOMBAY VELVET as it also grossed that much in week one. The drop from week one is less than 50% which is very good trending. The film should be able to do 75 crore nett and maybe even hit 80 crore nett.

The best performance is in West Bengal where the film should cross 6 crore nett which is excellent and easily beats BABY at 4 crore nett which was the top grosser before PIKU.

Mumbai and Mysore are also very good with Mumbai expected to cross 25 crore nett and Mysore should comfortably cross 6 crore nett. Mass dominated circuits like CP, CI and Bihar have not done well. -----------------------------------------
GABBAR IS BACK is the biggest grosser of 2015 as it has collected 84 crore nett approx in three weeks. The film has done well despite competition from new releases over the last two weeks. BOMBAY VELVET did not provide competition but GABBAR IS BACK lost a lot of screen space due to its release especially in single screens. Its pretty clear that GABBAR IS BACK would have done better in these screens despite being in week three.

The performance in Bihar is very good where it will be amongst the top fifteen grossing films. It will not reach top 25 in any other circuit.

The film should just about cross the 85 crore nett mark with a distributor share of 43.50 crore apprx.

Piku collects 53 cr in 10 days; Gabbar Is Back is the biggest grosser of 2015

PIKU had a very strong second weekend as it grossed 13.25 crore nett which is the best second weekend of the year beating the figures of GABBAR IS BACK. The second weekend business of PIKU is as follows.
Friday - 2,75,00,000
Saturday - 4,75,00,000
Sunday - 5,75,00,000
TOTAL - 13,25,00,000

The film has grossed over 53 crore nett in ten days and is heading for a 75 crore nett plus lifetime. The film has found good appreciation amongst the gentry audience with the two premium multiplex chains contributing over 50% of its all India business.
----------------------
GABBAR IS BACK has become the highest grossing film of 2015 as it added around 3.25 crore nett in its third weekend taking it to 82 crore nett which puts it past the previous highest grosser BABY.

The film should cross 85 crore nett for lifetime business which is pretty good especially as the initial could have been better. The film is the highest grosser of 2015 in Delhi/UP, East Punjab, Rajasthan, CP Berar, CI, Nizam/Andhra, Bihar, Assam and Orissa.

The film will not hit top spot in the other circuits as BABY will hold number in Mumbai while PIKU is on top in West Bengal in just ten days and it will go top after its second week in Mysore and Tamil Nadu/Kerala.

Piku 42.75 cr in 8 days; Gabbar Is Back 79.75 cr in 15 days

Box Office India Trade Network

PIKU held up very well on day eight grossing around 2.75 crore nett which is less than 50% drop from first weekend. The film is putting up very good numbers in Mumbai, West Bengal and Mysore.

The failure of BOMBAY VELVET will help the film in week two and it should get a bug jump on Saturday. The weekend should cross 12 crore ar least and may even become the highest second weekend of the year

GABBAR IS BACK grossed 75 laks nett on its third Friday which us 75% drop from last Friday. This is reasonable as multiplex business was hut due to the release of BOMBAY VELVET and PIKU going strong which meant those two films covered most of the screens at multiplexes.

Piku 40 cr in Week 1; Gabbar Is Back 79 cr in 2 weeks

Box Office India Trade Network

PIKU did well in its first week grossing around 40 crore nett. The film had a poor start but gained momentum from Saturday and has maintained very well in the metros. The other major cities have also maintained well but the collections here are on the lower side. Cities like Mumbai, Kolkata and Bangalore are set to give the best collections of the year.

The performance of these of these cities means that Mumbai, West Bengal and Mysore are the best performers while Rajasthan, CP Berar, CI and Bihar have low numbers although have held very well since on Monday

The film should remain strong in the big cities over the next couple of weeks which should take it to a good lifetime total.
-----------------------
GABBAR IS BACK held up well in week two grossing around 18.75 crore nett taking its two week total to 79 crore nett. The drop from the first week was around 67% which is a decent trend for a mass film like GABBAR IS BACK.

The film did have competition at metro multiplexes from PIKU but at many centres its second week collections were better than PIKU, in fact better than both the new releases (PIKU and KUCH KUCH LOCHA HAI) put together. It is the highest grossing film of 2015 in many circuits in two weeks and should become the highest grossing film Hindi film of 2015 by the end of its run.

The film will cross 3 crore nett in Bihar which is more than double the business of any other releases of 2015.

Piku collects 32.50 cr in 5 days

Box Office India Trade Network

PIKU held up very on Tuesday with a very limited drop on Tuesday. The approx first five day business of PIKU is as follows:
Friday - 5,00,00,000
Saturday - 8,50,00,000
Sunday - 11,00,00,000
Monday - 4,25,00,000
Tuesday - 3,75,00,000
TOTAL - 32,50,00,000

The film is heading for a 39-40 crore nett first week and with weekdays showing strong trend it should hold well in week two despite release of BOMBAY VELVET though weaker competition could have really pushed the business further.

Piku collects 28.75 cr in 4 days

PIKU showed huge growth of 65% plus on Saturday which is extraordinary. It is very rare that this sort of growth happens. The first day business hardly gave the film a chance but day the phenomenal growth on day two has changed the scenario. The approx first four day business of PIKU is as follows.
Friday - 5,00,00,000
Saturday - 8,50,00,000
Sunday - 11,00,00,000
Monday - 4,25,00,000
TOTAL - 28,75,00,000

The film will have the third highest first week collection of the year as it head towards a 40 crore nett first week total.

Piku is extraordinary; collects 24.50 cr in 3 days

Box Office India Trade Network

PIKU had a good weekend of around 24.50 crore nett and the trend was very strong with extraordinary growth on Saturday and very good growth on Sunday. The trending is the best of the year barring DUM LAGA KE HAISHA but that film was at very low levels and it is easier with low collections.

The business of the film was led by the major metros of Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Gurgaon, Kolkata and Bangalore but on Sunday multiplexes all over were good. The few single screens it has released on have not done well but it does not matter much when multiplexes show this type of growth. The business in West Bengal is better than GABBAR IS BACK released last week and that film had the biggest weekend of the year in that circuit.

It is rare that film a film taking a five crore nett opening day ends up doing an 11 crore Sunday. The film should hold well on Monday especially after the growth on Sunday as some films manage to show huge jump on Saturday but are then flat on Sunday.

The other release of the week KUCH KUCH LOCHA HAI was very dull with around 2.25 crore nett business over the weekend.

PIKU showed huge growth of 65% plus on Saturday which is extraordinary. It is very rare that this sort of growth happens. The first day business hardly gave the film a chance but day the phenomenal growth on day two has changed the scenario. The approx first two day business of PIKU is as follows.
Friday - 5,00,00,000
Saturday - 8,50,00,000 approx
TOTAL - 13,50,00,000

The film is now looking at a good weekend which could be in the 23 crore nett range and that is very good after a 5 crore nett first day.

Day 1: Piku 5 cr; Kuch Kuch Locha Hai 75 lacs

Box Office India Trade Network

PIKU picked up in the evening at the premium multiplexes to record first day collections in the 4.75-5 crore nett range. The pick up was mainly limited to the PVR, Inox and DT Chains which contributed more than half the all India business film.

The collections are better than films FINDING FANNY and DETECTIVE BYOMKESH BAKSHY which were also for the premium multiplexes but that hardly matters as both fared poorly so to be 10% and 20% better is not much. The film fared best in Mysore circuit with collections of nearly 50 lakhs but when this circuit leads, it means problems in most other parts of the country.

The film has hardly any chance for recovery as film is too costly for the limited appeal it holds. So basically it will be about a huge jump on Saturday and a good hold over the next few weeks which will at least mean some appreciation amongst the target audience..

The collections of KUCH KUCH LOCHA HAI were very poor all over and will hardly gross 75 lakh nett on day one.
