PATI PATNI AUR WOH DO held up well in the third week as it dropped only 40% from the second week but its all to late in the day as the overall business is just not good enough. The film collected 7.50 crore nett in week three which takes it to 47.50 crore nett but it will be limited collections from here and the 50 crore nett mark looks to be far away.

The film has just not found much appreciation with the audience leading to lacklustre collections. The film has done okay business in Delhi/UP but it should have been much more as it holds appeal for that region. However, the content has just not been good enough.

CHAND MERA DIL collected 7.50 crore nett in its second week which is a drop of 57% and it is too much for a film which hardly collects anything in the first week. A film like KRISHNAVATARAM PART 1: THE HEART dropped only 15% and that is not to say that this film did well. But at least there was some sort of hold signaling some sort of appreciation, however minimal.

CHAND MERA DIL needed the trending of a KRISHNAVATARAM PART 1: THE HEART and then it could have even done well but it is well short of that. The problem is total rejection by the core Hindi belts and when this happens, its hard to survive in todays scenario. The film has 25 crore nett up on the board so far and it will be very limited collections from here.

Both PATI PATNI AUR WOH DO and CHAND MERA DIL will be fine in terms of recovery due to non theatrical deals and costs being in check but theatrically both are additions to the FLOP list.

CHAND MERA DIL collected 17.75 crore nett apprx in its first week after a weekend of 10.50 crore nett. The weekdays have seen fair holds but were aided by buy one get one free offers and a holiday on Thursday for Eid. And then you have the normal discounted Tuesday anyway. If these holds had come without the offers, they would have been decent.

The problem is when these things are in play, then they have to continue; otherwise, the drops come. The film is playing on discounted rates on Friday which should keep it afloat above its real level but as Thursday was a holiday, there will be a drop from those collections. If the film can get near the 30 crore nett mark, it would be a respectable number though it would have come with the benefit of offers.

Basically, it has to hold under 50% for the second week as it will struggle to collect after that as there are a good number of releases for the next few weeks. The main problem is the film has a limited audience in a few metros and with a limited audience, it is always going to be a struggle to break out which these films have to do if they are get anywhere in the numbers game.

CHAND MERA DIL collected a low 4.75 crore nett in its second weekend. The film got advantage of an offer on Friday which meant there was not much growth on Saturday and Sunday is always a struggle for films which don't have any appeal for the core Hindi circuits. The second weekend has collected 4.75 crore nett which is the same as PATI PATNI AUR WOH DO in its third weekend. 

A low opening weekend is not much of an issue for films like CHAND MERA DIL as its from Monday where they have to add and make up ground but this film has not managed to do that. It could have got away with a 10 crore nett plus first weekend but not a 4.75 crore nett second weekend. It has to be doing much better and these types need a second weekend close to their first weekend and here it will be well short. The business after its second weekend stands at almost 22.50 crore nett.

The lack of releases benefited PATI PATNI AUR WOH DO as it held up well in its third weekend collecting 4.75 crore nett. The second week had shown a drop of 55% and this week is sure to be of 50%. It could even be a drop of less than 40% depending on the weekdays which is a good hold but its all too late in the day as not enough was collected in the first two weeks. The film is standing at 45 crore nett so far and should finish around the 50 crore nett mark though there will not be much business post the third week.

CHAND MERA DIL opened to low collections of 2.75 crore nett. The film looked like posting a 3 crore nett plus figure but because of the lower rates, it seems that a lot of the evening collections were in the advances as the film did not add much in the evenings in the main cinemas. These collections have come with lower rates and without this, it would have been an even lower start.

The film has opened to lower collections than DHADAK 2 which had clashed with SON OF SARDAAR 2. The expectations were around this much but that was with a normal rates and with the lower rates, you would have expected the film to get over that 3 crore nett mark but it was not to be. The film is for a niche audience and in that is where the problem lies as the audience is so limited.

The fact that the first day collections have come on discounted rates and day two will revert back to normal makes it is hard for CHAND MERA DIL to get the type of growth it would have normally got. Not that it makes much difference as without the cheap rates, it would have been a lower first day. Eventually no matter what you do, it comes to the same thing and only content can make that difference.

The holdover, PATI PATNI AUR WOH DO, collected 1.25 crore nett on its second Friday which is around 65% down from last week and that's not much of a trend for a film which did not collect well in week one. The eight day collections of the film are 28 crore nett and its probably heading for a finish of around 40 crore nett which will be less than 50% of the PATI PATNI AUR WOH did released in 2019.

PATI PATNI AUR WOH DO collected 27 crore nett in its first week which is a low collection. The film had a dull start and then it became an uphill struggle after that. Its not gone downhill after the start or anything but there is just no momentum in the run of the film. Thursday is down a little more than 50% from the first day and if collections can hold close to Thursday on Friday, the film would be looking at a 60% drop in week two.

The drops and all ore okay but the problem is low numbers and it makes the 50 crore nett figure difficult to reach and even then 50 crore nett is just respectable not a success. Films with lesser costs like THE KERALA STORY 2: GOES BEYOND and MARDAANI 3 are doing in the 45-50 crore nett range. Those were sequels and so is this.

PATI PATNI AUR WOH DO collected 16.50 crore nett over its first weekend but this is on paper as the Sunday collections were all over place as national chains showed insane growth of 60% plus while some places were just in the regular 10-15% bracket. Figures in some cities doubled up from Saturday when normally the growth in these places is just 20-30% with a blockbuster film.

The number on Sunday went to 7.50 crore nett but it can be taken with a pinch of salt as the real collections will be lower. The feeding maybe for a digital kicker or media perception but at the end of the day, it hardly makes a difference whether a film is 15 crore nett of 16.50 crore nett. Its pretty much the same thing.

PATI PATNI AUR WOH DO has a long way to go for even respectable numbers, let alone success, and for a chance of success, the Monday collections cant afford to drop more than 20-30%. That is the real collections not the boosted ones if the same is to be done on Monday.

PATI PATNI AUR WOH DO had a 20% drop on Monday from the Friday which takes the figures of the film to 19.25 crore nett over the first four days. Despite the hold the film probably needed to be even closer to the first day figure as the first day figure was so low. Also generally the box office has seen good holds this Monday as can be seen with holdover films. The film collected in the 2.75-3 crore nett range on Monday.

The holds for PATI PATNI AUR WOH DO are better in the chains which was expected after the Sunday results. But unlike Sunday where growth was minimal for many, Monday have these also hold well in that 20-30% range. This does not really alter the fate for the film much as 19 crore nett is not much in four days and even if it can get 45-50 crore nett it is just a face saving number though there is a long way to go for that.

PATI PATNI AUR WOH DO collected 5.25 crore nett on its second day which is a jump of around 45% from Friday and is just not good enough. Basically the film needed to be in double digits or close on Sunday but that is impossible now. It needed to double up on Saturday at the very least due to the dull start on Friday.

The game today is about being on the desired figure by Sunday irrespective of the opening if you want to stay in the race. A start hugely helps the cause but if you have the content, then Saturday and Sunday will gain momentum but that has not happened with this film. Obviously, there is the Sunday to come but the growth here will be less on Sunday and on a best case scenario as much as Saturday which is also not enough.

PATI PATNI AUR WOH DO has around 9 crore nett up on the board and it will probably be a 15 crore nett plus total for the weekend.

The two main releases of the week suffered on the first day with low collections. There were no expectations from AAKHRI SAWAL but PATI PATNI AUR WOH DO was expected to do better. It was not about smashing the box office or anything but it should have got more than 3.50-3.75 crore nett it has managed to get.

Even if the units did not really work for the film, then at least some franchise factor should have got more people into the theatres. The film is made in that commercial rom com format. Hence, there are limitations as to where it can go post the first day. The growth will come on Saturday but it has be double or near about and that just wont happen. The film needed to open to 5-6 crore nett and it is well short of that. The genre is a struggle in present times and this film is one more proof of this.

When it was Hindi Cinema and not the profanity Bo!!yw@@d, this genre actually did not exist but in the recent past, it has became a favoured one despite results not being great. There would hardly be a rom com in the golden years of 1960-1985 and even maybe till the end of the 90's. 

PATI PATNI AUR WOH in 2019 had opened over 8 crore nett. So, the collections here are less than 50% of that film. Its going to be a tough ride for PATI PATNI AUR WOH DO.

AAKHRI SAWAL collected around 30 lakhs nett but nothing was expected here and the film had little awareness.
