OMG 2 ended its first week with business of 78 crore nett as it took advantage of the holiday period and also managed to hold on well post the holidays. The collections on Thursday which was day seven were only 45% down on the first day. This has come with the competition of GADAR 2 and are huge results for the film.

The film will easily cross the business of OMG OH MY GOD's first part within 8 days though that was a 2012 release which is 11 years back. The film has been overshadowed by GADAR 2 but that is a phenomenal film and those type of films perform at a higher level post pandemic. It is actually the numbers of OMG 2 that is shows that the box office for Hindi films is now pretty much back to normal.

There is hardly any competition this week and the film is will sustain its run well over the next few weeks. The plus is that the film has put up decent numbers in places like Gujarat, CI and Rajasthan despite content which is probably more for the bigger urban centres.

OMG 2 has shown a superb hold on its second Friday as collections were a little better than the Thursday as it notched up 5.50 crore nett. This takes the total of the film to almost 84 crore nett and the film confirms its HIT status.  

The film still has plenty of gas left in the tank and will continue to do business for some weeks yet. Its lifetime will depend a lot on where the third Friday lands as DREAM GIRL 2 is a film which will be hoping to do well with a similar multiplex audience where OMG 2 has scored.

The film will get over the 125 crore nett mark but remains to be seen how much further it can go.

OMG 2 scored the best day of its run as it collected almost 17 crore nett taking its five day total to 66 crore nett. The film is scoring very well at the box office despite the coming up against GADAR 2.

The film would have done well just to get a pass mark up against a film like this but here OMG 2 has actually done very well.  The holiday period is over and the film should hold up well and this film has the potential to be a big hit depending on how the second weekend does.

The film has scored well at multiplexes all over with all circuits putting up good numbers. The singles are low but that was expected.

OMG 2 held well post the holiday as it collected 6.75 crore nett which now takes its overall total to 73 crore nett. The first week should be around 78.50 crore nett plus which is a good first week total, if you consider the huge competition. This numbers would have been much higher if the competition was not there.

There was the Parsi New Year holiday in Maharashtra and Gujarat which has meant collections were very good there but they will come down today (Thursday). But that will just equal things up and the rest of the country where there was no holiday is holding well in comparison to the day.

The second Friday number should confirm the HIT status of the film and it should have a good run post the first week at multiplexes. The mass appreciation is limited and that is not really much to do with GADAR 2 but the film itself. Yes if GADAR 2 was not there it would have done better business in the mass belts but not the sort that makes a huge difference in the final run. Its the sharing of screen space in multiplexes which has the film business especially over the first week.

OMG 2 will emerge a HIT or better as collections are super strong and higher than Friday. The film collected 11 crore nett apprx taking its overall total to almost 50 crore nett. It is the day between Sunday and a national holiday and so it becomes bit like a holiday. But it is not a holiday officially and schools and offices remain open.

The film has a solid trend and there is appreciation with the bigger city audience. It remains to be seen where the first week goes as all depends on the growth today (Independence Day) and how it holds on Wednesday which is also a minor holiday in a couple of states.

Despite emerging a big winner, it should have been postponed by a week as it would have got better collections but also the perception of the film would have been much better as though being fantastic, it becomes less significant when the other film is out of the world. A release a week later would have meant better collections and the figures would have been noticed more also.

OMG 2 has shown a good trend on over its first weekend as it collects over 38 crore nett. The collections are also good if you consider Akshay Kumar only really has a guest appearance but the public sees it as a franchise which has Akshay Kumar's name attached to it.

The film is mostly for the bigger centres. So, a 20% jump on Sunday is a good result for the film and is good sign for the next few days. The film is also up against a juggernaut like GADAR 2 which has not just blown the box office away but has huge appreciation across the board. So to be up against it and still get results means this film has something going in its favour.

The numbers for the film are good across most circuits though it is the bigger cities which are mainly contributing. A circuit like Rajasthan is 1.75 crore nett which is a good number for a film like this without mass elements and with crazy opposition.

OMG 2 showed good growth on Saturday as collections jumped around 45% from the first day to collect over 13 crore nett and this takes the number of the film to 22.50 crore nett. The growth in business came all over as even the mass circuits showed good jumps.

The jump in Gujarat/Saurashtra was very good and OMG OH MY GOD in 2012 had also done very well here. The film should emerge a success and maybe even a HIT but if the film did not clash would GADAR 2, it would have been a certain HIT and for sure would have done more business than it is going to do now. On the other hand, the fact that it is staying above water with the tide against it means the film has something for a certain audience.

The Saturday jump in mass pockets means there should be some solid growth on Sunday even though its more of a city film for multiplexes. There is a holiday on Tuesday. So, its like an extended weekend and the film will no doubt have a good total up on the board.
