NOOR continues its horrendous run on Tuesday with a further drop in collections. The film saw cancelled shows all over the place on Tuesday and its pretty much sure to be out of theatres by Friday.

The week will gross 6.75 crore nett on a best case scenario and the lifetime business of the film will be below 7 crore nett meaning that its has not even recovered 50% of the promotional spend. The business of NOOR over the first five days is as follows.

Sunday - 1,75,00,000
Monday - 60,00,000
Tuesday - 55,00,000
TOTAL - 5,75,00,000

NOOR dropped 50% on Monday from Friday as it collected just 60 lakhs nett. The collections so far are a little over 5 crore nett in four days and the week looks like finishing at around 6.75 crore nett and that will be it.

The last few weeks saw a season of heroine orientated films with PHILLAURI, NAAM SHABANA, BEGUM JAAN and NOOR and NOOR has come worst off by a distance with non of the other films proving successes either. The business of NOORover the first four days is as follows.

NOOR will finish at around 7 crore nett, BEGUM JAAN at 19 crore nett while PHILLAURI has done 25 crore nett and NAAM SHABANA is looking at a near 37 crore nett finish making it the best of the lot.

NOOR had a very dull weekend with very low collections and a very normal trend. The release was pretty wide for this sort of release and such a low day first day on such a release pretty much sealed its fate. It was a similar story in all circuits with cancelled shows even on Saturday and Sunday and weekend figures not even reaching 5 crore nett. There is not much hope for Monday on this trend and with BAAHUBALI 2 on Friday even the 10 crore nett mark for lifetime business is looking too far to reach. The business of NOOR over the weekend is as follows.

MAATR which was also released on Friday fared very poorly. The film failed to reach the 1 crore nett mark over the weekend as it grossed 20 lakhs on Friday, 30 lakhs nett on Saturday and 35 lakhs nett on Sunday for a total of 85 lakhs nett.

NOOR had a very poor first day as it grossed 1.25 crore nett. It looked the opening was going to be low but this low is a shocker because you would expect it to be close to the 2 crore nett mark. This leaves the film with hardly any chance as the first day has hardly shown an improvement so no way can day two show enough improvement for the film to even put up close to respectable numbers. The collections are not even 50% of other heroine orientated films like PHILLAURI, NAAM SHABANA and BEGUM JAAN and its not as if these films opened well.

Sonakshi Sinha who had a flying start to her career has seen rank bad films in the recent past like LOOTERA and AKIRA which found no appreciation but this is another low all together. Its very poor cinema and you cant really expect the audience to turn up for films like NOOR. AKIRA released around eight months back had opened to collections of 4.81 crore nett which was poor but this is a huge 75% lower.

Going forward there is little hope unless some miracle happens but that's a very unlikely scenario. The other films like MAATR, AJAB SINGH KI GAZAB KAHANI and EK THI RANI AISI BHI hardly found an audience.
