After a grand wedding in Hyderabad, Neeti Mohan and Nihar Pandya postpone reception

Singer Neeti Mohan and actor Nihar Pandya exchanged vows in a star-studded ceremony attended by Bollywood biggies
BOMBAY TIMES (February 20, 2019)

Popular singer Neeti Mohan tied the knot with long-term boyfriend and actor, Nihar Pandya in a grand ceremony at a heritage hotel in Hyderabad recently. The couple, who exchanged the wedding vows in presence of family and close friends, has however reportedly postponed their wedding reception after Neeti’s father was admitted to a hospital following ill health.

The pre-wedding ceremonies — engagement, mehendi and sangeet — that took place in another five star in Banraja Hills a day before, were attended by a host of celebrities from Bollywood that included actor Ayushmann Khurrana, his wife Tahira Kashyap, brother Aparshakti Khurana, tennis ace Sania Mirza and her sister Anam among others.

Keeping up with the Bollywood theme of the sangeet, a host of Neeti’s colleagues from the industry — Benny Dayal, Jonita Gandhi and Ayushmann — enthralled the guests with their electrifying performances during the ceremony.

After the colourful soirees, the couple tied the knot in a white-themed wedding ceremony, pictures of which are yet to be released. Ditching the mainstream trend of having a pre-wedding photo shoot with her beau before the wedding, Neeti decided to honour the ‘sisters before misters’ pact by having a photo session with her sisters — Mukti, Shakti and Kriti before the wedding. Holding placards brandishing the hastag — #NotWithoutMyMohans, the Mohan sisters looked like a million bucks as they posed donning sarees and lehengas in shades of blue and lilac.

In one of the pictures posted by Shakti on her social media handle, Neeti looked stunning in a blue lehenga with gold and silver shimmer work which she complemented with sneakers. Shakti posted a caption to go with the pic saying: “We will not let you go Didi (sic).” The pictures went viral in no time with fans wishing the singer all the luck for her new journey.

Neeti Mohan, Nihar Pandya to tie the knot on Valentine’s Day

Himesh Mankad (MUMBAI MIRROR; January 31, 2019)

After playing hide-and-seek with the media to evade questions on their upcoming nuptials, singer Neeti Mohan and model-actor Nihar Pandya have decided to talk about their relationship. In an upcoming guest turn on The Kapil Sharma Show, the soon-towed couple confirms that they are scheduled to tie the knot on Valentine’s Day in the presence of family and friends.

During the show, the duo also divulges details of their courtship. According to Nihar, who met Neeti a year ago, he was in love with the crooner even before their first meeting. “A friend of mine was a member of Aasma, the band that Neeti was a part of at the beginning of her career. I asked him several times to introduce us but that never happened. Coincidentally, I met her in Goa at the same friend’s wedding almost a year ago, and that’s when our love story started,” he informs.

When Kapil asks them to reveal who made the proposal, Nihar goes down on one knee to recreate the moment. “We were taking a stroll around my farmhouse and upon reaching a pre-decided spot under a tree, I went down on one knee and asked her, ‘Tu shaadi karegi mujhse?’ and at that very moment a phoolon ki baarish happened,” he says.

I don't get worked up over 'ex-boyfriend' tag-Nihar Pandya

Model-turned-actor Nihar Pandya, who debuts in a Kangana Ranaut starrer, says his ex Deepika Padukone and he are on cordial terms

Model Nihar Pandya who is still known as Deepika Padukone’s ex-boyfriend will make his debut as an actor in the Kangana Ranaut period drama, Manikarnika - The Queen of Jhansi. Pandya makes light of the tag saying, “I don’t get worked up over it. Yes, even the press note about my acting debut that was sent out referred to me as ‘ex-boyfriend’ but there is not much I can do about it right now. Deepika and I are cordial with each other and I hope people’s perception changes once they see my work in the film.”

He plays Bajirao II and admits the role requires a lot of physical transformation but he’s ready for it because Manikarnika is a film he’s been waiting for a long time. “Krish (the director) not only auditioned me as an actor but checked out my action and horse-riding skills before signing me. I’ve trained with Nicholas Powell, one of Hollywood’s biggest action directors, for two months. The character is the film’s hero,” he asserts.

Nihar had accidently hurt Kangana during an action sequence and she needed 15 stitches on her forehead. “She was a thorough professional, treating it like the accident that made it easier for me. We had rehearsed the scene more than a 100 times, it was just a matter of timing,” he sighs.

Shocking: Kangana Ranaut injured on the sets of Manikarnika; gets 15 stitches on her forehead

The shoot of Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika - The Queen Of Jhansi, in Hyderabad turned into a bloodbath late Wednesday evening, after the actor was severely injured. Ranaut was shooting for an intense sword- fighting sequence with co-star Nihar Pandya, when the latter’s sword hit her forehead and left her bleeding profusely.

A unit hand informs, “Kangana was immediately rushed to Apollo hospital nearby, where she was admitted into the ICCU. She got 15 stitches on her forehead and will be under observation in the hospital for a few days. The examining doctor said that it was a close shave for her because the cut was too close to her bone.”

Producer Kamal Jain says that the action scene had been rehearsed several times. In fact, the perfectionist that Ranaut is, she insisted on doing the scene herself instead of employing a body double. Jain says, “Kangana had to duck when Nihar attacked her, but the timing went wrong and Nihar’s sword hit her forehead instead. It made a deep cut between her eyebrows. The drive to the hospital took a good 30 minutes, but she put up a brave front despite the pain and bleeding. Nihar was apologetic and felt terrible, but Kangana pacified him.”

The examining doctor has said that in all probability, the gash will leave a scar. A source from the unit informs that Ranaut has decided to flaunt the scar in the biographical drama and has already informed her team about the same. “Rani of Jhansi was a warrior. So Kangana has decided that she will wear her scar with pride just like the Queen of Jhansi did,” adds the source.

The actor will be discharged from the hospital next week. Ranaut is being attended to by a leading plastic surgeon. Once the film’s shoot is wrapped up, she may have to opt for cosmetic surgery.

Ranaut has been shooting for the action sequences for almost a week in Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. Hollywood action director Nick Powell is choreographing the stunts for the historical, which is being directed by Krish. In June this year, a month before the film’s first schedule, Ranaut took swordfighting lessons from Powell. Not just that, the actor even took horse- riding lessons at the start of the year.

Deepika Padukone’s ex live-in BF Nihar Pandya makes B-Town debut?

Remember Nihar Pandya? The aspiring actor best known for dating and being in a live-in relationship with Deepika Padukone, will now make his Bollywood debut in a film directed by Dhanush’s elder brother Selvaraghavan.

Selva is now all set to remake one of his Dhanush-starrers in Hindi, written by Krish (the director of Gabbar Is Back). Says a source, “Selva has had an interesting if chequered career in Tamil cinema. He is ready for Hindi cinema with a remake of his own Tamil film Kaadhan Kondein, though on his own terms.”

Says the source, “Selvaraghavan didn’t want to repeat the leading man in the remake. He will certainly work with Dhanush later. But he’s making his Hindi debut with Nihar Pandya in the lead.”

While Hollywood production Marigold was Nihar’s feature debut, the role was nothing more than a ‘friendly appearance’.

Gauahar Khan’s ex Nihar Pandya rubbishes Kushal Tandon’s ‘Conversion’ claims

Reacting strongly to television actor Kushal Tandon’s allegation that he broke up with Gauahar Khan as she desired him to “change his beliefs”, Gauahar’s former boyfriend Nihar Pandya says religion was never an issue between them.

“We were together long enough to understand and come to terms with one another’s attitude to life and religion. Not once did Gauahar suggest or even hint that I’d have to change my religion if I wanted to marry her. We are all mature individuals and fully conscious of our own religious beliefs and of those whom we are associated with. When one is deep into a relationship religion can’t suddenly become a problem,” comments Nihar.

He also feels that Kushal should not have gone public with inside details of his split with Gauahar. “What happens between two people should remain between them.”

Actor Ajaz Khan, who came close to Gauahar in Bigg Boss last year, much to Kushal’s resentment, also feels religion couldn’t have been an issue in Gauahar’s relationship with Kushal. “I think she is way too chilled out to impose her own beliefs on the other person.”

Ajaz reveals that Gauahar’s family never liked Kushal. “I’ve seen Kushal fighting with her for no reason at all. He is very insecure and childish. He could never come to terms with the fact that she was more successful. I knew they would break up. Bakre ki maa kab tak khair manaati. Khan Saab (pet name for Gauahar) ne bahot bardasht kiya ussko.. Gauahar is a good girl. God bless her.”

After his Dubai outing, Kapil Sharma and his comedy show is headed to cities around Europe and in the US for live stage shows.

Reveals a source, “Kapil and his team of actors from Comedy Nights With Kapil will perform these live shows, which will be produced for Colors and for Kapil’s K9 productions by event and entertainment organisations owned by Bunty Bahl, actor Nihar Pandya, his brother Paarth Pandya, Yohaan Abraham and Anita Abraham. The show will be telecast by Pan Entertainment and its Dubai brand Ekya Advertising.”

The idea behind the live shows is to give Comedy Nights With Kapil a global image through live shows across the world. The sources adds that since the Dubai stint was “extremely successful”, it was time for the show to move on to other areas of the world for live performances.

About the Dubai show, Nihar shares, “We organised Comedy Nights With Kapil in Dubai with a 108-member cast and crew. The performance was held at the Sheikh Rashid Hall at the Dubai World Trade Centre, with a capacity crowd of 4,000 people in attendance. There were nearly 800 to 1,000 more people waiting outside for passes. When asked if the shows would go global, Nihar simply said, “We do plan to take the shows further.”
