Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who had launched Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor in Bollywood with Saawariya (2007), is all set to introduce two new promising talents, Meezaan and Sharmin Segal. The filmmaker’s Bhansali Productions will collaborate with T-Series on the film Malaal, a love story that will be directed by Mangesh Hadawale.
Meezaan, son of actor Jaaved Jaaferi and Sharmin Segal, Bhansali’s niece, maybe sharing screen space for the first time, but they have known each other since childhood. From being schoolmates and later assistant directors on Bajirao Mastani, to facing the camera together as the lead pair in their debut film, they have come a long way. SLB has groomed the debutants well and prepared them to step on the silver screen.
Malaal, produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Bhushan Kumar, Mahaveer Jain and Krishan Kumar, releases on June 28.

characters. As commendable as his craft in storytelling is his ability
to spot promising talent. The filmmaker, who has launched two of
Bollywood's most notable talents - Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor
(Saawariya, 2007) - is all set to launch another industry
kid.Waiting in the wings is Jaaved Jaaferi's son, Meezan. Like the Kapoor juniors, Meezan too has assisted Bhansali (Bajirao Mastani, 2015). While he has trained in theatre and martial arts, the young lad has also inherited his father's dancing genes. Not wanting to leave anything to chance, he also completed a fouryear course in filmmaking in New York. Meezan bagged the part after impressing the filmmaker with his acting abilities and dancing skills at the audition. His leading lady will be announced soon.
The untitled film will be helmed by Mangesh Hadawale, known for his Marathi film Tingnya (2008) and the Hindi film Dekh Indian Circus (2011), which won many national and international awards.
