MANMARZIYAAN has flopped at the box office as it collected 20.50 crore nett in its first week. The film had low weekend and then dropped on Monday with another noticeable drop coming on Wednesday though Thursday managed to show some gains as the evenings jumped as it is a holiday on Friday.

The film had a few issues in Punjab as a Sikh religious group objected to some scenes which were deleted by the distributors pronto to avoid any trouble. Many religious groups tend to go after films wrongly assuming as if its films that affect what happens in society. With this film they should not have even bothered because no one was watching it anyway even in Punjab though the film is practically a Punjabi film.

MANMARZIYAAN may get a little boost on Friday due to Muharram but there is no hope for the film as the collections on Wednesday were bad and any boost coming is just holiday affect.

MITRON had a very poor 3.50 crore nett in week one and this collection is a disaster. The film may not be any great shakes but it should have done more than 3.50 crore nett but needed batter casting. It had chances to at least appeal in Gujarat but even there the collections were awful.

LOVE SONIA was even worse than MITRON but it was a film which hardly had a chance to collect at the box office. The collections of the film were around 1.85 crore nett and the lifetime collections will be around 2 crore nett as it hardly has any shows in its second week.

There were other films like TURNING POINT, 22 DAYS and KATHOR but they could not register any collections at all.

MANMARZIYAAN dropped a further 10-12% on Tuesday after the Monday drop which means its going to find it hard in the second week to make much impact. The total of the film is around 17.50 crore nett and the week looks to be heading for 20.50 crore nett.

The film has not found appreciation and even places like Delhi and Punjab which should have done better have not performed for the film as the viewers has not been able to relate. The film is now doing the same daily business as STREE which is in its third compared to first of MANMARZIYAAN.

MANMARZIYAAN faltered on Monday as it collected in the 1.90-2 crore nett range. The drop is 40% from the first day and that is too much for a film which opened with such low numbers. The film will no do well but is a little better than the other two ventures of the director this year. The web series SACRED GAMES was a disaster while MUKAABAAZ was not better as it collected a little 10 crore nett at the box office..

The director has an awful record with bad films galore but has still somehow managed to get 15 films as director even though none have gone beyond the 30 crore nett mark. In fact if MANMARZIYAAN makes 25 crore nett it will be the second one to go over 25 crore nett.

The small town bug seems to have been hit with MANMARZIYAAN but if the characterization is still urban how will that relate with the audience as these characters don't belong to a small city be it Amritsar or Aurangabad. The film would have probably failed even if these chracters were set in Mumbai but at least then the film is more truer to the audience. Its looking a 20.50-21 crore nett first week for the film and it remains to be seen how much it will drop on the second Friday.

MANMARZIYAAN had a low first weekend of 13.75 crore nett and the growth was not really there as Saturday should have been more and Sunday was never going to push as the film is mainly collecting at the high end multiplexes. The film is better in Delhi NCR but despite being very Punjabi, be it the base or the music, the film has not done well in the cities of Punjab.

MANMARZIYAAN needs to hold strongly like a HICHKI or 102 NOT OUT which had better weekend numbers and even came close to Friday figure on Monday. But that could be tough as MANMARZIYAAN is for the youth so ideally it should have had better weekend numbers than a HICHKI or 102 NOT OUT.

MANMARZIYAAN showed good growth of around 50% on day two as it collected 4.75 crore nett but it should really have been more considering the first day was low. Despite doing its business in  Delhi NCR and East Punjab the collections are not really as strong as they should be. In Delhi city its only certain multiplexes that are collecting well and in East Punjab its mainly Gurgaon which is giving close to one third of the business in the circuit.
