MANJE BISTRE 2 dropped badly on Monday with just 53 lakhs nett coming taking its total to 4.65 crore nett. The film has not been liked in India but it has managed to do better business in Overseas with around $725,000 (INR 5 crore) coming in the first weekend.

MANJE BISTRE 2 had an ordinary first weekend with collections going a little over 4 crore nett. The film did not open well but made up a some ground over the weekend to collect 4.12 crore nett. These collections are still well short of MANJE BISTRE (2017) which had collected 6.36 crore nett over its first weekend.

The collections were just 45% of MANJE BISTRE on day one which had opened on a holiday but the weekend finished at 65% of MANJE BISTRE. The film is depending on the weekday business and needs to hold really well. Taking the story overseas has meant the film was not as relatable as the first one for the audience in Punjab. The local feel has become so important for not just Punjabi cinema but for all regions of India today.

MANJE BISTRE 2 which was a sequel to the BLOCKBUSTER MANJE BISTRE could not open well. There was an elementary mistake of taking the film Overseas which makes it less relatable but still it was shocking for a sequel of a much loved film to be open this low.

The film could not even make the top twenty openers in Punjabi cinema (GROSS BOX OFFICE) and it puts the film is a poor position. The reports seen decent but the film will be less relatable for the audience in Punjab from the first film and where do you go from this low start. At worst it should have been in top ten opening days of Punjabi cinema and but it failed to get into the top twenty.
