The success of Golmaal Again (2017) and Stree (2018) has made Bollywood wake up to the genre of horror comedy. mid-day has now learnt that Sunny Leone is ready to try her hand at the genre with her next, Coca Cola. After a string of special appearances and dance numbers, this will mark Leone's first feature film in Bollywood since Tera Intezaar (2017).
Confirming the news, producer Mahindra Dhariwal says, "We have signed Sunny Leone for the horror comedy. I thought this is the right time to explore the genre since the audience has taken a shine to it. We have already registered the title so that there is no copyright issue in the future."
Refusing to divulge details about the film's premise, the producer — who has previously backed Bhaiaji Superhit (2018) and Maa Tujhe Salaam (2002) — intends to take the project on floors by June. "Most portions will be shot in Dehradun, Mussoorie and Haridwar in a start-to-finish schedule. We are in the process of finalising rest of the cast."
Sunny Deol's Bhaiyyaji Superhit to clash with Salman Khan's Tubelight on Eid

Since 2009, Salman Khan has always greeted movie-goers on Eid with all his films proving to be record-shattering blockbusters. This Eid too, the superstar’s Tubelight is slated to hit theatres, but unlike previous years, he will have a competitor at the box office. The makers of Sunny Deol-starrer Bhaiyyaji Superhit, which has been in the making for almost six years, have also zeroed in on the festive date.
Bhaiyyaji producer Mahindra Dhariwal says, “We are in talks with distributors, who have warned us about Salman’s Tubelight. It’s a fact that he is a superstar, but we too are confident of our film and so, it doesn’t matter whoever comes alongside us.”
Dhariwal feels a festive occasion can accommodate two releases. “In the past, we have had many instances when two hit screens and both did well. Besides, we are presenting Sunny in a new avatar. He has a double role in the film and I am sure his fans will love him.”
The makers are eyeing around 2,500 screens. “The distributors are saying we may not get the desired number of screens, so we are okay with even 2,000 screens. I am not worried at all,” Dhariwal adds.
Sunny has also given his consent to an Eid release. “When I shared my plan with him, he said, ‘You are the producer and know best for the film. If you are fine with it, I am too’. I am aware they [Salman and Sunny] are good friends, but this clash won’t affect their friendship."
