Leo collects 18.30 cr in 9 days in Hindi

The dubbed Hindi version of Tamil film LEO had a decent eight day week of 17.25 crore nett and comfortably scored over the original Hindi film GANAPATH. The film even scored better than GANAPATH in circuits like East Punjab, Rajasthan and West Bengal where dubbed films are weaker. The film scored a solid 7 crore nett plus total in Mumbai circuit.
The film has a very good chance of being the best collecting Hindi film this week and remain there till Diwali as next week will also see weak films. The film can go to the 25 crore nett mark and that will by far the highest total for a dubbed South film this year.
The film remains on course to be the second highest grosser ever for the Tamil industry as it should beat the numbers of JAILER. But the figures of 2.0 look a tough ask since that film had a crazy contribution from Hindi markets with over 45% coming from Hindi circuits alone on all formats.

The dubbed Hindi version of Tamil film LEO did well as it collected 1 crore nett on its second Friday to take its total to over 18 crore nett and the film now easily get a total of over 25 crore nett and may even do 30 crore nett business.
LEO was the leading film wherever it was playing as it did not release in the multiplex chains but wherever LEO, TEJAS and 12TH FAIL were all being screened, LEO (Hindi) had far better collections. In a circuit like Gujarat, it was over 20 lakhs nett while the new releases could not do 10 lakhs between them.
The film continues to be strong in Tamil Nadu and is looking to be the highest grosser ever in that circuit. LEO has also done a huge number overseas with collections close to $20 million after eight days. It may beat the $23 million of JAILER. The film had collected 455 crore plus worldwide in its first seven days and should hit the 500 crore mark by the end of its second weekend.

The dubbed Hindi version of Tamil film LEO saw a good jump on Tuesday due to a holiday for Dussehra as it collected around 2.60 crore nett taking its overall total to 14.50 crore nett. The first week should do around 17 crore nett depending on the drop today (Wednesday).
The film will dependent on the second Friday numbers and if it can hold it can turn out to be a decent filler over the dull period and an average runner as far as business in Hindi goes. Down South, the film is extraordinary collecting around 235 crore nett in its first six days. The holiday period is over in Southern states and collections will also come down here.
The home market for the market Tamil Nadu is close to125 crore nett apprx in six days and the highest collection ever in the state is 173 crore nett. Although it looks an easy target from here, these films are very front loaded. Hence, it remains to be seen if it can cover another 50 crore.

The dubbed Hindi version of Tamil film LEO is a success as it saw a good hold on Wednesday with collections going close to 1.40 crore nett which is 20% down from the Friday post the holiday period. The film is an AVERAGE fare and basically turned out to be a good filler in this period.
The collection so far are 16 crore nett and the extended first week will now go above 17 crore nett. Wherever the lifetime finishes for the film another 30-35% can be added for the film not playing in the four biggest chains. Normally 55-60% of the business would have come these four chains but if these chains had played then the collections would have been lower at the cinemas which have played.
The business will get no where close to compensating the digital loss if the film went for a eight week window but its turned out a nice little runner for the theatres which have played it. The target for the film is now to be the top film in the second weekend which is possible as the new Hindi releases don't look that good for opening day collections.
The collections for the film in Tamil Nadu are 132 crore nett in seven days and the all time record here is 173 crore nett of PONNIYIN SELVAN. JAILER earlier this year did around 158 crore. The all India collections of the film are around 250 crore nett in seven days on all formats.

The dubbed Hindi version of Tamil film LEO had a good hold on Monday as it collected in the 1.9-2 crore nett range which is better than the collections on Friday. It is the Dussehra period that is aiding the collections with the holiday today (Tuesday). Even allowing for this, the hold is pretty good on Monday.
LEO (Hindi) has collected 12 crore nett so far and could do around 17 crore nett over its eight day first week which is pretty good. The film could turn out to an average fare if it can hold up through this pre Diwali period. The collections are best in Mumbai circuit with good numbers in Maharashtra and Gujarat.
The film remains strong in Tamil Nadu and Kerala on Monday as there this holiday period is also strong. Across India, the film crossed the 200 crore nett mark on Monday.
The four day weekend collections of the film were as follows. For comparison the biggest Tamil films are JAILER at 340 crore and 2.0 at 400 crore and LEO will be chasing these two films.

The dubbed Hindi version of Tamil film LEO did pretty well as it collected 10 crore nett over its four day weekend with healthy collections over the weekend. The film did not play in the four biggest national chains as the makers were not prepared to go to the eight week window which is the case with all original Hindi films.
Its obvious the decision was correct as the film may have done 15 crore nett with the bigger multiplexes but its not a break out film in the Hindi circuits. The final business would not even come close to compensate on the loss revenue in digital which the longer window would have bought.
The numbers are mainly good for two reasons as one, the trailer pretty much seems like a regular South film and on top the collections are better than GANAPATH. The VIKRAM factor probably aided the collections of the film as that film found takers post release. It is a different story down South as its on record breaking spree with collections in the range of 155-160 crore nett in South India. The Hindi circuits are 10 crore in Hindi and 3 crore nett in regional languages which means the film has collected somewhere in the 170 crore nett range over its four day weekend.
The three day weekend is the biggest for a South Indian film this year and the fourth biggest if you bring Hindi films into the equation with ADIPURUSH (bilingual) JAWAN, PATHAAN and GADAR 2 being bigger. The film beat the numbers of the Rajinikanth starrer JAILER which collected around 138 crore nett in ist first four days as compared to 170 crore nett apprx here for LEO. This is probably the comparison as its apples for apples.
The film set records in Tamil Nadu and Kerala with highest ever collections in these two circuits be it for day one or opening weekend.

The dubbed Hindi version of Tamil film LEO had a drop on day two as it collected 1.75 crore nett and despite the drop, these collections are still decent. Actually they are blockbuster level if you consider the numbers of GANAPATH. The Tamil and Telugu versions have seen bigger drops and have just contributed only 25 lakhs nett on day two for a total of 2 core nett from the Hindi circuits while day one was almost 4 crore nett.
The trailer of the film is nothing much but it has got some audience in due to the film being a part of the VIKRAM world which has done well post theatrical on digital. There should be some good collections over the weekend as whatever this film is, its better than GANAPATH.
The film remains strong in the South with Tamil Nadu holding up extremely well. The second day across India should be come in at 35 crore nett plus which would be adding to the 62 crore nett on day one.
