Rapper Raftaar and his wife, interior designer Komal Vohra, are parting ways, officially. Their six years of marriage is likely to end in October this year.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2016, has been living separately for some time now, and from what we have gathered exclusively, the two filed for divorce in 2020, around the time of the pandemic, which led to the delay in the final proceedings.

A source close to the couple confirms, “Everything was delayed due to the pandemic. They will sign the divorce papers on October 6.”

 According to our insider, the couple’s problems began “only a few days after their marriage”. 

“Both have moved on in their respective lives and the couple, along with their families, remain cordial,” adds the source, who further reveals that “only close ones know about this”.

When we contacted Vohra, the sister of TV actors Karan and Kunal Vohra, she confirmed our report but declined to comment. Raftaar, whose real name is Dilin Nair, on the other hand, did not respond to a request for comment, despite repeated attempts.

It was “love at first sight” for Vohra and Raftaar when they met at a friend’s place in 2011. They tied the knot after five years of dating.

Back then, Raftaar posted pictures from his wedding ceremony and wrote, ‘Married to my soulmate’. Currently, the two have unfollowed each other on social media and deleted their pictures.

After Neil Nitin Mukesh who had a roka ceremony with fellow Mumbaikar Rukmini Sahay in October and is scheduled to tie the knot next year, rapper Raftaar aka Dilin Nair is the next groom-in-line. The “Instagram Love” singer who had a roka ceremony with fellow Delhiite Komal Vohra in the presence of family and a few friends in February is set to get hitched in December. The couple will also have an engagement ceremony on November 28 in Delhi.

“Komal and I met at a mutual friend’s residence five years ago and hit it off instantly. She has been very supportive and patient during my struggling phase. We decided to get married as I’m more settled in my career,” beams Raftaar who will be wearing sherwanis designed by his friend Mayur Kataria for all the ceremonies, beginning with a satsang on November 26, followed by sangeet, mehendi and a dhol night. A surprise performance by the 28-yearold musician in which he will sing all his ladylove’s favourite songs, including “Raabta”, “Samjhawan” and “Sniper”, is also in order.

Incidentally, Raftaar’s bride-to-be who is an interior designer running her own company has showbiz connections from her side of the family as well. Her elder brother, Karan, plays the male lead in Zee TV’s Zindagi Ki Mahek, while the younger one, Kunal, is a part of the supernatural show Brahmarakshas.
