The actor feels that being in a relationship may upset the equilibrium with his kids. He adds, “After our divorce, my kids stay with me. My daughter is 17 and son is 10 years old. They are mature for their age and have accepted the fact that their mother remarried a few years ago. My son was a little shocked initially, but later, he came to terms with it. My daughter felt that it was better to have two happy homes than one unhappy home. So, we have struck a happy life balance. I have always let my kids meet their mother whenever they want — it is not only about meeting on the weekends. In this calm and happy scenario, if I get a companion or find a life partner, I don’t know how my kids will react. They are more important to me than anything else.”
Khalid shares why he does not feel lonely. He said, “Everyone wants to live a stress-free life. I have many friends and don’t feel lonely. I am a happy soul. I don’t feel the need for a companion.”
On the work front, Khalid is currently playing father to a 25-year-old in the TV show Shaurya Aur Anokhi Ki Kahani. Ask him if he is happy graduating to father roles and he says, “In television, it is always about the role rather than playing a father or mother. Of course, when I was cast for it many felt that I looked like Karanvir Sharma’s older brother, but I like my character. TV is a learning medium and I have learnt many things about acting. However, it is also unpredictable, tracks and characters can change any time depending on the viewership. On the other hand, the web world is opening up many options for actors.”

Actor Khalid Siddiqui, 41, was arrested earlier this week by the Khar police after he had an altercation with his estranged wife Raahat. The incident occurred around 3 am on Wednesday outside the apartment of his 'girlfriend' in Bandra, where Siddiqui allegedly molested Raahat in front of the building's watchmen.
Siddiqui was later granted bail by the Bandra court after he claimed there was no intention to outrage his wife's modesty, and that despite their separation technically she was still his wife.
Siddiqui and Raahat, who have a son and daughter, have been living separately for two years. As per an arrangement, both children stay with Siddique and his father, but visit their mother on weekends and holidays.
According to the complaint filed by Raahat, who works as an interior designer, Siddiqui had not been taking care of their children and "abused and molested" her when she objected.
"My son was extremely unwell when he came over on Friday (September 25), due to which he missed school the following Monday too. I dropped him off at our house in Versova on Tuesday, but Khalid wasn't there. Later that night I saw his car parked below his girlfriend's house, just a stone's throw away from my own house in Bandra. I tried calling him, and later her, but in vain. They did not answer my calls. This was around 2 am," Raahat said.
"Furious that my son was unwell at home and Khalid was busy with his girlfriend, I started screaming his name. He immediately answered his phone the next time I called, and said he was coming down, but did so only after an hour," she further said.
Raahat alleged that Siddiqui then tried to suffocate her and molested her while the security guards simply looked on. At 3.30 am, she approached the police. "They registered a case but arrested him only at 6.30 am. The problem is that Khalid, despite earning so well, doesn't want to fund my children and me."
Siddiqui was booked for molestation, assault and criminal intimidation. He then filed for bail claiming there was no intention to cause harm and marital dispute was the prime reason for the complaint. "We told the court that this was only a dispute between husband and wife, and that there was no real case made out against him. They might be living separately, but he is still her husband. In fact, it is his wife who is creating problems in his life," Siddiqui's lawyer told Mirror.
