The Hollywood releases continue to dominate the box office as F1: THE MOVIE is a SUPER HIT film while JURASSIC WORLD: REBIRTH has emerged a HIT film and SUPERMAN has done well over the first two days. SUPERMAN picked up 7.25 crore nett on day one and its second day business will cross the 10 crore nett mark. The Sunday growth will be muted but a 28-29 crore nett weekend means good business.

F1: THE MOVIE is outstanding as it collected 34.75 crore nett in week one followed by 25 crore nett in week two. It has collected a further 4.50 crore nett in two days of its third week which gives the film a total of 64.25 crore nett. The third week drop is because it has lost the IMAX screens to SUPERMAN but still the film looks to be going towards an 80 crore nett plus finish which is a superb number for a film of this genre.

JURASSIC WORLD: REBIRTH collected 56.50 crore nett in its first week and then added around 3.15 crore nett on its second Friday. It has seen phenomenal growth on its second Saturday as collections are set to be around the 7 crore nett mark which means a 66 crore nett total after 9 days. The film is a HIT and has a shot at 100 crore nett for its lifetime business.

METRO...IN DINO collected 15.75 crore nett over its first weekend thanks to good growth on Saturday and a good follow up on Sunday. However the Sunday has seen all films jump well with even the Hollywood releases showing good jumps. The film has done better in Mumbai, Mysore and West Bengal which is the opposite to SITAARE ZAMEEN PAR which is scoring better in North. Both films target the gentry audiences but seeing regional differences in terms of box office.

METRO...IN DINO is set in four metros Mumbai, Delhi, Pune and Kolkata; it is Delhi which should have got more collections but here, its the other three centres that have done well. The film is dependent on the Monday and a 2 crore nett plus total is a must to give it a chance for some sort of run.

JURASSIC WORLD: REBIRTH has done good business in the first week with a decent jump on Saturday after a good start on day one. Even Sunday saw some healthy growth especially comparing to other Hollywood releases. The weekend is also the best 3 day weekend for the franchise in India but it remains to be seen how it holds over the weekdays as reports for the film are middling.

Sunday - 15,75,00,000 apprx

JURASSIC WORLD: REBIRTH dominated the box office with a solid 13.50 crore nett on day two adding to the 9.25 crore it picked up on day one. This takes the film to 22.75 crore nett and the film is on course to record a higher weekend in India than the last film of the franchise released in 2022. Also, there are no paid previews this time like it was for the 2022 film.

The weekend is going to be good though not great. So, it is about where the film goes on from Monday onward. Only one film in the franchise has got to the 100 crore nett mark; that would be a very good result if the film can get there but there is a long way to go.

METRO...IN DINO showed a good jump of around 70% as the collections went to 5.75 crore nett. The jump was a must for the film; if it had jumped 50%, then it would have not been good considering the opening day of the film. The two day numbers are 9 crore nett. Now, the film is in a better position than it was on day one with this growth. The next test is Monday where it needs a strong hold and then maybe it can get a decent run.

SITAARE ZAMEEN PAR roughly doubled its collections on its third Saturday with 4.50 crore nett apprx. But the film is doing well on weekends anyway and it drops on weekdays more than it should be having. The third week is looking to have drop of over 50% despite this growth. 

Hollywood is dominating the box office as the two biggest titles playing are both Hollywood releases which is rarity apart from maybe the pandemic time or when for some reason Hindi and regional films were not in play. JURASSIC WORLD: REBIRTH has opened to 9.25 crore nett which is the best opening day for the franchise if we don't add the paid previews to the first day.

The last film in 2022 had opened to 8.25 crore nett though it had paid previews worth 3.50 crore nett. The weekend total of that film was 36 crore nett including paid previews and JURASSIC WORLD: REBIRTH has a chance to beat that. The first film of the franchise opened to record breaking collections in 1994 but after that, its never been the same. However, all films from the franchise have done well.

F1: THE MOVIE is fantastic as it collected 3.25 crore nett on its second Friday taking its total to almost 38 crore nett. The film is super strong in the national chains (PVR Inox, Cinepolis) as 90% of the all India business on day eight comes from these chains driven by IMAX screens. The way this film is going it will comfortably score a second week of 20 crore nett but as SUPERMAN releases next week, it will lose the IMAX screens which will hit collections hard. But some IMAX screens should return a week later for the film to add more good totals. The film is a bona fide HIT and may well finish around 70-75 crore nett.
