JUDWAA 2 is a SUPER HIT and has had an excellent first week of 95.25 crore nett apprx with chances to emerge the biggest hit of 2017 for the Hindi film industry. The film had very good start and then took full benefit of the holiday period and then crucially has held up strongly post the holiday period. The first week has emerged the third highest of the year after TUBELIGHT and RAEES if we dont include BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION but that does not tell the complete story as it is higher than these two films at many stations. In Delhi/UP and Bihar, even the circuit figures are the highest of the year outside BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION. In the all time list it is the 21st highest first week of all time and in the same range as DILWALE (2015).

The job for the film was done over the holiday period but it was important to hold well after the holidays if it was to really go on and put up a big number and that is what has happened. The film now look set to rack up good numbers till Diwali. The film has CHEF as competition this week but this battle is Hindi cinema (JUDWAA 2) versus foreign cinema disguised as a Hindi film (CHEF) so in reality its not really competition as Hindi cinema is far superior for the Hindi film audience.

The second Friday number will give an idea of its lifetime business and although its a clear run it has to go past TOILET - EK PREM KATHA in three weeks as then the Diwali films will come and JUDWAA 2 will not add much after week three.

JUDWAA 2 put held up strong on its first working day with collections of 7.50 crore nett apprx. This has taken the total collection of the film to just under 84 crore nett. This hold on Tuesday means the film is set for a strong run till Diwali. The chance is there to be the highest outright Hindi grosser of 2017 depending on that crucial hold on second Friday. TOILET - EK PREM KATHA which is the highest grosser of 2017 grossed around 94 crore nett in its first week and this film will probably end up with a little more than that. The film is doing its best business in UP, Bihar and Central India markets after the holiday period and it is these markets which will lead now. The film has done the best business in multiplexes of A centres like Jaipur, Lucknow, Indore etc and it is this business which is crucial for a major hit.

JUDWAA 2 put up another very strong day with 18 crore nett apprx coming on the holiday for Gandhi Jayanti which has taken the total of the film to over 76 crore nett. The collections of the film were higher than day one and the drop was less than 20% from Sunday. The share of the film is already around 40 crore in just four days which is fantastic and HIT business but now the holiday period is over so you still need to hold well enough to have a good run till Diwali. The business is huge in Delhi/UP with around 18 crore nett in four days and Bihar is phenomenal though the final figures for Monday are yet to come. The collections of JUDWAA 2 over the first four days are as follows

There will be a drop in collections today (Tuesday) and will be a bit more than if it was the normal first working day as the film has consumed so much business over the first four days but after the drop it should settle again and take advantage of the weak competition coming this week.

JUDWAA 2 had an excellent second day as collections look to be in the 20.25 crore nett range which takes the business of the film to over 36 crore nett. The film had a very good first day and was boosted by partial holidays in some places so despite it being a holiday for Dusshera on Saturday you would have had doubts for this type of 25% plus growth but it has come through in a big way. The first day collections of the film had beaten the first day of JAB HARRY MET SEJAL and the second day has beaten the second day of TUBELIGHT and both these films are far bigger than JUDWAA 2.

JUDWAA 2 looks set to be a winner which is rarity this year and it will be the collections on Tuesday that will confirm this. The collections of the film are excellent in practically every circuit across India. Mumbai circuit which was on the lower side on Friday due to it being last day of Navratri has shown huge gains on Saturday. Delhi/UP is fantastic and East Punjab also showed big gains on Saturday. West Bengal is the biggest plus for the film due to the holidays there, this would have been weakest circuit but in two days it has done excellent business. Bihar is continuing its record breaking run. In two days in Bihar it has done business which is same as four days of TUBELIGHT  and one week of JAB HARRY MET SEJAL.

The Sunday collections will possibly be affected a little by the cricket match but it should be another big day and then there is the holiday for Gandhi Jayanti on Monday which should also be very good for collections.

JUDWAA 2 has had an excellent weekend as collections went over 58 crore nett for the weekend. Even if we take out the holiday factor the film would still have easily crossed 50 crore nett. The holidays have probably boosted it by 4-5 crore nett. The trend over the weekend was also very good as it even managed to show growth after the holiday on Saturday. The performance of the film has been outstanding in Bihar and West Bengal and some of this is to with Durga Puja there. Delhi/UP is also huge as the weekend alone has gone to 13.50 crore nett. The collections of JUDWAA 2 over the first weekend are as follows

There is a holiday for Gandhi Jayanti on Monday and collections will be strong and it will be Monday that everything will be back to normal. A fair hold there will confirm just the second HIT of this quarter and then the second Friday will tell where this film can go. In terms of weekends it is the fourth highest this year and the 19th highest of all time.
