The new release GUMRAAH opened to poor collections as it collected a little over 1 crore nett with likely collections in the 1-1.10 crore nett range. The collections are pretty much in the range of other films like AN ACTION HERO and KUTTEY. But GUMRAAH had a holiday for Good Friday and so, the fair value is less. There was a film RASHTRA KAVACH OM with a similar cast but that opened better as it was an action film rather than a thriller like GUMRAAH though the difference is just 15-20 lakhs.

There have been other films with the same title and its sheer coincidence they have come every 30 years. GUMRAH (1963) proved a SUPER HIT while GUMRAH (1993) proved a success but in 2023 it will will be totally different result. Maybe spelling the name wrongly and adding an A was not a clever idea. Jokes aside, its sad that these films have to come in cinemas in order to get the digital revenue.

There were a couple of Hollywood releases also like THE SUPER MARIO BROS MOVIE and THE POPE'S EXORCIST and the collections were around 1.50 crore nett and 1.25 crore nett respectively.

JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4 is proving to be a HIT film as it look set to cross the 50 crore nett mark by the end of its run. The total so far is around 43 crore nett plus and it should reach the 50 crore nett before Eid. Hollywood has seen HITS post the pandemic in India but its generally been big franchise films and some of these have not even been able to get to the Hit mark.

JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4 can also be called a franchise film but the earlier films hardly had any numbers in India. The last one released in 2019 and hardly got into double digits.

The collections of JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4 till date are as follows

Friday - 1,00,00,000 apprx

JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4 has done well in its first week with a box office collection of 34 crore nett. The film had a very good weekend but collections did come down on the weekdays and then it got hit the release of BHOLAA as collections dropped further on Thursday.

The film is a success in India and the second weekend will determine if the film can become a hit. Even if collections drop in the second weekend, it has given exhibitors a good week.

BHEED is a total disaster as it collected 1.75 crore nett in its first week. The film hardly had any collections over the weekdays.

JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4 had a drop in collections on Monday as it fell over 55% but these are still good collections for the film as the opening numbers were very good. The film has a total of 29 crore nett so far and the week should be around 35 crore nett.

JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4 can still emerge a HIT in India but it depends on how the second Friday and second weekend goes. Although it may be a task, the 50 crore nett mark is a big number for this film.

The collections of BHEED till date are as follows.

Friday - 40,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 55,00,000 apprx

Sunday - 50,00,000 apprx

JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4 has done very good business over its initial weekend of around 26.50 crore nett including paid previews. The film had little franchise value in India as all previous films could not even collect 15 crore nett between them though none of them were dubbed. The bulk of the collections here are in English also but a dubbed version gives a film extra reach.

There was no growth on Sunday but that is a norm for Hollywood. Moreover, the film did jump very strong on Saturday and this gives the film a chance of emerge the first HIT.  A lot depends on Monday but as long as there is a normal fall and holds through the weekdays, it will emerge a HIT.

The collections of JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4 till date are as follows

Thursday - 2,50,00,000 apoprx

Friday - 6,00,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 9,00,00,000 apprx

Sunday - 9,00,00,000 apprx

BHEED collected a terrible 1.50 core nett over its first weekend. The film could not grow on Sunday even with its paltry collections which tells the story of this film.

The collections of BHEED till date are as follows.

Friday - 40,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 55,00,000 apprx

Sunday - 50,00,000 apprx

JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4 showed strong growth on Saturday as it picked up 9 crore nett which takes the collection of the film to 17.50 crore nett. The film may well repeat the Saturday collection on Sunday which will mean a weekend of 26 crore nett plus which is excellent for this film.

The trend on Saturday means this film can emerge the first HIT film for Hollywood outside the Marvel franchise and AVATAR post the pandemic. A lot depends on Monday but as long as there is a normal fall and holds through the weekdays, it will emerge a HIT.

The collections of JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4 till date are as follows.

Thursday - 2,50,00,000 apoprx

Friday - 6,00,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 9,00,00,000 apprx

BHEED has collected around 1 crore nett in two days as it failed to gain much on Saturday but this was pretty much expected.

The collections of BHEED till date are as follows.

Friday - 40,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 55,00,000 apprx

JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4 is doing very well as it picks up around 9 crore on day one plus paid previews. This is the first time the franchise has been dubbed as the earlier releases saw releases only in English. The combined lifetime total of all the JOHN WICK films is around 14-15 crore nett and this is looking to cover that in two days only.

The opening of the film is pretty similar to the opening of THE BATMAN released around one year back and that film is a far bigger franchise in India. It was a Wednesday release for THE BATMAN but still to be in the same range as that film is excellent for a film like JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4.

The collections of JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4 till date are as follows.

Thursday - 2,50,00,000 apoprx

Friday - 6,50,00,000 apprx

The Hindi release BHEED was horrible as it collected the 40-45 lakhs. It is a Black and White film released in 2023 and that says it all. BHEED belongs to a side of the industry which believes they are making classics and good cinema and push this perception despite the audiences making sure there is a zero bheed for the films. For this masterpiece, they can claim that it is the biggest opening ever for a black and white film.
