JAWAN had another extraordinary week as it collected around 9 crore nett which is the fifth highest fifth week ever and it seems like more records are to come on the sixth Friday due to the National Cinema Day. JAWAN is the accepted film that are running and its likely it will show the biggest jump on National Cinema Day. It may even be the top collecting film even though it will be the sixth Friday.

The business on Friday is likely to mean that the sixth weekend is bigger than the fifth weekend for the film. The film is continuing to put up strong collections deep into its run and by coincidence, PATHAAN also did not show a drop between week five and week six.

The difference of business between PATHAAN and JAWAN is what happened between week two and week four. It was these three weeks which made the difference.

JAWAN has crushed all records in the Nizam/Andhra circuit as it hit the 70 crore nett mark including the Telugu version. The Hindi version of the film alone is going to be collecting over 39 crore nett. Just a few months back, PATHAAN had a set new record of 38 crore nett beating DANGAL by a huge 17 crore nett.

The real story of Jawan in Nizam/Andhra are the Telugu version as it collects over 30 crore nett and is the fifth highest grosser in the circuit this year and this includes all South films including the local Telugu films. The top grossers in the circuit this year are WALTAIR VEERAYYA with 150 crore nett, ADIPURUSH with 124 crore nett, VEERA SIMHA REDDY with 91 core nett, BRO with 80 crore nett and then JAWAN with 70 crore nett.

Obviously its not much of a year for Telugu cinema but still to be ahead of most of the local films is an huge achievement for JAWAN as it beats the numbers of films like JAILER (Rajinikanth) and DASARA (Telugu HIT film). Before JAWAN, there was PATHAAN which also did 50 crore nett plus in the circuit.

PATHAAN is also the highest grossing non South film in Nizam/Andhra ever as it edged past the numbers of Hollywood release AAVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER. It has not been able to match the business of AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER across South India but Nizam/Andhra is better.

JAWAN continues to do strong business as it collected 6 crore nett apprx in its fifth weekend taking its overall total to 552 crore nett. The film recorded the best occupancy of all the Hindi films out there be it new or old. The drop is more than the last weekend but was boosted by the buy one get one free scheme. The trend this weekend may actually be stronger if we take out the scheme and holiday factor from last week.

The film has set such numbers in the southern circuits that it will be a big task for any film to beat. Nizam/Andhra will hit the 40 crore nett mark while Mysore should end at around 48 crore nett and TNK should be around 19 crore nett. This is the first 100 crore nett in South in Hindi language and there will be another 60 crore nett apprx in regional for a huge 167 crore nett in South which is second to AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER for a non South films. If we count all South films as well, even then JAWAN will get into the top fifteen highest grossers in South India.

The fifth week may not set records but after such a huge run and bringing in a week five which is among the top five or six of all time is no small achievement
