After starring along side Amit Sadh in Tigmanshu Dhulia's short film Baarish Aur Chowmein, Taapsee Pannu will be seen with Sadh in Vinay Jaiswal's Happy Diwali. The actors filmed with Jaiswal in Mumbai in mid October.
"It's a 6-7 minute film and captures the relationships between family members, during Diwali. We shot for two days and it was quite hectic but we had a lot of fun," Taapsee, who also stars with Amit Sadh in Amit Roy's directorial debut Running Shaadi.com, says. "It's pretty interesting because while both of us are very different people in real life, all the directors we have worked with have praised our chemistry. I enjoy working with him," the 28-year-old actress says about her frequent co-star.
While she admits that writing a script for a short film is quite challenging given its time frame, Taapsee enjoys working on feature films more. "I enjoy living my character for a longer time. I missed being on the sets of Happy Diwali because the film was completed in two days," she smiles. So what made her take up the two shorts? "I can't really say no to a good director and a great script. I loved the story of Vinay's film," she explains.
Taapsee is all praise for the filmmaker, who has directed Manoj Bajpayee and Raveena Tandon in another short titled Jai Hind. "He makes films around specific occasions, with an aim to convey a strong message. It was great working with him," she says, adding that the online platform is doing wonders for the short film format.
She also refutes reports of her and Amit coming together, yet again, for a Tigmanshu film. But she has signed two new films, one of which will start early next year and the other, later. "But I can't talk about it now, the filmmakers will make an official announcement soon," she signs off.

A couple of weeks back,
the extremely talented director Sujoy Ghosh took to
directing a short film titled Ahalya with the legendary Bengali actor
Soumitra Chatterjee and the beautiful actress Radhika Apte. The
film not only went viral, but was much appreciated and discussed. Apart
from it just being a thrilling and chilling film, it was Sujoy's
expression of the story of Ramayana's famous character Ahalya. Manoj
Bajpayee and Raveena Tandon have earlier worked together in two
critically acclaimed films Shool (1999) and Aks (2001). We have now
learnt that they have
come back to do a short film together that has been directed by
Vinay Jaiswal. The film titled Jai Hind brings out the
importance of Independence Day and has been shot in South Mumbai and a
restaurant in Kurla over just two nights and will soon be out online in
the coming week. A short film is not just short in duration, but it also
has the luxury of being experimental without any risk or pressure of
the box office. Top Hollywood directors have made short films for the
longest time to express their creativity. Given that now the Indian
directors and audiences seem to be attracted to the idea of making and
watching such films, we can hope to see many more such films in the
future.
