HATE STORY 2 collected a pretty good 21.75 crore nett in its first week. The collections were good over the weekend but the film fell on Monday as despite being fairly steady after that collections remained on the lower side.

The difference between HATE STORY released in 2012 and this film is the multiplex business business. That film grossed 12 crore nett lifetime while this will do around double of that film. The film could have done better if it was not Ramadan as a multiplex dominated circuit like East Punjab is the best circuit as others have been affected by Ramadan. The film could have scored higher figures in Gujarat, CP Berar, CI, Rajasthan, Nizam and East.

The film has been a good filler for one week but will not add much more business and will be lucky to hit the 25 crore nett mark for lifetime business.

HUMPTY SHARMA KI DULHANIA grossed 19.25 crore nett in its second week taking the two week business to 70 crore nett approx. The drop week on week is 62% which is good. The film continued with strong business in the North in week two but some circuits did drop by over 70% as HATE STORY 2 dominated the single screens.

The second week figures are the sixth best of the year after HOLIDAY - A SOLDIER IS NEVER OFF DUTY, 2 STATES, JAI HO, EK VILLAIN and QUEEN. Barring QUEEN, all the others were bigger films.

There will be a big fall in week three due to the release of KICK which has meant HUMPTY SHARMA KI DULHANIA has just two screenings at most multiplexes. the film is likely to finish with around 72 crore nett busines.

HATE STORY 2 fell a little over 50% which is higher than the norm but still it has decent figures for the first four days. The daily four day business is as follows.

Sunday - 5,00,00,000

TOTAL 16,40,00,000
The film will gross around 21.50 crore nett in its first week but with KICK releasing on Friday it will be lucky if it gets to 25 crore nett. Still the film will cover costs thanks to the good weekend.

HATE STORY 2 did well in its first weekend as it grossed a little over 14 crore nett. The film always had a chance of doing well at single screens but it is the multiplex business which is better than expected and helped to a good first weekend total. The weekend business is as follows.

The film did not grow much on Sunday as it had nothing for the families. The Sunday collections were similar to day one. The film would have probably emerge a hit if it was not for the release of KICK with collections of 30 crore nett. But now it will have to settle for lower unless it surprises with good numbers after the release of KICK.

HUMPTY SHARMA KI DULHANIA had a good second weekend of around 13.25 crore taking its ten day total to around 64 crore nett. It was again North india leading the way with Delhi/UP grossing nearly 3.50 crore nett and East Punjab around 1.60 crore nett. The drop from first weekend is just a little over 60%.

The film did fall in mass circuits like CP-CI, Nizam and Bihar as these circuits are dominated by single screens and HATE STORY 2 has scored very well in these circuits. The film will cross the 70 crore nett mark but it is likely that KICK will stop it going to 75 crore nett.

HUMPTY SHARMA KI DULHANIA is the fourth biggest hit of the year till date after EK VILLAIN, 2 STATES and HOLIDAY - A SOLDIER IS NEVER OFF DUTY.
