HONSLA RAKH has taken the post pandemic business of Punjabi films to a new level as it collected 12.35 crore nett in its first week. The comeback started with PUAADA in August which with a limited release as it collected 3.90 crore nett (8 days) in week one.
This was followed by CHAL MERA PUTT 2 which collected 6.75 crore nett in its first week a couple of weeks after Puaada. Then came QISMAT 2 which had first week business of 10.60 crore nett (8 days). And now HONSLA RAKH has gone over the 12 crore nett mark in week one which has only been achieved by two other films in the history of Punjabi cinema.
It has taken two months to get here and now with 100% occupancy to be allowed soon, its business back to normal and the right film released at the right time can actually break all time records, not just post pandemic records. Actually once 100% occupancy is allowed there would be no post and pre pandemic as far as Punjabi films go.

The film remained rock steady showing a drop of just 6% due to the super strong collections in Punjab. There is likely to be a drop in Punjab on day seven and the film will probably add another 1 crore nett all India for a week of 12.50 crore nett which will be huge.

HONSLA RAKH continued with strong business on Tuesday with collections in a similar range to Monday as it collected around 1.30 crore nett. This takes the five day business of the film to over 10 crore nett.
There will probably a bigger drop over the next two days and the week will probably settle at around 12.25 crore nett. Then it will be about the second Friday and where that lands to see if it can get to that 20 crore nett benchmark.
The collections were also super strong in Overseas on Monday as it reached $1.35 million in four days. the film may well be looking at a figure around the 30 crore mark for first week worldwide business.

HONSLA RAKH had a strong hold on Monday as the film dropped just 46% from Friday which was a holiday for Dussehra. The drop from Sunday is only 51%. The film has so far collected 9 crore nett with almost 1.40 crore nett coming on Monday.
The drop is a little more in East Punjab as the smaller areas were always going to drop a little more after the weekend but Delhi city is still seeing phenomenal collections as it will collect 30 lakhs nett plus on Monday compared to the 50 lakh nett on Friday which is a drop of less than 40%.
HONSLA RAKH is probably looking at a first week in the range of 12-13 crore nett in week one and is pretty much certain to be the highest grossing Punjabi film post the pandemic and limited competition in Punjab and Delhi till Diwali could take it to the 20 crore nett benchmark.

HONSLA RAKH had an outstanding weekend collecting around 7.75 crore nett over the first three days which is easily the highest pots pandemic weekend for a Punjabi film and the third highest weekend ever for a Punjabi film.
This has come with restriction rules and if these were not there you can add another 1 crore nett to the film for the weekend which would mean that it would have challenged the biggest openers ever, that is, SHADAA and CARRY ON JATTA 2.
The collections in East Punjab are excellent but its Delhi/UP where collections have been phenomenal; it earned 1.86 crore nett in the circuit which is unheard of for a Punjabi film. Delhi city itself has contributed 1.40 crore nett and this three day number in Delhi city is similar to the four day number of BELLBOTTOM
HONSLA RAKH has just not scored in India but overseas as well where the weekend number may well in the $1.1-$1.2 million range which will mean worldwide GROSS somewhere in the region of 17-18 crore.
The nett collections of HONSLA RAKH in India till date are as follows.
Friday
East Punjab - 1,75,00,000
Rest - 80,00,000
TOTAL - 2,55,00,000
Saturday
East Punjab - 1,64,00,000
Rest - 66,00,000
TOTAL - 2,30,00,000
Sunday
East Punjab - 1,95,00,000
Rest - 85,00,000
TOTAL - 2,80,00,000
Weekend (3 days)
East Punjab - 5,34,00,000
Rest - 2,31,00,000
TOTAL - 7,65,00,000
-----------------------------
HONSLA RAKH became the highest grossing Punjabi film worldwide over the first weekend as it grossed around 17.50 crore beating the figures of SHADAA and CARRY ON JATTA 2 which were 16 crore and 15.25 crore respectively.
The film did business of 7.65 crore nett in India which is 9 crore gross apprx and in overseas the film grossed $1.15 million which is around 8.50 crore. The opening weekend overseas was an all time record beating the $975k of CHAL MERA PUTT 3 released a few weeks back.
The overseas business of Punjabi films seems to have gone a notch higher post the pandemic and this is without a huge market like Australia struggling at present due to Covid-19. When this market goes to normal, the $4 million mark is not going to look huge for Punjabi films like it did before the pandemic.

HONSLA RAKH continues its run on Saturday as it collected 2.30 crore nett giving it a 4.85 crore nett two day total. The drop was just 10% on the second day and this was coming off a Dusshera holiday.
The drop in East Punjab was not even 10% as it collected 1.64 crore nett compared to the 1.75 crore nett on day one which is just 6% down. This gives the film a chance to hit the 2 crore nett mark on Sunday in East Punjab which has not happened for any film since SHADAA in 2019.
There is no doubt that the film will be the biggest Punjabi grosser post the pandemic and the target will be the 20 crore nett mark where only four or five films have got in the history of Punjabi cinema. This will depend on the hold on Monday.
The collections of HONSLA RAKH till date are as follows.
Day One
East Punjab - 1,75,00,000

TOTAL - 2,55,00,000
