SHAADI KE SIDE EFFECTS grossed 30.80 crore nett in its first week though it could not do much in the weekdays after a decent weekend. The film fell on Monday and although the weekdays did not see major daily falls, the weekday contribution was just 9 crore nett approx against the 21 crore nett approx weekend..

The film actually grossed good numbers over the weekend in Delhi, East Punjab and Mysore but these circuits fell badly on the weekdays. The circuits that did not gross that well actually held up better like Rajasthan and CI as there was limited downside.

SHAADI KE SIDE EFFECTS is likely to witness a major slide in week two as there are three new releases which will lead the market. It initially seemed that the film  may emerge a decent or even good fare after the weekend but the Monday changed all that and now the film will be lucky to even cross 40 crore nett

Meanwhile, HIGHWAY dropped in its second week as it collected 5.42 crore nett it its second weekend taking its two week gross to around 26.19 crore nett. The film had grossed around 21 crore nett in week one giving a drop of around 75%.

The drop is in the normal range for week two but a film like this should be sustaining better as its tight release gave it a chance to have a decent run for a few weeks. But the appreciation is missing as the second week figures are less than HASEE TOH PHASEE which collected 6.75 crore nett.

This collections are also less than a film like YAARIYAN which had a pretty decent start but then fell away badly but even that film managed to collect 6.75 crore nett in week two. HIGHWAY will finish its lifetime run at around 28 crore nett which is not impressive. 

HIGHWAY dropped on day eight grossing around 70-75 lakhs nett. The drop came as it had the same target audience as the new release SHAADI KE SIDE EFFECTS. HIGHWAY was doing its best business in North and that's where SHAADI KE SIDE EFFECTS has its best numbers.

HIGHWAY will see a good jump on Saturday but its overall weekend growth is dependent on how SHAADI KE SIDE EFFECTS fares. If the latter is not up to the mark then the former will see more growth.

The total business in eight days is around 21.52 crore nett and the lifetime business of the film is looking to be in the 28-29 crore nett range.

Meanwhile, GUNDAY fell in week two collecting around 12.76 crore nett taking its two week total to around 70.81 crore nett. The drop at the start of week three is huge and the film is unlikley to add much more business.

HIGHWAY grossed around 21.75 crore nett in its first week as it held steady on the weekdays and then got a boost for Maha Shivratri on Thursday. It is the opening that has let the film down as start was low and the growth on Saturday and Sunday was lower than it needed to be.

The collections of HIGHWAY are less than HASEE TOH PHASEE which collected 27 crore nett in week one and YAARIYAN which collected 24 crore nett in week one. Both these films were also targeting the multiplex youth and had lower costs.

HIGHWAY is looking at a 30 crore nett finish on a best case scenario as there is a flow of releases for the multiplex audience starting this week with SHAADI KE SIDE EFFECTS.

The film is holding up pretty well on the weekdays with low collections but it really needed a good second week to pull through. But SHAADI KE SIDE EFFECTS s is likely to take away its audience in week two. A 30 crore lifetime total is looking out of reach.
