We were the first to tell you how Shailendra Singh had turned director with his hatke comedy Gupta Clinic. The film, set in South Mumbai, is a slice-of-life quirky film about an interesting Guptaji who advises people on their physical relationships. We have now learnt that famous Guptaji will be none other than the very talented actor Saurabh Shukla. Apparently in the film, he has clients right from the paanwallah in South Mumbai to the rich and the famous who are grateful to him for having sorted out their relationship issues. It is difficult imagining Saurabh giving relationship advice, but, may be, that's what makes him special for this role. Well, if Saurabh masters this role, who knows we may find Shailendra opening up a relationship clinic one day.

Voted the 12th most powerful person in Filmfare's Power list in 2009, Shailendra Singh, 48, has produced over 72 films over 28 years. Being India's first talent manager, he has not only given Bollywood a lot of talent, but has successfully managed their brand endorsements.

Creator of the cult Sunburn festival, having written a best-seller and having created many large-sized Bollywood events, he spoke to us about his motivation for getting into direction. "28 years has been the foreplay, directing a movie is the orgasm for me now. In my journey of Bollywood, be it getting endorsements for Bollywood or giving a stage to Shah Rukh and Amitabh to dance, having given my shoulders to several directors to narrate their stories and after empowering so many people in Bollywood, I felt the need to tell stories myself now. I have always loved telling stories. The film I will direct is a 'Com Com', a Commercial Comedy. The genre of the film is a unique space. I get disturbed when cinema is classified. My first film has a format of all kinds of story- telling formats, be it documentary fiction and non-fiction, all mixed up, tied up in a manner that the audience gets its money's worth," he says. Much like Shailendra himself, who is a South Mumbai stylish person, who is essentially desi at heart and a little whacked out otherwise, his film is titled Gupta Clinic and is a South Mumbai-based slice of life quirky film about an interesting Guptaji, who advises people on their physical relationships.

Knowing how many people Shailendra has given advice to in his own life and the fact that he is naturally whacked out himself, the film should be a fun ride.
