GUNDAY had a good first week of around 58.05 crore nett. It was helped by a good weekend while the weekday collections were on the lower side. Still the film has come out with a healthy first week total.

The film has done good to reasonable business in most circuits though it has under performed in Southern and Eastern markets. GUNDAY has done better business at multiplexes than single screens even though it is an action film probably because the stars don't have enough of a following amongst the single screen audience.

The film is a success even though the weekdays were on the lower side. The strong Valentines Day opening and decent enough follow through on Saturday and Sunday ensured this. There will be a another drop today due to release of HIGHWAY as that film has a good release at multiplexes meaning a big drop in screens for GUNDAY.
----------------------
GUNDAY grossed around 2 crore nett on its eighth day which is drop of 85% on day one but it get a boost from Valentine's Day on its first day. The week on week drop will probably settle in the 75-80% range as the film dropped on the first Saturday but will show growth on the second Saturday.

GUNDAY has now collected around 60.05 crore nett in eight days and although its not sustaining strongly its not that bad either and should pick up another 8 crore nett approx over the second weekend.

The film has fared very well in Gujarat/Saurashtra belt which may be due to the growing fan following of Ranveer Singh in the area as GOLIYON KI RAASLEELA RAM-LEELA did phenomenal business in the region which probably gained him popularity.
----------------------
HASEE TOH PHASEE had a decent second week grossing around 6.88 crore nett in week two. The collections are around 34.50 crore nett two weeks which is decent.

The film dropped around 73% from the first week which is good considering the release the competition of big film like GUNDAY and a huge reduction screens as it had to with one screen per multiplex. The film was helped by Valentine's day as that day showed good numbers.

There will be a drop in collections in week three as its target audience will now go to HIGHWAY as that film is in the same space and has the same target audience where HASEE TOH PHASEE fared well.

GUNDAY grossed around 5.75-6 crore nett on Monday as per early estimates. Its a 60% drop from Friday but that was Valentines Day so was a bit higher than it should have been.

The Monday figures are at a decent level but the trend suggests that it'll be extremely difficult for the film now to be a huge grosser, which initially it seemed so, especially after it's huge opening. The week is looking to be in the 60 crore nett range which is good but mainly thanks to the good weekend and especially a great first day.

It remains to be seen what sort of numbers can it add after the first week as there is competition over the next two weeks especially where multiplex business is concerned.

Gunday collects 40.25 cr in 3 days; Hasee Toh Phasee 32 cr in 10 days

GUNDAY had a big drop on day two as it collected around the 10.50-11 crore nett mark. The drop was expected as day one benefited from Valentine's Day. But the drop should have been around 15-20% and the film has dropped around 25-30% which is a cause for concern in terms of long term business

The drops were across the board with all circuits dropping and the film has now collected 25.50-26 crore nett in two days which is still good but the trend does not look strong.

Sunday will see an upward trend again but with that drop on Saturday it will be a tough ask for the film to get back to the Friday levels.
---------------
GUNDAY had a good weekend as it collected around 40.25 crore nett over its first weekend. The film was good in most circuits with only Mysore really under-performing. There was a drop on Saturday but that was partly to because the first day had collections that were a little higher than they would have been normally due to Valentine's Day. Breakup:
Friday 15 crore
Saturday 11.25 crore
Sunday 14 crore

The business in multiplexes across India was better than single screens despite it being an action masala film.. GUNDAY is a success but it is the weekdays that will tell if the film can become a major hit.

Its difficult to tell what the weekend trend was as that depends on the Valentines Day benefit. If it benefited by 1-1.50 crore then the trend is not that good but if the benefit was 2.5-3 crore then its a decent trend. It is due to Valentine's Day that the collections are lower on Sunday than Friday which is a rare especially for a film scoring at multiplexes.
---------------
HASEE TOH PHASEE had a decent second weekend considering the release of GUNDAY and the fact the film came down to just 400-450 screens. It grossed around 4.50-4.75 crore nett over the second weekend taking its two week total 32 crore nett.

The collections were aided by good figures on Friday due to Valentine's Day abd so the growth was minimal over the weekend. The film is now sure to hit the 35 crore nett mark which makes it a higher grosser than films like YAARIYAN and DEDH ISHQIYA.

It will be reasonable tally at the end considering the film has only really worked in a handful of big cities and that too just the main metros..
