Maera Mishra, who was last seen in the TV show, Bahu Begum, has joined the cast of Guddan — Tumse Na Ho Payega. The actress has been in the news for her personal life, too. While there have been rumours of her dating actor Adhyayan Suman for some time now, she has never spoken about it. However, for the first time, while talking to BT, Maera admits to being in a relationship with him.
She shares, “I first met Adhyayan at a party in 2018 and then, he started messaging me on Instagram. I didn’t pay much heed initially, but gradually, I fell in love with him. In fact, I proposed to him on New Year’s eve (2019). I wrote him a love letter, my first one, went down on my knees and asked him, ‘Shaadi karoge mujhse?’. His reply to my letter was the romantic song, Soniyo 2.0. Later, I featured along with him in its video, too (smiles!).”
However, she says that they have no immediate plans to tie the knot. Maera says, “Our career is our priority at the moment. I certainly wish to get married to him, but if it isn’t meant to be, we will accept it. I am just 23 and it’s too early for me to think about it.”
Talking about their relationship, she adds, “We have evolved and grown together. Adhyayan guides me, because he is more experienced. I have seen him get over his past relationship with great difficulty. He has battled depression and anxiety. I have tried my best to pull him out of it; it took time, but we are doing great today.”
On the work front, ask her if she was apprehensive about joining Guddan - Tumse Na Ho Payega midway, and she replies, “In any case, I don’t like to associate with a show that runs indefinitely, because one graduates to playing a mother and a grandmother, eventually. I don’t want to play a mother at this stage of my career. In Guddan, I am playing a mother, but not a biological one. Besides, my character has both negative and positive shades.”
Can a daily soap episode be shot from home? Guddan cast attempts it

It’s been more than a month since all shoots — TV, films and commercials — came to a halt in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic. While the industry is waiting with bated breath for normalcy to return, the makers of Guddan — Tumse Na Ho Payega have decided that the show must go on. In a first, the cast of the daily soap shot for an episode from their respective homes, yesterday. It’s too early to say whether this will become a common practice in the current situation, but yes, it definitely seems to be an idea worth exploring.
Nishant Malkani, who plays the male lead, confirms, “Yes, it’s a trial and we hope for a smooth run. We are shooting on our phones within the confines of our homes. Later, these independent videos will be patched, giving the feel that we shot together. The first scene we shot was a video chat between my wife, family members and me.”
Nishant adds, “It’s going to be tough because acting is all about action and reaction, but here, we will be shooting all alone, imagining our co-actors’ response in a scene. If the trial episode works out well and is approved by the channel, we plan to shoot five episodes every week and telecast fresh content. We will have to make do with whatever clothes and accessories are available.”
His co-actor Anuj Kohli shares, “It’s a different and exciting opportunity. It’s all about using technology wisely. We will receive our dialogues and briefs on the scenes well in advance. The directors will approve our shots, which will finally be woven together and edited.”
