GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 collected a fair 35 crore nett in week one as collections held up well on the weekdays until a drop came came on the final day of the week. Still it is trending well for this type of Hollywood film and should put up healthy numbers over the weekend.
The performance of the film is going to be better than ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA which collected 41 crore nett plus. GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 may well have covered this by the end of the second weekend and if not, it is certain to be higher by the end of week two.
The top film from Hollywood this year is JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4 with collections of 50 crore nett and GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 has a chance of chasing that down. But with FAST X releasing next week, it could be that 50 crore nett is not the highest number by the time GUARDIANS gets there.
The first week collections of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 are as follows.
Friday - 6,75,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 7,75,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 8,50,00,000 apprx
Monday - 3,25,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 3,00,00,000 apprx
Wednesday - 3,10,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 2,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 34,85,00,000 apprx

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 had seen a fair hold on Monday as it collected 3.25 crore nett. The drop is a little more than 50% but films likes these have been seeing drops of 60-70% on Monday. ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA dropped over 70% on Monday.
A film that did well like THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER also dropped more than this film. Generally, these action films from Hollywood where day one is driven by advances have seen big drops on Monday.
The collections of the film are now 26 crore nett and with this Monday hold it should do well well on weekends and can target the 50 crore number or at least get close. If this happens, it will be a decent result as 50 crore nett is a solid number for this franchise which has never found an audience in India.
The four day collections of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 are as follows.
Friday - 6,75,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 7,75,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 8,50,00,000 apprx
Monday - 3,25,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 26,25,00,000 apprx

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 had a moderate weekend of 23 crore nett as the film failed to build on a decent start. The jump on Saturday should have been more and Sunday was par for the course for Hollywood. The fact that the film comes under the Marvel brand meant good advances and healthy weekend collections.
The growth of the Marvel brand in India has meant that films associated with the brand are getting some collections but the real thing is AVENGERS or SPIDER-MAN as far as box office goes. The huge DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS initial was because the character came in the SPIDER-MAN film just a few months earlier.
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 1 did 11 crore nett and GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 managed 16 crore nett. This film has already surpassed the lifetime collections of part one and two despite not really doing well. It has been left behind by THE KERALA STORY which had a similar first day but Sunday is 90% higher. However, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 has played its part in a good weekend for cinemas as it pushes the combined weekend to 56 crore nett.
The three day collections of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 are as follows.
Friday - 6,75,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 7,75,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 8,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 23,00,00,000 apprx
