GOLMAAL AGAIN had another solid week of 14.75 crore nett apprx taking its total collections to 197.50 crore nett. The film should reach the 200 crore nett mark on Sunday and although now 200 crore nett has been done a few times but what makes it different for GOLMAAL AGAIN is that it is a first for a Diwali release as no film has touched 200 crore nett with a Diwali release. If we take out BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION then its the Eid and Christmas films that have crossed 200 crore nett which means that GOLMAAL AGAIN is the first 200 crore outright Hindi film outside an Eid or Christmas release. The collections of GOLMAAL AGAIN till date are as follows.

SECRET SUPERSTAR grossed 5 crore nett apprx in week three to take its three week total to 60 crore nett plus. The film has been eclipsed totally by GOLMAAL AGAIN but the race was not really against GOLMAAL AGAIN but find appreciation in hold at the box office. But as the audience did not care much for the film then it was hardly going to hold at the box office.

GOLMAAL AGAIN has emerged the highest NETT grossing Diwali release of all time as it crossed the 194.30 crore nett of PREM RATAN DHAN PAYO with a figure of 195.50 crore nett apprx in nineteen days. The GROSS figures are still short of PREM RATAN DHAN PAYO though. The film will be the first 200 crore nett Diwali film. Diwali is still not reaching the levels of Xmas or Eid as the combined business of GOLMAAL AGAIN and SECRET SUPERSTAR will be around 265 crore nett but films be it solo or two releases have gone past 300 crore nett on Eid and Xmas..

It would have been interesting if GOLMAAL AGAIN was the only Diwali release as could it by itself gone higher than 265 crore nett or the 2 crore odd footfalls it has got was its total audience and a solo release would have made little difference. This is something that will never be known but the fact is Diwali has some catching up to do and maybe THUGS OF HINDOSTAN next year will make Diwali catch up. The biggest blockbuster on Diwali since 1990 onward remains DILWALE DULHANIA LE JAYENGE which has an adjusted ticket price nett gross of around 475 crore nett. This is followed by RAJA HINDUSTANI and KUCH KUCH HOTA HAI at 400 crore nett and 350 crore nett respectively.

GOLMAAL AGAIN is looking set for a third week total of 14.50-15 crore nett which will mean a three week total of 197.50 crore nett. The film has had a very strong since release and is looking to finish around the 205 crore nett mark which will make it the first film to cross 200 crore nett on Diwali and the the 9th highest grossing film ever.

It is easily the highest grossing film for Ajay Devgn beating SINGHAM RETURNS but for the director Rohit Shetty its unlikely to have the legs to catch CHENNAI EXPRESS at 208 crore nett. GOLMAAL AGAIN recorded very good collections in the third weekend as it face compeition fron new releases like THOR: RAGNAROK and ITTEFAQ but it made little difference to the film as recorded weekend business over 10 crore nett with a solid Sunday of 4.50 crore nett plus. The film is now cruising to the 200 crore nett mark and will probably get there by the end of its fourth weekend or at least be very close.

GOLMAAL AGAIN will also become the highest grossing Diwali film in the next few days as it goes past the 2015 release PREM RATAN DHAN PAYO which did a little under 195 crore nett. It is going to the first time that a film will breach 200 crore nett on Diwali. Even when there have been two films on Diwali the 200 crore nett figure combined had not been reached before GOLMAAL AGAIN. The collections of GOLMAAL AGAIN till date are as follows.

GOLMAAL AGAIN looks to be heading to hit the 200 crore nett mark. The film has grossed around the 2 crore nett mark on its third Friday which is a very good considering the competition around it especially THOR: RAGNAROK which has come out of the blue. GOLMAAL AGAIN has done its job and is a BLOCKBUSTER but the third Friday keeps it in the race for 200 crore nett which has only been achieved by 9 films and GOLMAAL AGAIN will probably become the tenth to join the list. The third Friday was the crucial one as the film faced competition and it could have dropped which would have left it with little hope of 200 crore nett.

The collections of the film are around 184 crore nett and with the big growth to come over the weekend it should cross 190 by the end of the weekend. The end of the third week will see it become the highest Diwali grosser ever and the 200 crore nett mark will probably come in week four or week five or even later.

SECRET SUPERSTAR also did fair business on its third Friday at around 80-85 lakhs nett. The film has actually trended better than GOLMAAL AGAIN at the start of the third week as it has dropped 60% while the GOLMAAL AGAIN drop is around 70% but that is because GOLMAAL AGAIN was collecting at a much higher level in its second week. The collections of SECRET SUPERSTAR are now around 56 crore nett and it should cross 60 crore nett pretty comfortably.
