BAAR BAAR DEKHO had a poor first week of around 29 crore nett as the film struggled from day one barring select premium multiplexes of North India. The film catering mainly to these multiplexes needed to show 30-40% on Saturday but could only go up 15% which made it impossible for the film and its fate was sealed on Sunday as collections fell from Saturday. There was the Eid period on Monday and Tuesday but that did little to help the film as it hardly got any boost in collections. The Overseas market fared better but for this genre it should have been even better. The second week will see limited collections and there is little chance for the film to cross the 35 crore nett mark.

FREAKY ALI also had a poor first week of around 12 crore nett though the film did trend better than BAAR BAAR DEKHO and was actually collecting more than the bigger film at many stations from Tuesday onwards. The film is unlikely to add another 6 crore nett which would make its all India distributors safe but it may score over BAAR BAAR DEKHO in the second week which would be a victory over the bigger film however minor victory it may be.

The other release EK KAHANI JULIE KI was washout and removed from theaters very early in its run.

The holdover AKIRA also fared badly and is looking at a lifetime total of 27 crore nett.

FREAKY ALI got a little jump on Tuesday due to Bakri Eid and some places had a holiday. The collections of the film were similar to day one at 1.75 crore nett. The holiday is not too big especially this time as it was declared holiday on Monday but Eid fell a day late in India and so some places had the holiday on Tuesday. The jump was mainly outside the big metros. The first week collections of the film will now probably go to 12 crore nett. The film needs 18 crore nett for recovery of the price paid for its domestic theatrical rights which is probably just out of reach unless Friday can show a fall under 60% from the first Friday. Despite low figures the film has already crossed the business of RAMAN RAGHAV 2.0 which had the same lead and finished with business of 6.80 crore nett.

FREAKY ALI grossed 1.25 crore nett on its first Monday. The film has dropped around 30% from its very low start on Friday but should have really been doing the same business as it did on day one if it was to survive especially as it was a part holiday. The collections showed better holds at mass centres due to Bakri Eid. The likely scenario for the film is it can hold steady over the weekdays but with low collections, Eid holiday will be on Tuesday at places. The film is unlikely to recover and week one will probably go to around 11.50 crore nett.  The first four day collections of FREAKY ALI are as follows.

The final result of the film will not be good but it still has a target and that is to catch BAAR BAAR DEKHO. The first day gap was 5 crore nett which has come down to 1 crore nett on day four.  BAAR BAAR DEKHO is a much bigger film and just to be matching the daily collections of that film would be a victory for FREAKY ALI however minor it may be.

FREAKY ALI showed reasonable growth on Saturday of around 40-45% though collections are on the lower side. The domestic theatrical rights have been sold for 8 crore. So its not too bad though if the collections were 20-25% higher, it would be actually be looking to pull through as far as that 8 crore recovery is concerned. The bigger problem is the cost of the film which will either need good returns from other sources like Overseas, television and digital or huge overflow to come from domestic above the 8 crore price which is unlikely. The first two day collections of FREAKY ALI are as follows.

The reports of the film are so so but it has a character artiste as the main lead and that reflects in collections. But even here if you compare the openings of Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrers then FREAKY ALI is on top.

FREAKY ALI may have an outside chance to recover the price of its domestic rights but overall recovery is a huge task.

FREAKY ALI grossed 7.25 crore nett in its first weekend which is a low total. The film managed some decent growth on Saturday but Sunday could not do too much. The collections are better than other Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrers like MANJHI - THE MOUNTAIN MAN (6.17 crore) and RAMAN RAGHAV 2.0 (3.84 crore). Its even probably better than TE3N comparatively as that featured Amitabh Bachchan also but only managed 11.13 nett. The problem is when the audience sees a character artiste as the main lead it is hard to get them to the theatres even if the content is strong. Not that its the case here but the film is probably a little better than the figures suggest. The first weekend  collections of FREAKY ALI are as follows.

There is a holiday on Monday for Bakri Eid which will help on Monday but its not a full national holiday so its likely the collections will jump in parts of some circuits.
