FAST X is holding up well post its first week and will cruise past the 100 crore nett mark soon enough. It may even get there by the end of the week and become the top film of the franchise as far as business in India goes. The domestic box office in US is not too good as its unlikely to reach the numbers of FAST & FURIOUS 9 despite that film releasing amidst the pandemic.

FAST X has around 95 crore nett up on the board so far and will beat the numbers of KISI KA BHAI KISI KI JAAN by the end of its third weekend. It will probably be a 115-120 crore nett finish for the film which will make it the fourth best Hollywood performer post the pandemic after AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER, SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME and DOCTOR STRONG IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS.

FAST X has held well on Monday with collections a little above 6 crore nett which gives it a five day total of 67 crore nett. The drop is 50% but it is very good for this film due to to it being an extended weekend, a front loaded genre and on top, a huge drop in ticket rates.

The film is a HIT and its the second HIT for Hollywood in India this year after JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4 but that film was not a huge grosser. The first week for the film will now be heading for the 80 crore nett plus mark and then will continue to get numbers over the subsequent weekends due to the lack of competition.

May was expected to be dull but the success of THE KERALA STORY and now FAST X has actually made it a good month.

FAST X scored a very good weekend of 61 crore nett which is easily the best for Hollywood this year and better than most Hindi films. The numbers are also the best ever for the franchise beating FAST & FURIOUS 7's number, which was released in 2015.

There is fatigue for the franchise as no doubt the brand value is hugely important but at some time the brand value hits a peak and unable to go further. Here its the tenth installment of the film. The numbers are very good but still it was expected to give higher numbers as business of these films is front loaded and also, there was blockbuster ticket pricing.

There is going to be a drop on Monday as the high ticket rates come down and hopefully it is in that 60-65% range or less so it can gain good traction again over the second weekend. The drop is also likely to be more than normal due to the extended weekend.

FAST X may emerge a HIT film as it showed a good jump on Saturday to collect 17 crore nett. The growth on Saturday was 20% which is less than normal but it was a Thursday release and Friday also showed growth. Also a circuit like Nizam/Andhra has a high ratio and growth there is going to be limited.

The collections of the film so far have reached 43 crore nett and it will easily cross 60 crore nett which will be the best opening numbers for the franchise beating FAST & FURIOUS 7 which had collected 46 crore nett in four days. The three day collections of FAST X are also better than all Hindi films except PATHAAN and KISI KA BHAI KISI KI JAAN.

The Monday is crucial for the film being a HIT and it is likely to be front loaded due to extended weekend and genre. But as long as the drop is not too much, it will benefit on weekends and open run to easily take it over the 100 crore nett mark and thus emerge as the top film of the franchise.

FAST X did well again on Friday as it made healthy gains on its second day of almost 10% which is a good sign though its the growth today (Saturday) is crucial. The film managed collections around the 13 crore nett mark on its second day which takes the collections to 25 crore nett over two days.

The trend is good on Friday and this film has chances to emerge a HIT if collections get a good lift on Saturday. The Friday number also keeps it in with a chance of being the biggest film of the franchise in India. The film is performing better in the South as compared to Hindi circuits with very good collections in Nizam/Andhra as this circuit collects around 4 crore nett in two days. Tamil Nadu and Mysore have also done well.

FAST X is the tenth installment of the franchise and as has been seen recently with these franchise films there is some fatigue with just 4th and 5th films and here it is the tenth film.

FAST X opened with a good opening day as it collected 12 crore nett with dubbed versions also doing decent business compared to many of the Hollywood releases lately. The advances of the film were so so. But it picked up well from the afternoon to put up a good first day.

The opening will be the highest for the franchise if the final number comes out at 12 crore nett. FAST & FURIOUS 7 may well have a higher reported number but due to release on non 2k compliant cinemas. The reporting you can say was a bit like South films over the first weekend as FH and MGs are put into weekend numbers rather than the whole week which is how its normally done by the studios.

FAST X is the highest opening for Hollywood this year and the fifth best post pandemic. Its a solid start for a film and that too on a Thursday and hopefully the hold is there today which will set it up for very good weekend numbers.
