On May 28 this year, Farah Khan fractured her right leg while shooting for the reality show, Dance India Dance, following which she was advised bed rost Now, the director has injured herself again, after tripping on an uneven pavement when she went to pick up son Czar from his piano class. This time it’s her left leg and once again she’s been advised bed rest. But Farah plans to continue with the shoot of Sunil Grover’s show, Kanpur Wale Khuranas, without a break.

The shoot is currently in progress at a suburban studio and Farah has already wrapped up a few episodes. The show will start airing from December 17. “Fortunately, a major part of the shoot requires her to be seated," informs a source close to Farah who is making her acting debut on TV playing the Khuranas’ neighbour whose visitors mistake their house which is right opposite, for hers leading to a comedy of errors. Though she wouldn’t be a part of all skits, she will raise laughs passing expert comments on performances by the comic actors.

Earlier this month, Farah Khan injured her leg while shooting for a TV show and cheekily reached out to Rajkummar Rao, requesting him to send across his crutches and ankle brace. The actor had suffered a fracture in October last year while shooting for a guest spot on the choreographer-filmmaker’s TV show. Soon afterwards, celebrity friends and wellwishers started flocking Farah’s Andheri residence to check up on her. “Half of them are clearly coming over just for the food (which is fine). They bring their own dabbas to take some back,” Farah joked while talking to Mirror.

Besides food, Farah’s wheelchair that she is currently using to get around has also stole her thunder, with everyone making sure to pose with it. “The idea came from my friend Pammi. I am bed-ridden so if you want to talk to me, you’ll have to sit in the wheelchair which is kept next to my bed. Pammi suggested that I start a photo-blog with similar pictures of all my guests,” informed Farah, whose wheelchair album now boasts of several names including Shahid Kapoor, Anil and Sunita Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty, Javed Akhtar, Sonu Sood, Zoya Akhtar, Kunal Kapoor with wife Naina Bachchan, among others.

While she is nearing the end of her unplanned timeout — the cast comes off in a day or two — Farah revealed that besides being entertained by her guests, she has been utilising the downtime scripting her next film. “It’s giving me some time to sit with my writers and work on some scripts.”
