DJ-ing feels like a new fun chapter in my life-Riya Sen

Eshna Bhattacharya (BOMBAY TIMES; September 14, 2025)
Riya Sen, best remembered for her glamorous and bold film and music video appearances, has now stepped behind the DJ console, making her debut as Riyaa Senn. With a new name and a fresh vibe, the actress and model who got married in August 2017 and has since appeared in a few films and shows like Call Me Bae, is now diving into Bolly-tech beats and preparing to connect with desi audiences worldwide. In this chat, she opens up about her DJ debut, the reason behind the extra ‘a’ and ‘n’ in her name, and more.
How it all started
It all started when Riyaa’s friend, who owns an artiste management and booking agency, texted her saying he loved the music she posted on her social media handles. “He was the first to tell me that I should think about DJ-ing. I took the cue, enrolled in a short DJ course, and voila – I was hooked!” says Riyaa.
What excites you most about your DJ debut?
Honestly, it feels overwhelming. I’m shy, nervous, and excited all at the same time. I’m getting numerous calls to perform across India, and feeling truly grateful for this platform and all the love coming my way.
What vibe can people expect from your set?
Bolly-tech all the way. It’s fun, desi, and connects me with the huge Indian diaspora worldwide. One can expect a mix of nostalgia, energy, and total dance vibes.
Why add an extra ‘a’ and ‘n’ to your name?
It’s just me reinventing myself with new energy and a new vibe.
Where do you plan to perform next?
I’m looking at gigs globally – UK, UAE, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and of course America, now that I’ve got my O1 visa. There’s such a huge desi community everywhere, and our music makes them feel right at home. I can’t wait to connect with them through music.
Is DJ-ing just a passion project or a career move?
As an actress, model, and influencer, I love evolving and changing. DJ-ing started as fun, but now it feels like a strong new chapter that adds beautifully to everything else I do.
------------------------------------------
Why did I change the spelling of my name? It’s about reinventing myself with a fresh energy & vibe. It’s a new role for me, after all
------------------------------------------
At first, my family thought this was just another phase, because I love enrolling in courses, but after the success of my first event, they’ve been immensely supportive
Saif Ali Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat to kick off second schedule of Jewel Thief in Mumbai from April 7

Saif-Jaideep set to kick off second schedule of heist thriller Jewel Thief in Mumbai from April 7; to wrap up film in May with elaborate stint in Europe
Upala KBR (MID-DAY; March 27, 2024)
You can’t blame us for keeping an eye out for Jewel Thief. After all, Robbie Grewal’s directorial venture brings two powerful performers Saif Ali Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat on screen together. While the Siddharth Anand-backed heist thriller went on floors in February, we now hear the team is gearing up for its second schedule in Mumbai that kicks off in April, which will be followed by the final leg in Europe.
Guess we can expect a battle of wits as Khan and Ahlawat’s characters are pitted against each other in the thriller, which is penned by Grewal, Anand and Sambit Mishra, and is centred on a high-stakes robbery. A source reveals that in the first schedule, the actors shot a chunk of action sequences and some dramatic portions.
“The second schedule begins from April 7 during which Saif and Jaideep will shoot critical portions across real locations in south and suburban Mumbai. It will be a 20-day stint after which the unit will head to Europe for the final leg. The director plans to film some songs and an action sequence in the foreign stint. He is currently on a recce in Europe and will lock the locations by the weekend. Robbie’s plan is to wrap up the project by May,” reveals a source.
Jewel Thief marks Khan’s first collaboration with Ahlawat, who, only months ago, featured alongside the former’s actor-wife Kareena Kapoor Khan in Jaane Jaan (2023). Grewal, who previously helmed Aakhri Sach (2023) and RAW: Romeo Akbar Walter (2019), says working with the two actors has made him admire their craft even more.
“While I have seen their work before, it’s a great joy to now make a movie with them. They are perceptive, sensitive and intelligent actors,” he shares.
Ever since the film was announced last May, rumours have been rife that it is a remake of Dev Anand’s 1967 popular thriller of the same name. Grewal dismisses such talk, stating, “Our film is not a remake, sequel or prequel, nor does it have any connection to Dev saab’s movie of the same name. All I can say is that the narrative is completely different.”
Hrithik Roshan, Kiara Advani to kick off War 2 shoot in Europe in October

Pre-production on War 2 begins, with Hrithik and Kiara expected to kick off shoot in Europe in Oct; Jr NTR to join the actioner in second schedule
Upala KBR (MID-DAY; August 30, 2023)
Over the past few months, War 2 has been hitting headlines for various reasons— from Jr NTR and Kiara Advani joining Hrithik Roshan, to Ayan Mukerji taking up the directorial baton from Siddharth Anand. Now, it’s time for Roshan’s character Kabir, one of the pillars of YRF’s spy universe along with Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan and Salman Khan’s Tiger, to get into action mode. mid-day has learnt that the director has begun pre-production and plans to take the project on floors in October.
So, what’s on the agenda for Roshan’s R&AW agent-gone-rogue character? For starters, Europe. “Ayan will conduct the first schedule in the picturesque locations of Europe with the lead pair. For now, a few Mediterranean countries are being considered. Obviously, it all depends on the team procuring visa, and other travel logistics. Hrithik and Kiara will shoot several action set-pieces during the two-week stint,” reveals a source.
Simultaneously, the production design team will construct elaborate sets in a Mumbai studio for the next leg. “War [2019] was one of Bollywood’s hyper-stylised spy thrillers. Producer Aditya Chopra and Ayan want to up the ante with the sequel. They will have huge sets erected, which will serve as backdrops for high-octane action sequences.”
It will be a relentless stretch for leading man Roshan, who will focus on War 2 from October to January next year, squeezing in a patchwork shoot for Fighter in between. Jr NTR will join the team in the second schedule. While little is known about his role, one can assume, going by the two actors’ social media posts, that his character locks horns with Roshan’s Kabir. As soon as the Mumbai stint is wrapped up, the cast and crew will head to Abu Dhabi in November.
The source adds, “Jr NTR will begin filming portions from November, going on till January. If things go as per Adi and Ayan’s plan, a chunk of the espionage thriller will be completed by early next year.”
The Immortal Ashwatthama's shoot pushed to August as unit awaits visas for Europe shoot

Mohar Basu (MID-DAY; July 22, 2021)
Director Aditya Dhar’s wait to take his magnum opus, The Immortal Ashwatthama, on floors continues. Initially hoping to call ‘action’ on the Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan-starrer by April in Europe, the filmmaker had to defer his plans to July in light of the second wave of the Coronavirus pandemic. Cut to the present day: Dhar has no option but to push the schedule a second time around. While the safety concerns and the floods in Europe are among the factors prompting the decision, the primary reason is the delay in procuring visas.
If things go as per plan, Dhar will kick off his modern interpretation of the journey of Dronacharya’s son by August. A source says, “The team is awaiting visa clearance, which takes longer in the post-pandemic times. First, Aditya will travel with a lean team for the recce. He has not finalised the countries, and the venues may change, depending on the situation in Eastern Europe. The rest of the unit will join them only after the on-ground checks have been cleared. Vicky is likely to start the film between mid- and late-August, after wrapping up Mr Lele.”
The director has utilised the past six months perfecting the storyboard to ensure a smooth start-to-finish schedule for the “part mythological, part sci-fi” affair.
mid-day reached out to Dhar and the production team, who didn’t respond till press time.
Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif to begin Tiger 3 shoot from July 23

After a three-month break due to lockdown, Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif set to resume Tiger 3 shoot in Andheri from July 23; international leg slated for August
Upala KBR (MID-DAY; July 10, 2021)
All has been quiet on the Tiger 3 front over the past three months as the film’s shoot was abruptly halted in mid-April due to the second lockdown in the state. Soon, as per producer Aditya Chopra’s instructions, the set at SRPF Grounds in Goregaon was dismantled after it was partially destroyed due to Cyclone Tauktae. Since then, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif have been patiently awaiting their turn to return to the universe of the big-budget spy thriller. Now, it is learnt that Chopra has given the go-ahead, relieved in the knowledge that the entire crew has got at least the first dose of the vaccine. The team will resume work from July 23.
Director Maneesh Sharma has begun the prep for the two-week schedule that will be conducted at the Yash Raj Studios in Andheri. “Of the cast, only the leads will report to the set for the first few days. Maneesh sir wants to film a few dramatic sequences with them,” reveals a trade source. Emraan Hashmi, who plays the antagonist to Khan’s RAW officer Avinash Singh Rathore, will join his co-star in this leg to shoot a pivotal confrontation scene.
The makers have decided against reconstructing the set — a replica of a Middle-Eastern market — at the Goregaon ground even though a few portions remain to be filmed. The source adds, “With the situation improving, Aditya and Maneesh are keen to pursue their plan of an international schedule. The team is likely to head out of the country post August 15. While the destinations have yet to be locked, Europe and the Middle East form a part of the narrative. So, they thought it would be wiser to shoot the remaining portions at a market in Dubai.”
Meanwhile, Khan wrapped up the shoot of 'Antim: The Final Truth' last week. Besides filming some talkie portions with Aayush Sharma at Film City and Byculla, he shot for a song with Pragya Jaiswal.
We don’t know whether vaccine certificates are acceptable for travel, says The End producer Vikram Malhotra

Eager to roll The End, creator-producer of Akshay’s web debut says lack of clarity regarding international travel rules delaying the project
Mohar Basu (MID-DAY; July 2, 2021)
Even as producer Vikram Malhotra doled out three films in the past 12 months, including the recent Sherni, he has had his focus constantly trained on his passion project, The End. Akshay Kumar’s maiden OTT project, which has to be shot in foreign locations, has not got off the ground due to the pandemic-induced travel restrictions. Though Europe has reopened its borders for fully vaccinated travellers, the producer says that lack of clarity on several counts has made him play the waiting game.
“We’ve been speaking to authorities and their local counterparts to understand the protocols [for international travel]. We don’t know whether vaccine certificates are acceptable for travel. Which vaccines are [deemed] acceptable is another area of discussion. We are awaiting official statements on the matter. We have utilised the lockdown period to finish writing The End and begin pre-production,” says Malhotra.
The creator-producer is determined not to let the roadblocks hamper his grand vision for the Amazon Prime Video series. “We have to keep two variables in mind — Akshay’s dates, and the status of international travel.”
With Chhori and portions of Ram Setu being shot amid the pandemic, he maintains that filming on home turf is no cakewalk either. “In trying to mitigate Covid risk, we have created safety protocols that sometimes come in the way of shoots. For instance, everyone on set wears a face shield. But on ground, it becomes challenging for the DoP [director of photography] to check if the framing is on point [due to the additional filter],” he notes.
For now, Malhotra can take heart in the love pouring in for Vidya Balan’s Sherni. The movie not only highlighted the man-animal conflict, but also offered a sharp commentary on patriarchy. “Conservation is not just the [responsibility] of those in authority; that’s the message Amit [Masurkar, director] and Aastha [Tiku, co-writer] have beautifully conveyed. The Forest Department let us engage with forest officers, guards and trackers.”
Tiger 3 set in Goregaon unused for over the past 45 days; dismantled

With no clarity on resumption of shoots, makers of Salman-starrer Tiger 3 dismantle Goregaon set that stood unused over the past 45 days
Mohar Basu (MID-DAY; June 3, 2021)
It hasn’t been an easy ride for Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif-starrer Tiger 3 thus far. After the actioner — mounted on a grand scale by producer Aditya Chopra — rolled in March, the shoot was disrupted a month later when the leading lady tested Coronavirus positive. The second setback came soon after as the Maharashtra government imposed a junta curfew in mid-April. At the time, director Maneesh Sharma was filming crucial portions at the SRPF Ground in Goregaon where an elaborate set of a Dubai market had been erected. Now, one-and-a-half months into the shoot suspension, Chopra has apparently ordered the dismantling of the set.
It is heard that the producer-director duo were considering taking the course of action right after Cyclone Tauktae left the set-up partially damaged. Their resolve was further strengthened when the state government extended the lockdown earlier this week.
A source reveals, “There is no clarity on when shoots will resume. Even if the government green-lights them by mid-June, the studio is being cautious about the way forward. Considering Tiger 3 has a massive crew of about 300 people, Aditya wants the team to be vaccinated before they report to work. Maintaining the outdoor structure was turning out to be an expensive affair. They realised it will be easier on the pocket to erect a set whenever they are ready to resume work.”
In the third instalment that sees Emraan Hashmi join the cast, Khan’s undercover agent Avinash Singh Rathore will travel to Europe as part of his next mission. The source adds, “With Europe reopening its borders to fully vaccinated travellers, Aditya and Maneesh are studying the countries that can be part of Tiger’s journey. They will zero in on the locations post August.”
On the first day of resumption of Liger's shoot, I wanted the shoot to go on-Vijay Deverakonda

Raring to burst on Bollywood scene, Arjun Reddy star Vijay Deverakonda shares his joy on resuming filming of Liger after a 10-month break
Uma Ramasubramanian (MID-DAY; March 9, 2021)
Vijay Deverakonda enjoys the rare privilege of having a wide fan base in Mumbai even before he has made his Bollywood debut. The South star has been working on Liger, the multilingual that marks his foray into Hindi cinema. While the Coronavirus pandemic had put the brakes on the shoot of the Karan Johar and Puri Jagannadh production last March, the team resumed work in Mumbai last month with renewed zeal.
“Before the pandemic, I was working such long hours that I used to look forward to pack-up so that I could go home and sleep. But [when we resumed work], I only wanted to be on set. On the first day [of resumption], I wanted the shoot to go on. We filmed some portions in Mumbai, followed by a song in Goa,” says Deverakonda, who is currently on a short break as the production team is erecting a set at Film City in Goregaon for the next schedule. The actor, an ambassador for Breezer Vivid Shuffle, adds, “We will also have a schedule abroad. The location is uncertain yet; we were considering Europe initially, but now Abu Dhabi is an option.”
The Jagannadh-directed venture, also starring Ananya Panday, sees the Arjun Reddy star as a boxer. Tell Deverakonda it’s impressive that he has maintained the ripped physique throughout the lockdown, and he quips that it has less to do with discipline and more with the prevailing uncertainty. “I worked out every single day through the lockdown. Initially, we felt the [stay-at-home] period will end in three months; then we assumed it would be six months. So, the uncertainty helped in [being shoot-ready]. Had I known the lockdown would last for a year, I would have stopped working out,” he laughs.
With the Bollywood debut vehicle comes the responsibility of brushing up on his Hindi. The actor is unfazed about the task at hand. “I did a film in Tamil [NOTA] despite not knowing the language. I have grown up in Hyderabad where everyone speaks [a smattering] of Hindi, so mouthing Hindi dialogues wasn’t too hard. My character offers me the chance to play around with the language.”
My character in Four More Shots Please 3 will stand up for herself now-Kirti Kulhari

Ready to shoot Four More Shots Please 3 this week, Kirti Kulhari on the evolution of four protagonists
Uma Ramasubramanian (MID-DAY; March 8, 2021)
The recently released The Girl On The Train is but a blip for Kirti Kulhari, who has been on a hot streak since last year with Four More Shots Please 2 and Criminal Justice: Behind Closed Doors. The Ribhu Dasgupta-directed thriller, which sees the actor as a cop investigating a murder case, received a mixed response. “When you walk into a remake, you know what you’re getting into. So, the comparison [with the original book and the Hollywood thriller] was the least of our concerns. I haven’t read the reviews, but my family enjoyed the film. I moved on from the film a year ago because I was doing a lot of other projects,” begins Kulhari.
For now, the actor has her blinders on, ready to focus on the third season of Four More Shots Please. The International Emmy-nominated series is among the many projects that have been delayed due to the pandemic. “I will join the team on March 12. We will shoot in Mumbai and Ludhiana, following which we will hopefully fly to Europe for a schedule. I will wrap up the show by June-end,” says Kulhari, who has already planned a much-needed vacation right after the stint.
The Amazon Prime Video series, also starring Sayani Gupta, Maanvi Gagroo and Bani J, traces the lives and loves of four women who stand by each other through thick and thin. In the upcoming edition, she promises that her lawyer character Anjana will have a dramatic arc. “My character will stand up for herself in a way that she hasn’t before. That is not to say that she won’t make mistakes, but she will learn from them. We’ll show growth in terms of all the characters. People often think that this series is all about fun, but the truth is that the characters are complex.”

After eight-month delay due to pandemic, Kirti Kulhari reveals Four More Shots 3 to roll in city
Uma Ramasubramanian (MID-DAY; December 19, 2020)
It has been a long wait for Kirti Kulhari, who was eager to join Maanvi Gagroo, Sayani Gupta and Bani J for the third season of Four More Shots Please. The Tannishtha Chatterjee-helmed edition was to go on floors in April, before the pandemic threw a wrench in their plans. Now, Kulhari reveals that the Amazon Prime Video offering is set to roll in the new year.
"We have been trying to shoot since September. Understandably, people want to be careful on the sets, so there were many guidelines [laid down] by Amazon. Now, we'll begin shooting in January. The dates have yet to be locked," says the actor, who plays a lawyer in the series that revolves around the lives and loves of the four women protagonists.
Though a chunk of the season is set in Europe, they will begin work on home turf first. "The first schedule will be in Mumbai. We will conduct the Europe stint once [the situation has improved] around the world."

With a chunk of Four More Shots Please 3 set in Europe, director Tannishtha Chatterjee says team to wait out Coronavirus pandemic to shoot in the continent
Uma Ramasubramanian (MID-DAY; June 2, 2020)
While the entertainment industry gears up to resume shoots in Maharashtra following the state government's greenlight, international shoots remain a distant dream. However, that has hardly deterred actor-director Tannishtha Chatterjee who has envisioned the third season of Four More Shots Please! in Europe.Stating that the script was developed well before the pandemic hit the world, she says, "We had planned to shoot a chunk of Four More Shots Please in Europe, particularly Italy. As of now, we are sticking [to the destinations] and not changing the script. We will see how it plays out in the next few months. Some people say the pandemic will abate, others say there will be a second wave. How do you plan in such uncertainty? If we need to change things drastically, we will do it."
The second season of the Kirti Kulhari, Sayani Gupta, Maanvi Gagroo and Bani J-fronted series received praise and criticism in equal measure. As Chatterjee takes the directorial baton, she claims backlash comes with the territory. "There is constant judgment when it comes to such shows. There will be a conservative backlash, and I am ready for it."
Coronavirus outbreak: Overseas may open up before India

The lockdown across the world has put a stop to film business but there are early signs that cinemas may start opening up in Europe and North America around July. The lockdown is being eased in some countries of Europe though cinemas will be probably be among the last on the list on a staggered approach.
The big multiplex chains across Europe and North America will be putting up plans in opening cinemas with social distancing rules in places which will mean proposing that there will be an empty seat or even two per person in the cinema. This could work as Europe and North America run on 20-30% weekend occupancy and 10-15% weekday occupancy and that is on a good weekend with good releases. So even 2 empty seats per person will not make much of a difference and studios may be prepared to release films in such a scenario. The bigger issue will be whether the public prepared to come out as social distancing rules in place means the Coronavirus is still a threat.
In India, these plans could also be put forward by the multiplex chains but its unlikely a studio with a big film will release in this scenario as in India, the first weekend occupancy can go upto 60-70% on a big film. And then there will be well situated cinemas in all the major cities which hit 90-100% occupancy. If a theatre is only allowed 50% occupancy, then there will be a hit in business over the first weekend for a big cast film that has worked. No maker/studio of a big film can afford to take any hit in business over the first weekend as that is so hard to recover even if the film has worked. Its like a potential 100 crore weekend becoming 60-70 crore and that may be hard to swallow.
That is not to say the social distancing rules which will be used to open up cinemas in foreign markets can't be used in India. If Europe and North America manage to open up this way in July then India could attempt to follow but as mentioned it will tough or near impossible to get the good content to screens in India.
After Rajasthan, Karan Johar off to Europe on a recce for Takht

The filmmaker and his team will head to Italy and France among other places, on January 18, for recce of his next directorial, a period saga set in the Mughal era
Himesh Mankad (MUMBAI MIRROR; January 7, 2020)
Mirror had previously reported (August 8) that Karan Johar’s much-awaited period-saga, Takht, will go on the floors in March. At the time, the filmmaker was giving finishing touches to the script. Now, we have learnt that the script is locked and KJo is currently on a recce in Jaisalmer. As per plan, the film will go on the floors in March.
According to a source close to the development, the director and his production team have made several visits to the shooting spots in the past. “Karan, along with cinematographer Mitesh Mirchandani, National Award-winning art-director Sabu Cyril and his assistant directors will be in the desert city for the next five days to extensively analyse the locations and plan the cinematography and set designs,” revealed the source.
After Jaisalmer, KJo and his team will fly to several European locations, including Italy and France, on January 18 for another round of recce. “He’d always planned to spend January on the final round of recce and will be exploring locations similar to the landscape of Rajasthan in countries across Europe. Massive sets will be erected everywhere—from Jaisalmer to Europe—for which a mammoth budget has been earmarked,” the source added. As of now, the action scenes as well as the costumes have been locked for the film, which will also have battle sequences.
KJo has earlier described his upcoming directorial as the “epic battle for the majestic Mughal throne”. It’s a tale of two warring brothers, based on the fight for the throne between Shah Jahan’s two sons, Aurangzeb and Dara Shukoh (played by Ranveer Singh and Vicky Kaushal). The film also features Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Janhvi Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar in pivotal roles, with Anil Kapoor as the Mughal patriarch, Shah Jahan. “There will be some workshops in February with the entire cast to get a sense of their characters before moving on to the epic battle,” the source signed off.
The film will be shot in a start to finish schedule and is targeting a 2021 release.

Makers of Prabhas-starrer Saaho rope in 5 action directors to avoid repetition

Chaya Unnikrishnan (DNA; August 18, 2019)
Every action entertainer is looking to up the level of stunts in the film, to make it look visually spectacular. The latest is that the makers of Saaho, which is an action-thriller, roped in five stunt designers for the high-octane sequences involving Prabhas, who returns to the screen two years after Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.
A source close to the makers says, “We had internally discussed and decided to have multiple stunt directors for different sequences in the film to avoid repetition and have a completely different experience in each of the scenes. There is a chase sequence, hand-to-hand combat, an indoor fight, and a full-blown war kind of encounter. Each one of them has been separately choreographed by world-renowned action directors who have worked on Hollywood movies.”
There is Kenny Bates, who has worked on films such as Die Hard and Transformers, Peng Zhang is known for movies like Rush Hour, Bob Brown who has choreographed stunts for Se7en, Iron Man and xXx: Return of Xander Cage among others, Indian action director Dhilip Subbarayan and Stunt Silva, who have been associated with South cinema.
A source further reveals, “Kenny choreographed the Rs 70-crore chase sequence in Abu Dhabi and the core of climax, which is an important part of the film. The makers had especially briefed Peng for a larger-than-life introductory action scene of Prabhas and the fight sequence in the climax of the film alongside the gunfight in Europe. Bob has helped direct a huge gun battle based in the continent, too, while Dhilip has helmed the intriguing castle fight there wherein the locker falls down. Stunt Silva is responsible for the Mumbai traffic scuffle and the Europe resort encounter while Ram Laxman has directed the Lal Bungalow confrontation scene.”
The source adds that the expensive Abu Dhabi hunt sequence has turned out so well that Kenny has requested for its showreel to include in his portfolio as he believes this is one of his career’s best works.

Natasha Coutinho (MUMBAI MIRROR; May 30, 2019)
Hina Khan who was at the Cannes Film Festival to promote her film Lines, has an extended European schedule for her next, Wish List. It pairs her with UK-based actor Jitendra Rai and is directed by Rahat Kazmi.
According to a source close to the development, this film is about a couple who learns that one of them has an incurable disease and very little time to live. So, they decide to go on a trip together and enjoy life to the fullest. “Hina’s role is very different from Lines in which she played a simple girl from Kashmir,” informs the source.
The actress confirmed the news saying she began shooting for it the day she left the French Riviera. “It’s a touching film with a strong message, being shot in some of the most beautiful locations in Europe. As someone who loves to travel, it’s a treat as I’m getting to explore the best of Europe,” she exults.
Speaking about her character, Hina reveals that the girl is like her in many ways. “She’s a workaholic who cheers everyone around her with her positivity. The film deals with regular issues and choices but in inspirational ways and offering a new perspective,” she signs off.
Prabhas, Shraddha Kapoor and Neil Nitin Mukesh shoot for high-octane action sequences for Saaho

Avinash Lohana (MUMBAI MIRROR; April 29, 2019)
After shoots in Hyderabad, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Romania, Prabhas-Shraddha Kapoor’s action-thriller Saaho, with Neil Nitin Mukesh as the antagonist, arrived in Mumbai around two weeks ago. According to a source in the know, some lavishly-mounted action sequences on cars, trucks, bikes and even helicopters, including a chase sequence with the trio at Ballard Pier have been canned.“Mumbai was recreated at a Hyderabad studio where the interior portions were picturised earlier. But for the exterior shots, they had to fly down to the Maximum City which forms an important part of the narrative. After that, the team will move to Mathura where the film is based and will chronicle Iulia’s connection with Lord Krishna. The team plans to wrap up in one schedule.”
Soni confirmed the news, saying, “I am producing the film with my production partners. Now, the project has nothing to do with Studio Five Elements (Prernaa’s production house) or Prernaa. The rights are with me and everything is going as planned. Europe will be a small schedule, a major portion will be shot in Mathura. We will be revealing Iulia’s new look soon.” As Mirror had earlier reported, Iulia plays a Krishna bhakt in the film.

Yes, you read it right. The Bollywood singer-composer, who crooned the melodious Nazm Nazm from Bareilly Ki Barfi married Shimla girl Deepika Sood in September, after a four-year courtship.
Arko, who is also known for the hit track, Tere Bin Yaara from Rustom, exchanged vows with Deepika, a yoga and naturopathy professional, at a five-star hotel in Kolkata on September 22 in the presence of both their families. “I would say, this is a love-come-arranged marriage. We were friends for four years. Then we took permission from our families and only after that did we get married,” he said, adding that they had spent their honeymoon in Europe.
Refusing to reveal anything about how he met Deepika, Arko said only their relatives and close friends were invited to the wedding because he didn’t want to make his personal life an open book. “That’s also the reason I’m talking about my marriage after a month,” he added.
Besides his rather successful inning in Bollywood, Arko also collaborated with American composer Brandon Friesen last year for two English club songs. The tracks had made it to the Billboard Dance 50 chart. This year, the duo are collaborating on two more lyrical songs.
