Drishyam 2 collects 215.87 cr in 32 days

DRISHYAM 2 remained steady on its fifth Monday showing a better trend than the previous weeks with a very limited fall on Monday as it collected 75 lakhs nett which is just 15% down from Friday. This takes the film to 216 crore nett till date.
The fifth week business of the film is looking at business of 7.50 crore nett which is a very good number for week five especially because of the competition and a 60% drop is a solid result. There will be further competition this week with CIRKUS but that can be somewhat compensated with holiday period. So the film can add 4-5 crore nett post week five which will see the film close to the 225 crore nett mark.
The collections are almost 90 crore nett in Mumbai circuit while Delhi/UP is close to 40 crore nett.

DRISHYAM 2 did excellent business in its fifth weekend collecting around 5 crore nett despite the competition from AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER which has taken the film to 215 crore nett. The drop is only 60% from last weekend which is again fantastic considering the competition.
DRISHYAM 2 continues to record extraordinary collections in many areas with places like Maharashtra Gujarat and CP, CI seeing collections in week five which are better than the likes of DANGAL and KABIR SINGH. The film is now certain to cross 90 crore nett in Mumbai which means higher numbers than BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN, KABIR SINGH and SULTAN in this circuit.
The film will face further competition this week with CIRKUS and it is the release of AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER and CIRKUS which will keep its lifetime numbers behind BRAHMASTRA (Hindi). But this film has broken the myths that box office is now about mass and event films only and the story based films without commercial elements can still do the numbers though they have must the ability to reach the audience outside the metros.

DRISHYAM 2 continued to collect well despite the release of AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER as another 85 lakh nett came on its fifth Friday. The collections of the film came down around 40% from Thursday which could have been more considering the release of an event film.
This takes the film over the 210 crore nett mark and its looking like a lifetime number in the vicinity of 220 crore nett. The last couple of weeks has seen the film double up on Saturday and it could be the same again or even more this Saturday as the collections are at lower levels.
The film has also become the third Ajay Devgn film after GOLMAAL AGAIN and TANHAJI: THE UNSUNG WARRIOR to cross the 300 crore mark worldwide. The film has around 307 crore worldwide and will chase down the 311 crore of GOLMAAL AGAIN within the next 3-4 days. TANHAJI: THE UNSUNG WARRIOR at 358 crore is out of reach though in overseas, DRISHYAM 2 is far better than that film.
