There’s no dieting during Ganesh Chaturthi. We relish the modaks-Shreyas Talpade

Renuka Vyavahare (BOMBAY TIMES; September 7, 2024)

Shreyas and wife Deepti Talpade took us back in time as they dressed in their traditional finery to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi. Deepti, in a gorgeous Paithani nauvari (nine yards) sari and nath (nose ring), and Shreyas, dressed in an ivory kurta, dhoti and uparna, looked picture perfect as they welcomed Lord Ganesha. The couple spoke at length about their faith in him in an exclusive conversation with Bombay Times and photo shoot at the South of Vindhyas, The Orchid Hotel, Mumbai.

‘During this festival, I ensure I keep work aside, no matter what’
Born and raised in Mumbai, the couple looks forward to celebrating the festival each year.

Shreyas explains, “We have grown up in an environment and culture where every year we celebrate this festival with great vigour. Dancing on the streets to bring home Bappa and eating vada pav that’s distributed during the procession, it’s all so special. I have Ganpati in my house for one-and-a-half days since 2007, when we bought our first house. For these two days, I ensure I keep work aside, no matter what. These two days are full of pure devotion, worship and spending time with family and Bappa.”

Deepti laughs and adds, “And it’s a lot of work for me. I make ukadiche modaks and Shreyas loves eating them.”

‘There’s no dieting during these days’
Shreyas says, “Ukadiche modak are integral to Ganpati celebration. It’s not that you can’t eat it otherwise, but it tastes different when you eat it during Ganpati. There’s no dieting during these days. We relish the modaks and other sweets.”

‘Our daughter sings the aarti and knows it by heart’
The couple’s love for the festival has been passed on to their six-year-old daughter, Aadya. “She has been excited since June to welcome Ganesha. She sings the aarti and knows it by heart. She loves having people over. The visarjan (immersion) part of the festival is something that she is yet to understand and embrace. We all get emotional during that time, but she wonders why we are letting the idol leave our home,” says Deepti.

The couple concluded, Lokmanya Tilak initiated Ganeshotsav to unite people and that’s what it does irrespective of language or religion. “It’s funny when people say they have kept a Ganpati in the house for 3 days or 2.5 days for the first time. It’s usually 1.5,5,7 or 11 days. They don’t know that but the gesture counts. May be they don’t have that information but their willingness to celebrate and worship God is what matters. It brings happiness into their lives. Ganpati bappa Morya!”

God gave me the best gift ever, the gift of life, not once but twice-Shreyas Talpade

SHREYAS TALPADE:
I AM HAPPY FOR THE
BONUS TIME I’VE GOT

Learning to be happy again after a life-altering experience, the actor poses exclusively for HT City on International Day of Happiness today
Rishabh Suri (HINDUSTAN TIMES; March 20, 2024)

After a lengthy shoot for his new film Welcome To The Jungle, Shreyas Talpade unwinds in his vanity van while eating his home-cooked lunch before we can begin our special shoot for International Day of Happiness. The actor is back at work after a long break as he suffered a near-fatal heart attack in December 2023. Over the years, he has made people smile by playing comic roles in projects like the Golmaal franchise, Apna Sapna Money Money (2006), Housefull 2 (2012) and more. After going through a life-changing ordeal, he’s now learning to be happy again.

The 48-year-old explains, “Earlier, my definition of happiness was a smile on my face, but now, it’s more to do with how content I am. You could be in different places around the world, and you won’t be happy. But at times, you are sitting in the comfort of your home and are happy. After what I’ve gone through, I’m grateful for whatever is offered to me.”

Shreyas believes he is living on “bonus time”. “Every single moment I am on Earth, is a bonus for me. I better be happy about it. What should I ask God for? He gave me the best gift ever — the gift of life, not once but twice. First, when my mum picked me up in her arms and second, when my wife (Deepti Talpade, actor) rushed to save me,” says the actor adding, “I wasn’t aware of what was happening. She was living it.”

Returning to set was a joyful moment for him as everyone was “happy to see” him. “People are talked about and get more love after they are gone. I’m fortunate to experience this when sI am alive,” he ends.

Akshay Kumar ‘kept calling’ Shreyas Talpade's wife to check on his health

Akshay ‘kept calling’ Shreyas’ wife to check on his health
HINDUSTAN TIMES (February 14, 2024)

Actor Akshay Kumar, 56, proved that he was a true friend when actor Shreyas Talpade, 48, suffered a heart attack in December 2023. He was the first one to visit him in the hospital and kept checking in with Shreyas’ wife, actor Deepti Talpade. Sharing how concerned the OMG 2 (2023) actor was for Shreyas’ well-being, his wife had high praise for Akshay.

“When the news broke [about the heart attack], Shreyas’ director Ahmed Khan (who is helming Welcome To The Jungle) and his wife came to the hospital at 11 pm at night. They were with me [the entire time]. Akshay Kumar kept calling me and asked, ‘Deepti should we shift him? You tell, we will shift him to a different hospital.’ He again called me in the morning and said, ‘Let me please see him for two minutes. I just want to see him.’ I said, ‘You can come whenever you want.’ Hindi and Marathi film industry was there that day for us,” she told ABP’s Majha Katta in an interview. The actors have worked together in Joker and Housefull 2 (both 2012).

We had earlier reported that Shreyas had been shooting for a new film, when he reached home, he began to feel uneasy in his chest, and collapsed. His wife was with him and rushed him to a hospital in Mumbai.

Clinically, I was dead. It’s my second chance at life-Shreyas Talpade

Clinically, I was dead. It’s my second chance at life: Shreyas

Actor-director Shreyas Talpade speaks for the first time as he recovers from a cardiac arrest he suffered mid-December
Renuka Vyavahare (HINDUSTAN TIMES; January 3, 2024)

After being rushed to Andheri’s Bellevue hospital, where he was treated for a lethal cardiac arrest on December 14, Shreyas Talpade is now at home, resting and recuperating. He admits his revival was nothing short of a miracle. The 48-year-old actor is grateful to God, his doctors, well-wishers and most importantly his wife Deepti, who showed immense presence of mind and took timely measures to snatch her husband from the jaws of death. The ordeal, however, was more than a wake-up call for the actor. It was a terrible reminder of how we often take our life and time for granted with minimal attention to preventive care. Excerpts…

‘I’VE HAD A FAMILY HISTORY OF HEART AILMENTS’
For the past two and a half years I have been working nonstop and travelling extensively for my films, Pushpa (lends his voice for the main character in Hindi) or shows. However, for the last few months, I was feeling extremely fatigued. It was slightly unusual but since I was working nonstop, I thought I was just a little exhausted which is normal. I loved what I was doing so I kept going. Of course, I got myself checked. I got an ECG, 2D Echo, sonography and blood tests done. My cholesterol was high, and I was taking medication for that. I’ve had a family history of heart ailments, which is why I was taking precautions.

‘I HAD NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS KIND OF FATIGUE’
Elaborating on what happened on the day of his acute cardiac arrest, the Housefull 2 actor shares, “We were shooting in Mumbai at the SRPF grounds close to Jogeshwari for Ahmed Khan’s Welcome To The Jungle. We were doing army training sequences like swinging on a rope, falling into the water and everything was going smoothly.”

Shreyas adds, “Suddenly, after the last shot, I felt breathless, and my left hand started paining. I could barely walk to my vanity van and change my clothes. I thought it was a muscle pull since we were shooting action sequences. You don’t think of the worst-case scenario, right? I had never experienced this kind of fatigue.”

He shares, “As soon as I got into the car, I felt I should head straight to the hospital, but thought I should go home first. My wife, Deepti, saw me in that state and within 10 minutes, we were on our way to the hospital. We were almost there and could see the hospital gate, but the entry was barricaded, and we had to take a U-turn. The very next moment my face went numb, and I passed out. That was a cardiac arrest. My heart had stopped beating for those few minutes. Deepti couldn’t get out of the car from her side of the door as we were stuck in traffic, so she climbed over me and got to the other side to call for help. A few people came to our rescue and rushed me inside. The doctors did CPR, electrical shock, that’s how they revived me.”

‘NOW I AM TAKING ONE DAY AT A TIME’
The actor, whose two main arteries were blocked (one 100% and the other 99), has had a stent placed through angioplasty. He says, “Once I regained my senses, the doctors told me that I smiled at them and conveyed sorry to my wife for putting her through this ordeal. I was kept under observation for five days. Now, I am taking one day at a time and resting it out. The doctors said post six weeks I can get back to work. My producers told me to take it easy, too. I just want to relax now, be with family for now, spend time with my daughter, watch some films and read books. When something like this happens, your family suffers the most. I can now imagine what Mr Bachchan and his family may have gone through when he suffered a near-fatal injury on the sets of Coolie (1982).

JAAN HAI TOH JAHAAN HAI
"I was never hospitalized before in my life, not even for a fracture so I didn’t see this coming. Don’t take your health for granted. Times are so uncertain that you must give extreme importance to your health. If that falls apart, nothing else matters. Jaan hai toh Jahaan hai. An experience like this changes your perspective towards life. I started doing theatre at 16, became a professional actor at 20. For the past 28 years, I have just been focusing on my career. We take our families for granted. We think we have time. As a nation we are not high on preventive care. I have seen my parents and their generation ignoring their health, too. We work hard for our survival but is it worth it? If you are not alive what’s the point of it anyway?"

‘DON’T OVERLOOK THE WARNING SIGNS YOUR BODY GIVES YOU’
"I want to tell this to everyone. Somewhere, our body always gives us these signals, please listen to them. Do not ignore them. Communicate with your doctor better. Some people often skip doctor visits thinking, ‘Yeh koi test karne bolenge’. But you never know how helpful those tests could be. While there has been no evidence per se, I’ve heard post covid, many cases involving healthy young people have encountered heart issues. I was down with covid in 2020. Just get yourself checked, why waste time? I don’t smoke at all, drink scarcely once a month perhaps, follow healthy diet and exercise but don’t let this overlook the warning signs that your body gives you."

‘IT WAS A MASSIVE CARDIAC ARREST’
Having survived this near-death experience, Shreyas feels immense gratitude for having got a second chance at life. “Clinically, I was dead. It was a massive cardiac arrest. A wake-up call would be an understatement. This is my second chance at life! I cannot tell you how thankful I am to everyone who played a role in saving my life. And, of course, my superwoman wife, who did everything she could in her capacity to save me. She is the reason we are talking today. It was overwhelming to receive this sort of love and care. These people gave me a second life and it’s a debt I can never repay, Ahmed Khan and his wife, Akki bhai, my friends and family have been visiting me at home," he tells us.

They didn’t know who they were helping, yet they came running, says Shreyas Talpade's wife Deepti

My life, Shreyas, is back home safe and sound: Deepti Talpade

BOMBAY TIMES (December 22, 2023)

Shreyas Talpade has been discharged from the hospital after suffering a heart attack on December 14. On Wednesday, the actor’s wife Deepti Talpade took to Instagram to share an update. Sharing several pictures of the couple, she wrote, “My life, Shreyas, is back home... safe and sound. I would argue with Shreyas saying I don’t know where to put my faith in. Today I know the answer to my question, God Almighty. He was with me that evening when this drastic event happened in our lives. I don’t think I’ll ever question his existence henceforth.”

She added, “I wish to take a moment and thank the good Samaritans of our city. That evening I called for help, sought a hand and I got 10 of them. While Shreyas laid inside the car, they didn’t know who they were helping... yet they came running. To all those people, you were God incarnate that evening for us. Thank you. I hope my message reaches you. Please know that I shall be eternally grateful to you from the core of my being. That’s the spirit of this great city Mumbai. That’s what makes Mumbai. We were not left to fend for ourselves. We were taken care of.”

Some of whom left everything they were doing and were there standing with me. It’s because of you all, I wasn’t alone. I had shoulders to lean on and immense support to stay strong.”

She also thanked fans of Shreyas and wrote, “I thank all the fans... so many people who prayed with me for Shreyas’s safety and good health (sic).”

RIP Girish Karnad: Shreyas Talpade and Ali Abbas Zafar pay tribute to the playwright

I can’t forget his ever-smiling face: Shreyas Talpade
DNA (June 11, 2019)

(19 May 1938 – 10 June 2019)

Noted playwright and film as well as theatre personality Girish Karnad breathed his last on Monday morning. To grieve his loss, Karnataka has declared a three-day mourning while yesterday was announced as a holiday for schools, colleges and government offices. The Jnanpith Award winner, who was 81, was a popular face on television and in cinema. The Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan recipient was known as one of the doyens of modern Indian theatre as he had penned powerful productions in Kannada including Yayati, Tughlaq, Hayavadana and Taledanda, which were a strong comment on the socio-political scenario. Some of his works have been translated into several languages and have been helmed by stalwarts such as Alyque Padamsee, Ebrahim Alkazi and Satyadev Dubey, to name a few.

The versatile artiste also had an impressive body of work both in South as well as Hindi cinema. Having made his acting debut with the Kannada film Samskara in 1970, he went on act in movies such as Nishaant (1975), Manthan (1976) and Swami (1977). After foraying into direction with the Kannada film Vamsha Vriksha in 1971 (for which he even won the National Award), he helmed other movies including Rekha and Shashi Kapoor-starrer Utsav (1984).

The versatile artiste was also a prominent face on Indian television as he was seen in Malgudi Days (1987) and Indradhanush (1989). He had a long association with filmmaker Nagesh Kukunoor as he acted in several of movies such as Iqbal (2005), Dor (2006), 8 x 10 Tasveer (2009) and Aashayein (2010). Having acted in Salman Khan-starrer Ek Tha Tiger (2012), he was last seen on the big screen in the espionage thriller’s 2017 sequel Tiger Zinda Hai.

The multiple award-winner served as director of the Film and Television Institute of India or FTII from 1974 to 1975, chairman of the Sangeet Natak Akademi from 1988 to 1993, and director of the Nehru Centre in London from 2000 to 2003. The political activist was known for his strong views and believed in freedom of expression.

I can’t forget his ever-smiling face: Shreyas Talpade
The news of his death was extremely shocking. When my wife (Deepti) informed me, I couldn’t believe it. It was a huge honour for me to work with Girish sir in my first Hindi film, Iqbal. I was nervous about sharing screen space with stalwarts like him and Naseeruddin Shah. Also, it was produced by Subhash Ghai so, overall, I was feeling overwhelmed. Had it not been for Girish ji — the way he hugged me and made me comfortable on the set on the first day... He was the most loving, caring and supportive co-actor. I cannot forget his ever-smiling face. I will miss him.

I wasn’t in touch with him that much, but every time we met at events or film festivals, he would give me a warm hug. He was fond of my wife and me, and would always greet us with a smile.

Girish sir was full of knowledge not just about films and plays, but also politics and various cuisines. He was fond of good food and would relish it. I remember during the shoot of Iqbal, Dor in Rajasthan and even Aashayein, in which I had just one song, which was shot in Pondicherry, we would enjoy dinner together. He would share so many stories and anecdotes. I only have fond memories of him.

- As told to Chaya Unnikrishnan

My relationship with Girish sir was like professor and student: Ali Abbas Zafar
For me, it was a great experience to work with a man like Girish sir. Not only as an actor, but he was also such a gentleman and a knowledgeable soul. It’s not only the film fraternity that will miss him, but the entire nation. He was a writer, a theatre actor, he used to write and direct plays and films. The kind of talent that he possessed was phenomenal. He was a great human being and a great person to have conversation with. While working with him in Tiger Zinda Hai, I had a fabulous time. He was one of those people who could nicely and easily tell you what they think is right or wrong. He was very articulate. My relationship with him was like a professor and student. I am deeply saddened by his demise.

Nagesh Kukunoor reprimanded me for wanting to party till I revealed that I was getting married-Shreyas Talpade

Shreyas and Naseeruddin Shah in a still from Iqbal

Shreyas and Naseeruddin Shah in a still from Iqbal

Roshmila Bhattacharya (MUMBAI MIRROR; August 23, 2018)

Shreyas Talpade went to audition for Iqbal believing that he was in the running for a bit part. So, he was surprised when the assistant, while congratulating the actor for bagging it, asked if he could keep two months free for the film. On asking why they needed him for so long, he learnt that he would be playing the titular role in Subhash Ghai’s 2005 coming-of-age sports drama that revolves around a deaf-mute boy who dreams of playing cricket for India.

“I discovered later that they had shortlisted me and another actor and decided to take a vote. When both of us got equal votes from the team, Nagesh (Kukunoor, the film’s writer-director) cast his in my favour,” reminisces the actor who was finalised on December 25 and had to begin training in Hyderabad in the next couple of days. “I asked if I could get December 31 off and Nagesh reprimanded me for wanting to party till I revealed that I was getting married that day. Instantly, he told me to cancel my plans, till his partner, Elahe Hiptoola, convinced him to let me tie the knot on the condition that I start the first day of the year with Iqbal. On January 1, I took the first flight out to Hyderabad, reached the office and was told by his manager to take my shoes off because Iqbal walks and runs barefoot. I didn’t wear them again till the day I returned home.”

His first day was so exhausting, more so since he’d just slept for an hour after returning home before leaving for the airport at 4 am, that Shreyas came back to the hotel burning with fever. His bride Deepti spent the night tending to him, worrying if he’d be fit for work the next day. He was.

The days began early, just after 4 am. By 5.30 am, he would be working out and practicing bowling, after which he would go to the tabelas to befriend buffaloes. “I’d take them for a walk, bathe and feed them, before bringing them back. This way I managed to pick out a pack that I felt would be my buddies in reel life. On the first day of the shoot, one of them stamped my foot hard,” Shreyas admits with a laugh, adding that after the tabela, there would be more cricket and reading sessions through the day. “Iqbal was a lot of learning and unlearning. It not only made me but also changed me as an actor.”

His most difficult shoot was a sunrise shot for which they reached the location by 4 am, and as they waited for the sun to go up, Nagesh made Shreyas run to the haystack many times. He had to clamber up, throw his arms out for the camera, the sun lighting his face. “I had run a few times when suddenly someone shouted that the sun had come out. Nagesh instructed me to run back, dash to the haystack and climb up. I did, only to slip, again and again, because the hay was wet from the dew. Each time, I had to go back and run the distance. By now, I was dead on my feet, but I knew that if Nagesh didn’t get his shot, we’d have to return and repeat the process. So, I gathered all my strength, and gritting my teeth, climbed up like a monkey and the exultation I was to feel was for real. That day, I learnt the meaning of the phrase, ‘go the extra mile’,” he smiles.

However, Shreyas’s biggest challenge was the last shot of the film which required him to come running, hit his bowling mark and jump in the air, the camera freezing on him mid-air. Through the shoot, he’d lived with the fear that he might injure himself and hold up the shoot, and was congratulating himself on having pulled it off, when, hurrying into the finale shot, he overshot his mark, took the leap and landed on his ankle. DoP Sudeep Chatterjee winced as he heard a sharp crack and saw Shreyas reach for his ankle, crying out in pain. “It wasn’t a fracture, but I twisted my ankle badly and could barely walk. But when Sudeep admitted to Nagesh that they couldn’t use that shot, with an ice pack and a pian relief spray, I pulled myself back on my feet and did the shot again, this time making sure I got it right, then, had to keep my ankle bandaged for weeks,” he says.

The film released on August 26, 2005, and in these 13 years, despite widely acclaimed performances in films like Welcome To Sajjanpur, Om Shanti Om and Housefull 2, Shreyas is still remembered as Iqbal who inspired many real-life success stories. “We have often spoken of a sequel but Nagesh believes for a story like this that one jump is enough. If Part 2 doesn’t work, it could dilute the magic. He could be right,” Shreyas signs off.

I’m really enjoying being a hands on father-Shreyas Talpade

Rachit Gupta (BOMBAY TIMES; July 11, 2018)

They say, parenthood is akin to seeing your heart beating outside your body for the rest of your life. Actor-producer-filmmaker Shreyas Talpade certainly subscribes to the thought. These days, he is relishing his new role as a doting dad to his two-month-old daughter, Aadya.

Shreyas and his wife Deepti welcomed their first child through surrogacy on May 4, this year. And ever since, the Talpade household has put cinema conversations on hold. Shreyas says, “Aadya had us wrapped around her little finger from the very beginning. She made us come back to India the very day we landed in Hong Kong. It was like her saying, ‘How could you go on a vacation without me? Come back!’ Deepti and I flew back in an instant.”

For now, Shreyas has decided to take each day as it comes. He says, “Deepti and I are both chilled out, we’re not worrying about every little thing.”

Shreyas says, “We also have two pets and the first thing we did was to make sure that they didn’t feel insecure with Aadya’s arrival. We want our daughter to treat Don and Knight like her elder brothers. Right now, we’re just enjoying every moment with her. Every day, we see a little change in her.”

Equal parenting has become the norm today, and the actor fully endorses it. “Gone are the days when only mothers used to tend to the children. In any situation, kids would always seek their mother. But I want my daughter to count on me, too. I want her to tell me everything — her fears, happiness and excitement. That won’t happen unless I am completely involved in her life,” he explains.

So, the actor has taken to changing nappies and getting the temperature right for the baby’s milk. He adds, “I am feeding her, I am cleaning the nappies, too. The only thing that I’m scared of is bathing her. I am enjoying all these new experiences. I’m really enjoying being a hands-on father.”

While he’s really kicked about fatherhood, Shreyas hasn’t forgotten that his career is going through a purple patch, too. His last release, Golmaal Again (2017), was a hit and he debuted as a director with Poster Boys (2017), which was a remake of his own Marathi production, Poshter Boyz (2014). And over the years, Shreyas has become a sought-after name in Marathi cinema, too. He says, “There’s new belief and passion, and a whole new spate of filmmakers who want to create exciting stuff. Marathi cinema has started competing with not just Bollywood, but Hollywood, too. We have Hollywood films earning Rs 100 crore, capturing a big part of the Indian market. If you have to compete with them, you have to make sure that your content is good enough.” About his upcoming Marathi projects, he says, “I will be shooting for that film in the US in August-September. We will also start work on the sequel to Poshter Boyz.”

Throughout his career, Shreyas has tried to balance films like Iqbal (2005) and Dor (2006) with commercial fare like Apna Sapna Money Money (2006), Om Shanti Om (2007) and the Golmaal series. He says, “When it comes to choosing films and roles, I just go with my instinct and pick up whatever I feel I’ll enjoy doing. I feel that it’s never really gone bad for my career.”

Looking back, Shreyas says that he feels fortunate to have made a career in the movies. “After I am gone, the only thing that will keep my memories alive is cinema. If you can manage to make a film that sparks off a trend or a cult following, you’ve achieved something. We all constantly try to make these moments with our films,” he notes.

Shreyas also feels that the only way to survive in showbiz is to work tirelessly. “In the long run, only the best survives. Lambi race ka ghoda banna bahut zaroori hota hai. Those who come to the film industry to earn a quick buck or become famous do their three-four films and disappear into oblivion. But if your intentions are honest and you have a penchant for trying out new things, the film industry gives you a chance to shine and make your mark. I had no connections, I came from nowhere. But the film industry embraced me and gave me a chance.”

Shreyas Talpade, wife Deepti welcome baby girl through surrogacy

Shreyas and Deepti Talpade welcomed daughter through surrogacy
Natasha Coutinho (MUMBAI MIRROR; May 8, 2018)

After 14 years of marriage, Shreyas and Deepti Talpade became the proud parents of a baby girl on Friday, May 4. The couple who opted for surrogacy to extend their family, were on a holiday in Hong Kong when their daughter arrived earlier than expected.

Shreyas informed Mirror that the date given to them was between May 10 and 12 so Deepti and he flew off to Hong Kong from where they were scheduled to go on a cruise. “On the way, we learnt that the surrogate mother had gone into labour prematurely so we changed our plans and headed back to India the same night,” the actor-filmmaker reminisces.

He adds that they were still in mid-air when their daughter entered the world and they received the good news the minute they landed and headed straight to the hospital from the airport. “Seems our little girl has a stubborn streak and didn’t want us to go to Hong Kong without her,” Shreyas laughs, admitting that she already has her parents wrapped around her little finger.

Prod him on what they have decided to call her and the doting daddy admits that though they have shortlisted a few names they have yet to zero in on one. “Friends have been confusing us with multiple suggestions,” he grumbles good-naturedly.

Speaking about why they chose surrogacy, Shreyas reveals guardedly that there were certain issues and it was their doctor who told them that this was the best option. “And it’s one of the best decisions of my life,” he beams.

Gushing over the newborn, he says they now have an angel to look after and while family and friends have been giving tons of advice, the doctor wants them to take each day at a time. “During Iqbal, I remember Nagesh (director Nagesh Kukunoor) telling me, ‘This is your first success so cherish every moment.’ That’s exactly what I’m doing with the baby, living every moment with her. All these years, I would ask myself if I’m ready for a child and end up feeling apprehensive and nervous. Now, I’m loving it!” Shreyas exults.

According to the new father, friends and family have been telling him that his baby’s forehead is just like his, while the lower half of her face resembles Deepti’s. “I think she looks more like Deepti with her round face but her features are changing every day,” he smiles.

He’s on a short break from work and daddy duty is top priority with everything else taking a backseat. “I was to start shooting from May 15 but luckily for me the shoot has been pushed to June so I’ve got a month to focus on my baby. I’ve always wanted a daughter so I could buy her dolls, teddy bears and plenty of pretty dresses. I’m already planning what I can buy her when I go shooting. My wife thinks I’m more stressed out than her, but I’m just happy and want to give our daughter the best,” he asserts.
