Diplo insisted on me being a part of the video, and I had to oblige-Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan’s collaboration with American DJ Diplo for the song, Phurrr, in Jab Harry Met Sejal has already made news. The actor recently shot a promotional video of the number with the Grammy winner, in the sunny vistas of Los Angeles. Talking about his shoot, Khan tells mid-day, “Diplo had a show in Miami, but he postponed it and flew down to LA instead.”
Khan further reveals that he was not supposed to be a part of the song originally. “I went on the set to meet him. But, he insisted on me being a part of the video, and I had to oblige. He showed me some swag moves, and I just copied him.”
The duo bonded over Indian culture. “Diplo has spent a lot of time in Kolkata, so he loves India and our culture. He was sweet enough to give me a jacket of his record label, Mad Decent.”
Diplo was accompanied by his kids, Lockett and Lazer Pentz, who are big fans of SRK. “I was surprised that his sons knew of me. Unfortunately, my kids couldn’t come because it was an early morning shoot,” he informs.

After R&B singer Akon
lent his voice for “Chammak Challo“ and “Criminal“ in Anubhav
Sinha's 2011 superhero film, Ra.One, featuring Shah Rukh Khan in the
lead, the 51-year-old actor has now collaborated with Grammy
winning American DJ and record producer Diplo. The American
rapper, singer and songwriter has composed a song, “Phurrr“ with Pritam
and Rocky Wellstack, for SRK's upcoming romantic film, Jab Harry Met
Sejal. The song sung by Mohit Chauhan and Tushar Joshi was filmed on
Anushka Sharma and him in Portugal.
“It has a fresh energy and we imagined that the song starts soon after
the Portugal football team won the UEFA Cup, an event we follow in the
story. So there are lots of people celebrating on the streets. Diplo is
known the
world over for his singles and albums and it's great to collaborate with
him,“ exulted director Imtiaz Ali.
King Khan also took to the social media to share a picture of Diplo and him in Los Angeles, tweeting, “Walked into the video @diplo is making for Phurrr! Got a starring role in it & his Decent jacket. Wes u r dope! Thx, (sic)“
Earlier, Mirror (February 20, 2016) had reported that when Diplo was in Mumbai for a performance, he had flown off to Goa before the gig, where Shah Rukh was shooting for Gauri Shinde's Dear Zindagi with Alia Bhatt. He had spent the day on the film's sets, curious about the Bollywood way of making movies and its song and dance format. SRK had taken him around for a spot of sightseeing and Diplo had taught the actor how to spin on a DJ console while relishing Indian curry, fish and rice.
