CHUP collected 9.75 crore nett in its first week and the film film managed to do higher than expectations over the first weekend due to the National Cinema Day but the collections fell on Monday. The plus is the weekend which will allow the film to cross 10 crore nett which would have been tough without the Rs. 75 offer.

The film is based on the film industry and about these critic types and what goes on but the audience does not really care for this and its an industry thing. So, a 10 crore nett plus number for this film is actually not a bad result in terms of business today.

DHOKHA ROUND D CORNER collected 2.75 crore nett in its first week but almost 40% of this 2.75 crore nett came on the first day due to the lower rates.

AVATAR was re released and did pretty well as it notched up around 6.50 crore nett in a week. This takes the total of the film to around 63.54 crore nett and there will be fireworks when AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER releases in December.

A Nepali film, PREM GEET 3, was also released and it was a total disaster as it was unable to collect even on cinema day.

CHUP saw a drop in collections on Monday as it grossed around 75 lakhs nett which makes it tough for the film to sustain against a big film like Vikram Vedha. The drop on Monday is not actually that much as fair value for the first day was under 1.50 crore nett going by Saturday collections. Hence, the fair value drop is 40-50%.

Still this trend is not good enough as the film had to get close to its Friday fair value of around 1.3-1.4 crore nett. The lower price ticket rates are unlikely to help here on the weekdays and it should finish with a 9.50 crore nett week one.

The collections of CHUP till date are as follows.
Friday - 2,85,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 2,00,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 2,15,00,000 apprx
Monday - 75,00,000
TOTAL - 7,75,00,000 apprx

DHOKHA ROUND D CORNER fell badly on Monday with just 15 lakhs nett and the first week will get to around 2.75 crore nett.

The collections of DHOKHA ROUND D CORNER are as follows.
Friday - 1,15,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 50,00,000 apprx

Monday - 15,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 2,45,00,000 apprx

The Nepali film PREM GEET 3 will gross around 50 lakhs nett in week one and there is a Nepali version running also which will add a little to the total.

CHUP has done reasonably well collecting around 7 crore nett over the weekend which is better than films like ANEK and HIT - THE FIRST CASE. CHUP got the benefit of cinema day but managed to hold up pretty well post that but the real test comes for the film on Monday.

There are lower ticket rates on the weekdays and that should benefit the film. However, the problem could be on Friday as VIKRAM VEDHA will release while BRAHMASTRA is going strong. So, the other releases may well feel the heat.

The first weekend collections for CHUP are as follows.
Friday - 2,85,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 2,00,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 2,15,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 7,00,00,000 apprx

DHOKHA ROUND D CORNER saw a decent first day but collections slipped thereafter.

There was also a Nepali film, PREM GEET 3, which was released this week with promotion and it even got a release in the national chains but there were no collections.

The collections of PREM GEET 3 are as follows.
Friday - 10,00,000 apprx

CHUP is doing reasonably decent business considering how these type of films of fared post the pandemic. The film collected around 1.85 crore nett on Saturday which is a 35% drop from Friday but it could have been a lot more and this 35% drop after cinema day is actually pretty healthy.

The film has collected around 4.75 crore nett in two days and although these collections are not much they are more than anyone would have expected from this film. Not many would have even pegged a 5 crore nett weekend for the film let alone being close to that over two days. The test for the film will be Monday.

The first two day collections for CHUP are as follows.
Friday - 2,85,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 1,85,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 4,70,00,000 apprx

DHOKHA ROUND D CORNER saw a fall in collections on the second day as it collected around 50 lakhs nett but day one collections were okay at over 1 crore nett.

The collections of DHOKHA ROUND D CORNER are as follows.
Friday - 1,15,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 1,65,00,000 apprx

There was also a Nepali film, PREM GEET 3, which was released this week with promotion and it even got a release in the national chains but there were no collections.

CHUP had a decent first day as it collected in the 2.75-3 crore nett range which may well have been its first weekend if it was not for cinema day. A film like this gets a huge boost with lower ticket rates as its difficult to get people out for this type of content without an incentive.

The film also got a good number of footfalls which can really help if word of mouth is good as word spreads faster when more people spread it. The problem is basically that its based on the industry and on reviewers. This all maybe good within the industry and media circles but majority of public does not care or is even interested in these industry going ons which are also actually irrelevant for the industry as well in the bigger picture.

It remains to be seen what happens post cinema day but it will not be easy as the film has a limited audience.

The Hollywood BLOCKBUSTER, AVATAR, saw a re release on cinema day and did very well as it collected 1.85 crore nett which takes its lifetime business to around 58.89 crore nett. The film could have a nice little run as it saw more tickets sold at cinemas with normal rates than the other new films.

DHOKHA ROUND D CORNER managed decent collections also with around 1.15 crore nett and like CHUP, this may well have been its weekend without cinema day but the issue remains where it goes now.

It was not all good news as a Nepali film PREM GEET 3 was also released and was actually promoted and had PR but this one failed to collect.
