Bellbottom collects 25.77 cr in 2 weeks; Chehre collects 2.80 cr in Week 1

BELLBOTTOM fell around 63% in week two which in normal circumstances would be a pretty decent hold but in a restricted market this drop is far worse than it actually looks. The film collected 7 crore nett in week two and took its overall total to 25.75 crore nett
The first weekend collection is not a problem; if you can hold even in this present market and that is where BELLBOTTOM failed. The main issue has been the dropping collections on the weekdays of week one. That is where films have to ne at Friday levels to survive until the market gets better.

CHEHRE was a poor fare. Obviously there are issues with the market but the collections of Chehre are more to do with the non interesting film rather than the market. The film collected 2.75 crore nett apprx in week one.

BELLBOTTOM had a low second weekend of 4.25 crore nett and Monday was helped by Janmashtami as it collected around 1 crore nett which was more than Friday. The drop is 65% from the first weekend and now the restrictions and occupancy rules are not a problem as there is plenty of spare capacity in those crucial evening shows but the audience is not coming. The main circuits for the film remain Gujarat and East Punjab and Delhi/UP though the latter is only having footfalls in Delhi NCR.
The problem is the trend for the film as in this scenario where collections are going to be lower due to non-functioning market in most circuits, you have to hold much better. The film has so far collected 24 crore nett and at the end of the week will it probably end at around 26.50 crore nett.

CHEHRE is doing poor business as collections on Monday should have been better due to Janmashtami. The film has collected 2.25 crore nett so far in four days.

CHAL MERA PUTT 2 was super strong on Monday with collections which were higher than day one and more or less the same as Saturday. It was a holiday for Janmashtami which aided the film but even without that, the film is on a strong run.
The film collected 1.10 crore nett on Monday and so far the total collections are 4.81 crore nett in four days and the grand total for the film is almost 7.75 crore nett. The film has done phenomenal business in Overseas despite limited business in Australia and no business in New Zealand.
The film has gone over the $1 million mark in four days with the film heading to be among the top three in UK of all time and may even end up as the second best ever. The collections are still being hit by the 50% occupancy rules as evening shows go full at many of the cinemas that it is released in.

CHAL MERA PUTT 2 scored heavily on Sunday as it recorded collections over 1.55 crore nett across India. The collections in East Punjab hit the 1.40 crore nett mark which is phenomenal considering the 50% occupancy rule and also because some important cinemas for the market are still shut.
The film saw full houses across Punjab on Sunday (on allowed occupancy) and the film was hitting near capacity levels at all the key properties. The weekend collections of the film were almost 3.75 crore nett which is more than the initial weekend when it released in March 2020. It was heading towards a 4.75 crore nett weekend then. So to do 3.75 crore nett nearly 18 months later with the restrictions is an outstanding result.
Its pretty sure that without these restrictions and all cinemas open it would have gone over the 4.75 crore nett. The film has also recorded unbelievable numbers in Overseas with records set in United Kingdom and Canada. There is a holiday in India and UK on Monday to give the film a further boost.

CHAL MERA PUTT 2 continued excellent collections on Saturday with 1.15 crore nett apprx. This has taken the film to over 2.15 crore crore in two days and over 5 crore nett if we count the little run it had before the pandemic. The numbers are extraordinary in all the cities in Punjab and you have to go back to WAR in 2019 to see higher numbers in these cities.
The film would be doing 20-25% more if it was not for the 50% occupancy rule as it is hitting business in evening and night shows which are going full across most places. Despite the capacity issues, Sunday should show growth as there is potential for the afternoon shows to collect more especially in the bigger multiplexes and on Sunday these should be full as well.
