BLACK ADAM has done decent business in India as it collects 40 crore nett in ten days and heads towards the 50 crore nett mark. The film had a reductions of shows in South on the second day itself while in other circuits, there was a reduction from Diwali onwards. But as the Hindi releases could not do well, it got better screenings and sustained pretty well.

Since the pandemic there have been five Hollywood films to cross 50 crore nett mark and they are GODZILLA VS. KONG, SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME, DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS, JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION and THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER. BLACK ADAM may well be the sixth film as it will continue to rack up decent numbers of Saturday and Sunday for a few weeks more.

The business of BLACK ADAM till date is as follows.

Friday - 1,50,00,000

Saturday - 2,25,00,000

Second Weekend - 6,10,00,000

BLACK ADAM has emerged a successful film as it continued to hold well on Tuesday despite a huge reduction in screens due to the Diwali releases. The film collected around 3 crore nett on Tuesday to take its total to almost 30 crore nett.

KANTARA (Hindi) is also a successful film as it collects around 25 crore till date and the Hindi version continues to do excellent business in Maharashtra and Bangalore. The film will collect a similar total in week two as it did in week one. Maharashtra will actually collect more in the second week.

The collections were limited outside Mumbai circuit and South as it hardly has screens now as there were new releases and appreciation is also less outside Maharashtra.

BLACK ADAM had a drop in collections on its second day as it collected 4.75 crore nett which is a fall of around 30%. But the drop was higher in South due to local new releases while Hindi circuits showed lesser falls.

This takes the film to 11.50 crore nett in two days and there should be a good jump in business today as circuits like Mumbai, Delhi/UP and even Mysore in South should show a big good jump. It remains to be seen if it can go back to the day one number.

There is a chance of bigger Saturday growth than normal not just for BLACK ADAM but other films also as some of the audience may come out on Saturday due to the match on Sunday. But it is pre Diwali weekend and sometimes audiences gets less as Diwali gets closer, especially in North.

BLACK ADAM took a decent opening of 6.50-6.75 crore nett on day one despite it being a Thursday release and in pre Diwali. The opening is the fifth highest post pandemic for Hollywood in India and all the films above it have stronger branding.

There will be a drop on day two as is always the case with a Thursday release unless Friday is a Holiday and then it should recover on Saturday as the families and kids come out. Sunday will be hit by the big India vs Pakistan cricket match but overall, it should see decent numbers of the extended weekend.

The numbers are decent across all circuits in the country for BLACK ADAM.
