Acting was a job that I never loved, nor this industry-Mandana Karimi

Rishabh Suri (HINDUSTAN TIMES; January 22, 2025)
Iranian actor-model Mandana Karimi, who gained fame for her stint in Bigg Boss 9 before her Bollywood outings such as Kya Kool Hai Hum 3 (2016) and Thar (2022), has now shifted her focus to academia. After studying interior design, she is actively working in the field and also serves as a visiting professor at various institutes.
“I became a model at such a young age and had to support myself but I always missed the fact that I couldn’t go back to school,” she shares, adding, “One of my friends owns an interior design firm and he asked if I want to see what they do. When I explored the field, I started enjoying it.”
Finally being in a career she enjoys, the 36-year-old admits, “Acting was a job that I never loved, nor this industry. I am grateful for the time I spent there, but it wasn’t something I was hungry for or crazy about.”
Since completing a year-long course in interior design, Karimi has been turning down modelling and acting offers.
“It is, of course, hard to say no to money. But I still have casting director friends who call me for auditions and I have to say I can’t devote so much time. I have projects, events, and my school that I’m focused on currently,” she shares.
Acknowledging this change from being an actor, to now going to school and “doing a 9 to 5 job”, she confesses: “I now finish my work in office, then come home, and go to school... My life has changed so much. But I’m loving it.”
People said I was stupid to quit TV for films when I was doing so well-Digangana Suryavanshi

Akash Wadhwa (BOMBAY TIMES; March 26, 2021)
After doing pretty well on TV with Ek Veer Ki Ardaas... Veera and Bigg Boss, Digangana Suryavanshi suddenly bid adieu to the small screen. “It is a conscious decision to not do TV shows as I can’t keep up with that commitment right now. Daily soaps require an investment of every single day. I decided this soon after Bigg Boss. I was 18 when I did the reality show, and then I wanted to explore and see how films turn out for me. I feel I have given a good part of my life to television, and that too at a very young age. It wasn’t that I did TV for a year or two and then stopped working on it. Of course, I knew films were not going to work out for me overnight. If I don’t want to do television shows, it doesn’t mean that I want to demean the medium. I still love TV and if something short term comes my way, I would definitely do it. I wouldn’t have been at a place where I am today without doing television. It is not that I have shut doors for TV,” she says.
So, does she still get offers for TV? “I do get offers for shows that are on air right now. I did get offers for shows with seasons, too. However, Indian TV shows with seasons are not really what they should ideally be. They go on for six months, nine months and, if the concept works, the shows just don’t end,” she shares.
Apart from featuring in Bollywood films, Digangana has done many movies down South as well. “I remember when I decided to do films after TV, I was called a fool by people around me. They were like, ‘Yeh kya pagal ladki hai’. People called me stupid to be quitting TV despite being in the cream layer of TV. After Bigg Boss, I had really amazing offers with a whopping amount. But I was sane enough to take such a big decision in my life because I had huge family support. Currently, I am working on The Battle Of Bhima Koregaon, where I am paired opposite Arjun Rampal.”
Nora Fatehi looks back at her plethora of item songs; shares exclusive details about her song in Bharat

Dancer-actress retraces her steps to chartbuster glory
Rohit Bhatnagar (MUMBAI MIRROR; August 14, 2018)
Indian-Moroccan dancer-actress Nora Fatehi, who made her acting debut in Kamal Sadanah’s 2014 horror feature Roar, has found firm footing in showbiz with special appearance songs. The 26-year-old actress retraces her dancing steps on screen:
Untitled, Bharat (2019)
I have a situational song in the Ali Abbas Zafar-directed period drama that forms the backdrop for my first meeting with Salman (Khan) in Malta. Sunil Grover, him, me, all of us are going to be dancing. I have yet to hear the song but Bharat is a film that is very different from the ones I have done so far. I’m prepping up for my role of a Spanish girl, which includes learning basic Spanish and working on my accent. I am in Malta for the next 20 days and happy that people are finally willing to work with me as both actor and dancer.
‘Dilbar’, Satyameva Jayate (2018)
When I learnt that I would be dancing to the reprised version of an iconic 1990s song from Sirf Tum, I not only jumped at the opportunity but felt a strong sense of responsibility as well. It required some belly-dancing, but I didn’t learn the dance form, it comes to me naturally. “Dilbar” has a very sensual and Arabic feel to it that people are enjoying.

‘Kamariya’, Stree (2018)
I started “Kamariya” before “Dilbar” and landed it because of the music video “Naah”, which I had done with Punjabi singer Hardy Sandhu. The song was very different from anything I had done earlier because I played a rural girl with a rustic look. It was good to experiment with styles and looks with the lyrics and beats reminiscent of massy Bollywood tracks making it a desi number that can be played at parties and get-togethers. Having “Dilbar” and “Kamariya” come out around the same time has helped me a lot.

‘Rock The Party’, Rocky Handsome (2016)
I shot this number before entering Bigg Boss 9 in 2015 but the release got pushed ahead and my song came out after my eviction from the house. I was still enjoying the buzz of my first commercial Bollywood song. John (Abraham, film’s lead) was encouraging and supportive, making sure I didn’t feel like an outsider. It was a party song and resonated with everyone but it didn’t make me an overnight star. I continued to struggle for a while.

‘Kukkurukuru’, Kick 2 (2015)
This song happened three years ago and was my second turn in South films. A massy number and high on dance, it has a rustic feel to it.
‘Manohari’, Baahubali (2015)
Baahubali was the biggest film I have even done so far and “Manohari” is a beautifully picturised song. It came to me when I was doing South films and every one of them was a hit. When I signed it, Baahubali was only in Tamil and Telugu. Later, Karan Johar got involved and it was dubbed in Hindi. Because of it’s success I got Bigg Boss and then Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, followed by popular music videos with Raftaar and Hardy.
It’s going to be a winter wedding for Prince Narula and Yuvika Chaudhary

Neha Maheshwri (BOMBAY TIMES; January 25, 2018)
“The day is special for me as it’s on January 23, two years ago, that I met Yuvika after stepping out of the Bigg Boss house as the winner. I have been pursuing her for two years, but she wanted to be sure about us. So, I gave her time and showered her with all my attention and love.”
However, the daily soap actor created enough drama just a week before the engagement. “I picked fights with her a week before I planned to exchange rings with her. I involved her mother in the plan, too. I told Yuvika that I wanted to end the relationship and she cried. But I didn’t relent as I wanted to make the day special for her. So, on January 23, I sprang a surprise on her by getting our families together and proposing to her with the ring. I had asked her mother to get a ring for me. Yuvika had tears in her eyes when I popped the question. She took really long to accept my proposal,” he says.
What about the reports of a secret engagement between the two that was doing the rounds? “I had given her a promise ring on February 14 last year, which she accepted in the name of friendship. I guess, that’s how the word spread,” he replies.
It will be a winter wedding for the couple and Prince’s family is already excited about welcoming the bahu-to-be. “They have started renovating our home in Punjab according to Yuvika’s taste and preferences. They are extremely fond of her,” he says.
While there have been several examples of reality television relationships falling apart soon after the show is over, Yuvika and Prince’s is an exception. “Once a reality show couple steps out into the real world, they get confused. Also, they are often dissuaded by their friends to not take the relationship ahead for the sake of their careers. However, that wasn’t the case with me. I am confident that I will get work if I work hard. My marital status won’t hamper my career. Initially, I was confused about us, as she didn’t respond to my proposal inside the Bigg Boss house. After her eviction, I started bonding with others, including girls. When she entered the house again for a special task, she complained that I didn’t wait for her. I then told her that I am willing to wait for her till eternity, if she gives me a definite answer. I don’t forge relationships to survive on reality shows. They are real. I am glad I realised that she is the one for me and now, we are all set to end up together,” he says..
So, what made him realise that Yuvika is the one for him? Prince replies, “Her caring attitude and the way she is with our families. She was by my side taking care of me when I fell ill. I was staying in a small apartment when she visited me to celebrate my Bigg Boss victory. Most people aspire for financially secure partners, but she values love above money.”
On her part, Yuvika adds, “Ours is quite a filmi story. His parents expressed the desire to have a bahu like me when he was inside the house. Later, they met my family with the proposal. However, my parents weren’t sure at that point as Prince was young, and they feared that he would walk away, eventually. After we became friends, he told my parents that he likes me and took their permission to spend time with me and understand me better. It took me a long time to accept his proposal. He made me believe in love. He is popular on TV and could have easily used the relationship for publicity, but he quashed all my preconceived notions about him. He has seen me in my worst times, but has stuck around. He is younger to me by a few years, but he took it as a good sign (laughs). He told me that his mother is also older than his father.”

Natasha Coutinho (MUMBAI MIRROR; January 25, 2018)
The couple, who first met on a reality show three years ago, got engaged in the presence of family.
Actor-VJ Prince Narula got engaged to actress-girlfriend Yuvika Chaudhary on Monday in the city after a surprise proposal over dinner. The couple had met as contestants on the ninth season of the TV show Bigg Boss in 2015, which Prince won.
“My parents had come down to Mumbai so I planned to propose to Yuvika in the presence of both our families. I called up her mother and told her about my plan because I wanted to ask her parents for her hand. I took everyone out for dinner and presented her with the ring,” Prince tells Mirror, adding that he had been open about his feelings for the actress right since their Bigg Boss days but Yuvika took time to come around. “It has been three years now and I decided it was time for a marriage proposal.”
For his fiancee, the gesture is yet to sink in. “I thought it was just a dinner with both our parents. I have been checking out my engagement ring in the mirror ever since. I took my time in saying ‘yes’ to Prince because guys are always enthusiastic about these things while girls are more sensible. Prince never forced me into a relationship and respected my feelings,” she beams.
Recalling their first encounter, she says, “I had refused to do the show for the previous two seasons but signed the contract just a few hours before its season nine launch. I figured Bigg Boss wasn’t for me and I’d be out of the house in a week. Now, I realise I did that show so I could meet Prince.” Yuvika also admits that she didn’t know of her Prince Charming before the show. “I never watched Roadies and I didn’t know he was a youth icon. I took my time to get to know him and he took it as a ‘no’ yet kept pursuing me. I was impressed when he convinced my family. Only then I realised how serious he was.” When is D-Day? “There are no immediate plans. Let the engagement sink in first,” she says.
'Principal sponsor' Balaji Motion Picture refuses to extend Mandana Karimi's work permit

Ekta Kapoor’s company is reportedly no longer backing the Iranian actress at her in-laws’ behest
Meena Iyer (MUMBAI MIRROR; July 20, 2017)
Mandana Karimi, who is doing the rounds of Mumbai courts after filing a domestic violence case (Mirror, July 5) against businessman husband of four months, Gaurav Gupta, has landed in a fresh soup. Mirror has learnt that time is running out on the Iranian model-actress’s India sojourn. “When she recently turned up for one of the court hearings, she requested the bench to fast-track the proceedings because she couldn’t stay in India for too long,” an insider revealed.
Mandana, who rose to fame with a stint on Bigg Boss 9 in 2015 that paved way for Hindi films like Bhaag Johnny and Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 and a guest spot in the Arjun Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandez-starrer Roy, has been in India on a work permit. And the last two times it came up for renewal, it was facilitated by Balaji Motion Pictures because she was working on their January 2016 release Kyaa Kool… Previously, Balaji, Mandana’s ‘principal sponsor’, had been instrumental in negotiating the contract for Bigg Boss.
Post marriage, she discontinued working, and was quoted as saying, “The decision was made at my husband’s behest.” Now, it has emerged that her sponsor has decided not to renew her work permit. Buzz is, the Guptas who own a company that specializes in post-production work and VFX and worked on Balaji’s Azhar, the Emraan Hashmi-starrer biopic of former Indian skipper Mohammed Azharuddin, pressurized the latter to do so, arguing that the actress is not working with them anymore.
In the last couple of weeks, Mandana has been running from pillar to post to arrange for an extension on her work permit. Mirror tried reaching out to Mandana and Balaji but both parties chose not to comment.
Salman Khan told me to cut my hair during Bigg Boss 9-Digangana Suryavanshi

Bigg Boss 9 contestant and Veera actress Digangana
Suryavanshi has cut off her Rapunzel-style knee-length long hair, thanks
to Salman Khan.
Digangana walked out of hairstylist Colleen Khan’s salon having reduced the length of her mane by 19 inches! The TV actress was thrilled, “Salman Sir told me to cut my hair during the show. At the time, I took it in jest but later, again he told me that it would make a world of difference to my look and also my career. I am so happy that I cut my hair. I’m loving the new look. Everyone is liking my new look, too. Whatever Salman Sir suggests, he’s pretty bang-on. He has also told me to get fitter and build a more toned body. I am not overweight but yes, I can be fitter. Sir is very transparent in his opinions. In this world, where no one gives a damn, such advice is heartwarming. I am truly thankful to him.”
It was a huge decision because this is the first time she has ever cut her hair. Diggie, as she is fondly called by friends, reveals, “I’m 18 and have never cut my hair in all these years. In fact, my mother has been working to ensure I had great hair from even before I was born. It is said that if a pregnant woman eats a baasi roti (cooked overnight) with ghee in the morning, the child born is blessed with great hair. So, my mom did that when she was carrying me. When I was considering Salman Sir’s suggestion, I spoke to my parents and they were convinced about the decision too. After the cut, Ashley Rebello sent him a picture and he said it was superb.”
All these years she has been adamant about not cutting her hair and had even refused to trim her hair when had to sport shorter hair for her daily soap, Veera. “I used to fold my hair to make it look short. I tried to avoid wigs as much as I could in those two years,” she says.
Tell her that her new hairdo is similar to that of Bhagyashree in Maine Pyaar Kiya and she laughs, “I feel Bhagyashree had bouncier hair than me. I feel my do is similar to Ayesha Takia’s.” Ask if she fancies a role opposite Salman and she laughs, “I am hoping for the best. As of now, there is nothing to talk about. I don’t want to lie (laughs). I am focusing on my look. He told me on the show that I was a sensible lady and could do better. And that’s what I want to work towards.”

Sanyukta Iyer (MUMBAI MIRROR; January 28, 2016)
Bigg Boss Salman Khan invited the contestants of the reality show which ended its ninth season last Saturday for a day-long celebration at his Panvel farmhouse. Winner Prince Narula arrived with fellow contestants, Kishwer Merchant, Mandana Karimi, Nora Fatehi, Suyyash Rai, Priya Malik, Rishabh Sinha and Keith Sequeira. Rochelle Rao arrived with her family.
"We had been invited for lunch but the bash went on way past sunset. The day began with Salman sir introducing us to his horses, all 10 of them," recalls Kishwer, adding that Bhai made sure they remembered the names of his four-legged buddies, and when a contestant mixed up the names, he re-introduced them and raised an eyebrow every time someone pointed at his ghodas identifying them by their colour rather than their names... Prem, Rajkummar, Bajrangi, Bhaijaan. "The horses get so excited when they see him, they absolutely love him and are his fans."
The farmhouse is also home to dogs, cats and poultry. The gamers returned home with picture perfect mementoes. "I got the coolest selfie with the most humble human being," gushed Nora, Suyyash described it as "unshakeable gunda trio".
After the lavish buffet, Sallu's guests got to check out his mountain bike collection which they rode around Arpita Farms. His family left in the evening but Sallu asked his Bigg Boss stars to stay back for dinner. "It was a leisurely meal with everyone telling Sallu how he had changed their lives. I've always been an SRK fan but now I am Salman's greatest fan. The way he explained life and all the things that happen along the way, is wonderful. He's the most beautiful human being, I love him," says Kishwer.
My being locked up inside Bigg Boss house was best publicity for KKHH3-Mandana Karimi

Iranian beauty Mandana
Karimi, who got out of Bigg Boss (BB) on Saturday night after being
locked up for three-and-a-half months, started promoting Kyaa Kool Hain
Hum 3, that is directed by Umesh Ghadge with Tusshar and Aftab
Shivdasani in the lead, just a few hours later.
The first thing you notice on seeing her walk in your direction is that her bikini curves are missing! She has lost five kilos during the reality show ordeal, but her face unmistakably wears a pretty pink glow. So have you seen KKHH 3? “No,“ she wails, “I got to bed at 5 am and I have just been told that I have a screening of my movie for the Bigg Boss gang. So I guess, I too will see the film with them.“
Ask her whether she fretted over Ekta Kapoor's court case against her and Mandana replies, “At first, I didn't understand the implication. When you are locked up, it is hard to keep up with the news. However, when I learnt about it from Tusshar and Aftab who came on my show, I knew that I wasn't in the wrong. I had signed a contract to stay inside the house till I was evicted and everyone knew that. I guess no one believed that I would survive the entire duration.“ But wasn't it foolish on her part to miss the promotions of her first big Bollywood release? “To the contrary,“ she replies, “Being locked up inside the BB house was godsend. For 105 days, I was top of mind for hundreds of thousands across the globe. That according to me is the best publicity for the film.“
Ask her whether she is upset at having lost out to Prince Narula and she says, “No, I think I'm a winner. During my 105-day stay, I won 11 nominations and survived eviction till the end. That means I am already a winner. I met so many fans when I got out and all of them said, 'Mandana, we respect you because you are a strong woman. You managed beautifully inside the house despite all the odds being stacked against you.“ Her face breaks into a big smile as she says, “In my head, I was also Bigg Boss' favourite. However, Salman Khan is a very fair host and he never shows his bias.“
Talking of how she is going to miss the reality show for a long time to come, the actress continues, “I loved being on the show. Though I had no friends in the house and was perhaps the most hated person inside, I will miss everything from the swimming pool to the kitchen. I will miss those cameras and tasks. However, what I will miss most are my chats with the Bigg Boss.“
Suddenly, tears stream down her rosy cheeks and when you tease her that she was labelled the cry baby of the show and accused of weeping copiously for TRPs, she petulantly quips “I'm a sensitive girl, not a dramebaaz. Even Bigg Boss understood that.“
One hears that the first thing she got after she came out of BB was a big hug from her boyfriend. “Yes, that's true,“ she says, “Inside the house, no one gave me any hugs or presents. As you know, people kept their distance from me. Even when I took ill, I got no visitors. I truly missed getting affection. But when I came out, my boyfriend (Gaurav Gupta) gave me a warm hug. It was very emotional.“

Bigg Boss 9: Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan paint a pretty picture together?

Salman Khan ensured that
there was plenty of excitement on set when Katrina Kaif arrived in
Lonavala on Saturday for the finale of the ninth season of his reality
show. “The shoot began only in the afternoon around 4 pm since Salman
was busy rehearsing till late in the night. Katrina along with Aditya
Roy Kapur, Tabu and the director of their upcoming film, Abhishek
Kapoor, arrived at around 1 pm and headed straight to Salman's chalet
where they spent a couple of hours before heading to the set with
Salman's rumoured steady date, Iulia
Vantur, sitting in the audience,“ informs a source from the sets.
Once they were on camera, Sallu challenged Aditya, who plays a painter in his next, to draw a portrait of Katrina. While Aditya chose to draw only her eyes, Salman drew a pretty picture that left everyone impressed. In between shots, he and Kat were spotted deep in conversation. The host insisted that mics were switched off at the time.
Once they were back in the spot light, he reminded everyone that Valentine's Day was approaching and with a laugh wondered if everyone had a date. Kat responded with a smile. “He even jokingly warned Aditya not to get too close to Kat as he's protective about her,“ added the source, saying that after the shoot wrapped up Tabu, Aditya and Abhishek stayed back and partied in Salman's chalet but Kat chose to leave for Mumbai immediately.

I have feelings for Nora Fatehi and will pursue her-Prince Narula

Chaya Unnikrishnan (DNA; January 25, 2016)
He was strong and aggressive from the time he entered
the show. Known both for fighting and flirting with his co-contestants,
Prince Narula who has already won two reality shows — Roadies and
Splitsvilla — had a competitive streak, and focussed on succeeding in
every task. Even former contestants of this season bet on him beating
the other finalists. Over to Prince...
This is the third reality show after Splitsvilla and Roadies that you are winning. Which has been more challenging?
Winning and losing are part of a game and every win motivates you to do better and surge higher. All the shows have their own place.
What were the high points and low points for you in the house?
The low was when Kishwer (Merchantt) left the show. The high was the fun I had during the task where we had to sit in a car for 44 hours and I was pulling the girls’ legs.
Kishwer was hurt that you did not mention even once that you would opt out in the ticket to finale task?
Actually, I did but that was edited out. In the one hour that we were given to discuss which of us will opt out it was Kishwer who urged me to stay. We were sure that either of us will win, but Kishwer said she will leave because I had already won two shows and had a good connect with the youth. Not only that she spoke positively about me even after she came out of the house. I considered her my sister in the house and that relationship will continue even outside.
Salman Khan took you to task quite a few times, especially during the task with Kishwer...
Yes, but he did that to point out where I was going wrong and guide me. He did that with everybody and treated all on par. He is the best host and there’s no fun in the show without him.
Initially, you came across as aggressive...
Yes, but I would also be the first one to apologise. When you are walking on the road and somebody annoys you, you can fight and move on or you can ignore him, but in the house you have to stay with that person whether you like it or not.
You were seen flirting with Yuvika Choudhary and Nora Fatehi....
(Cuts in) Yuvika is a friend but I have feelings for Nora and will pursue her now that I am out. Nora entered the house at a time when I was feeling low. She tried to bolster my spirit saying people outside liked me and I was popular and that I should continue to be strong. She brought positive vibes with her and I liked her.
Who did you think were your competitors?
Rochelle was good. Even Mandana who from day one said that she was playing a game.
What next? Any aspirations to do films?
I have signed a fiction show. It’s a love story set in college. After that I will try for films.
Any other reality show in the pipeline?
Nothing this year, but Khatron Ke Khiladi is something I have been wanting to do.
What are you planning to do with amount you have won?
Of the Rs 35 lakhs, I will donate Rs 5 lakhs to Being Human and give the rest to my father.

Prince Narula, who won the ninth season of a reality show, comes clean on his romance with a fellow inmate
Natasha Coutinho (MUMBAI MIRROR; January 25, 2016)
I never cared what any of them thought about me. The audience, especially youngsters, loved me. I gave my all to the tasks and successfully changed people's perception of me.
You first proposed to Yuvika Chaudhary on the show and later romanced Nora Fatehi. Was it all for the cameras and TRPs?
What happened with Nora was for real. We'll see how it works out outside the house. I'm still friends with Yuvika, there was some misunderstanding and she was eliminated, so that relationship did not blossom.
Were you upset that your 'sister', Kishwer Merchant, had to leave the show so that you could stay on?
I was depressed after Kishwer took the money and left but I figured that since I had won two shows (Splitsvilla and Roadies) earlier and had a strong fan base, it'd be better if I stayed on.
Did you expect to beat strong competitors like Rochelle, Mandana and Rishabh?
I was surprised when Mandana was evicted as she was a strong, aggressive competitor. I was even more surprised when she said she hoped I'd win.
Previous winners haven't been able to make much of a headway, what are your plans?
I'll make my own destiny. Before entering the house I signed two shows for two channels. I'm moving to fiction now and begin shooting soon. And I have donated Rs 5 lakh to Salman's Being Human charity for earthquake relief in a bid to do my bit for society.

tells us about his plans for the Rs 35 lakh prize money, his equation
with the housemates and the 16 kilos that he has shed in the house.
Excerpts:
WILL BE GOING TO THE GOLDEN TEMPLE TO THANK GOD FOR THE WIN
“I won't take a break. I'll start working soon. I will be going to the Golden Temple and Nakodar Sahib to thank God. I went there before participating in Mr Punjab, Roadies, Splitsvilla and Bigg Boss. I think wohi lucky charm hai (that is my lucky charm). My mom and dad are my good luck charms, too. I am also planning a vacation with Kishwer Merchant and Suyyash Rai before their wedding,“ he tells us. Ask him his plans for the prize money and he says, “I have donated Rs 5 lakh to Salman Khan's Being Human. I will buy something for my dad with what's left.“
I WAS THE CAPTAIN OF THE HOUSE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF TIMES
“I played the game in such a way that I wouldn't get evicted from the house before the finale. I knew that I won't have to leave because of lack of audience votes. Even the contestants were scared and didn't nominate me. In these three-and-a-half months, I was in the danger zone just thrice, and I was made the captain of the house three times, which is an achievement,“ he smiles.
I WILL BE SPENDING A LOT OF TIME WITH NORA
“Everyone thinks that the relationships formed on reality shows are fake. When we came out of Splitsvilla, Anukhi and I lost touch. Then I came to Bigg Boss and met Yuvika (Chaudhary). I told her that I liked her, but she asked me to focus on the show, and I backed off thinking that I was forcing her. After she left, Nora came and brought a lot of positivity. We actually have a connection. Yuvika is a good friend now. I will spend a lot of time with Nora so that we get to know each other. Falling in love is quite easy when you are in the house, but you get to know a person only when you step out. Nora and I are alike in quite a lot of ways,“ he says.
He was also given the title of 'Emraan Hashmi' for serial kissing on television. “I love this tag. I used to kiss people when they performed well, and even when they didn't. I am happy with the tag,“ he adds.
WILL FOCUS ON ACTING NOW
After his reality show streak, Prince says he wants to take up acting. “I will start trying for films. Before signing this reality series, I had signed two shows, so I will take them up,“ he says.
I CREDIT THIS WIN TO KISHWER
What sealed Prince's place in the finale was the task where Kishwer and Prince had to decide who would exit the house between them. Kishwer sacrificed her place for Prince. “I think they only showed a small chunk. We had decided that she should exit by taking Rs 15 lakh and I would win the Rs 35 lakh prize money. Kishwer told me that I had an advantage because I had won reality shows before this and have a young fan following. I credit my win to Kishwer. When it was announced that I won the show, I gave the trophy to her. That decision worked for both of us. But Kishwer was the toughest competitor,“ he adds.
I USED TO HATE SUYYASH AND KISHWER INITIALLY
In the first episode, when the contestants were being paired, no one wanted to pair up with Prince. He elaborates, “I told them, 'tum logon ne galti kari thi ki bina jaane judge kar liya' (you people committed a mistake by judging me without knowing me). All those people knew each other because they belong to the industry. When they saw me performing the tasks, they were scared. “Initially, I used to hate Suyyash and Kishwer because Suyyash Rai asked her not to pair up with me, but inside the house, we bonded really well because we belong to Chandigarh and Kishwer was like a sister.“

This weekend, the actress features in the finale of the reality show that he hosts
Natasha Coutinho (MUMBAI MIRROR; January 22, 2016)
With only four inmates left in the fray, the ninth season of Bigg Boss is nearing its finale, which promises to grab eyeballs, with Katrina Kaif making an appearance. After several rounds of will-she-won't-she, it has been confirmed that Kat will join host Salman Khan to promote her upcoming film. She's been rehearsing the songs she will be performing with Aditya Roy Kapur.
Buzz is, the 32-year-old actress had initially backed out in a bid to appease beau Ranbir Kapoor who was reportedly miffed about her meeting Salman on the sets of his upcoming film. A week later, the two were spotted partying with Ali Abbas Zafar on his birthday. However, Mirror has learnt that she is all set to drive down to Lonavala on Saturday with Aditya. The episode will be shot that day and aired at night. The duo will spend some time with the inmates and Sallu "As of now she's on for Saturday," says a source.
The film's spokesperson confirmed saying, "The team is going to promote it on Bigg Boss. The producers have tied up with the reality show in a big way."
I would like Rochelle Rao or Mandana Karimi to win Bigg Boss 9-Sunny Leone

Former BB contestant Sunny Leone says she wants a woman to win the show
Melissa D’Costa D’silva (DNA; January 22, 2016)
Mastizaade girl Sunny Leone dropped in to the office
the other day. We talked about entering the Bigg Boss house again, her
favourite contestant, and her plans for 2016. Excerpts from the
interview.
Your three wishes for 2016...
That my movies do well. I am not talking superhit crazy. Just that they do well and they don’t get torn apart, which would be nice. Also, I started merchandising last year. There are a few more things we are putting together this year. I’d like to see that take off. Other than the movies, there are so many other things that I do and that our company does and my husband tries to make sure we do. What are we doing to brand ourselves? What are we doing to grow our business? That’s something I am looking to, hopefully, conceptualise for the next six months. The third thing I wish for is that all my friends and family stay healthy.
Do you think reality shows are here to stay or have reached saturation point?
I don’t think reality TV is going anywhere. It might change direction, maybe. They might tweak something, but I don’t think it will ever go away because it’s so interesting. And that’s anywhere in the world. It does not matter if it’s India or abroad. I think people enjoy it. It just has to start transforming, based on what people’s needs are.
Are you watching the current season of Bigg Boss?
I don’t get to watch a lot of TV. We are always working. We are always on set. Either you are in your car, on set, promotions, shootings and all these different things. So when I am in India, it’s nothing but work, so I don’t get to watch. So when I go back to the US and I want to type in the episode. And what happens is, we are geoblocked. So all the shows that I want to catch up on, I can’t watch. So that’s why I have not been keeping up with it. Even though I haven’t seen the whole season. There’s only a couple of days left. You get so interested in what’s going on in the house and the characters and all the good things that have happened. There are only a couple of days left. You get so interested in what’s going on in the house and the characters and the good things that have happened. When I was there on the show, they talked about all the good things that happened over the course of time and some of the things that weren’t that fun. It’s amazing how addicted you can get in seconds, if you like reality television, which I do.
Mandana and you seem to have a lot in common. Now there are talks about Endemol offering her a movie.
That’s nice. She seemed very sweet and nice when I went to the show. I knew two of the boys but I did not know the girls and I did not know Keith. You never know what you’re walking into — like people’s personalities — but I was welcomed with open arms.
Was it crazy going in front of all those cameras again?
You know I got to see a little bit of how they set it up. I was led through the camera lanes behind the house. It’s really interesting to see how it works and how many people are involved. You feel so bad for the contestants. Oh my gosh! these guys are stuck in the house for four months and they are without anything. But you have to think about the staff, the people that are operating those cameras. Everybody is stuck in the same area and the only difference is they have access to the outside world. It’s amazing!
Any favourites you are rooting for?
Since, I have not seen it. I am not sure how people will react. My opinion is based on the one meeting and knowing Rishabh and friends. I really like Rochelle and Mandana. They were really very sweet and nice and of course, as a woman you want a woman to win. And I thought Rishabh was really entertaining. You know when he was in Splitsvilla, he got banished. So, I did not really get to see all of these sides to his personality because very early in the show he had got banished and he was not part of a lot of the activities that we were doing. He was really funny, really entertaining. He took to instruction very easily with an open mind, so it was nice.
Who are your favourites on the show?
My faves would be Prince and Rishabh, but after meeting them, I would like Rochelle or Mandana to win because they are women.
Still in touch with Juhi?
I am still in touch with Juhi and Pooja off and on, but not Sky.
Katrina Kaif is trying hard to sort out differences with Ranbir Kapoor?

Last week, the break-up rumours were further fuelled when Kat was spotted at the same party as her ex, Salman Khan. Soon after, though, the actress issued a statement through her spokesperson rubbishing the reports and called it a meeting by chance. Now, in a bigger step, she is believed to have decided against promoting her next, Fitoor on the finale of Salman-hosted reality show, Bigg Boss despite having committed earlier.
Sources close to the production team of Fitoor claim that Kat took it upon herself to lead the promotional blitzkrieg from the front while the makers wanted director Abhishek Kapoor to take the onus, considering that he has a way with words. “Katrina feels Fitoor is a special film for her and so, she wants to go all out to promote it. The plan comprised visiting the sets of TV shows including Bigg Boss. But Ranbir was not in favour of her being part of a show where Salman would be present. He had skipped going on Bigg Boss during the publicity campaign of Tamasha while his co-star and ex-flame, Deepika Padukone went alone. Recently, they had a huge fight over her committing to go on the show. So, Kat has now reconsidered her decision to placate her beau,” says a source.
A source working on the show said Katrina has informed the producers that she wouldn’t be able to make it since she has other commitments. The channel's spokesperson and Katrina remained unavailable for comment.
Another reason for the couple’s tiff is attributed to the delayed schedule of Anurag Basu’s Jagga Jasoos, in which they have been paired together. It is also Ranbir’s first venture as a co- producer. “He wanted her to join him for a week-long schedule at Mehboob Studio in Bandra. Since both Fitoor and Jagga Jasoos have the same film studio on board, Ranbir felt sorting Kat’s dates would not be a problem. But she wanted to focus solely on Fitoor till its release. That upset him since the project has been already delayed and postponing the schedule would have made it difficult for them to release it this June,” explains a source.
On Tuesday night, the two were spotted at the same event, but not together. Ranbir made an entry with his father, veteran actor Rishi Kapoor while Katrina came in with co-star Aditya Roy Kapur. Post the show, the actor went to his flat at Wilson Apartments on Hill Road while Kat drove into her old house in Waterfield Road.
But if sources are to be believed, the tiff may not last long as the actress is doing everything possible to save the ruptured relationship for a happily-ever-after.
Bigg Boss 9 makers are hoping that Mandana Karimi will sign their film Viral

Sunny Leone holds the distinction of being offered a film, while still in the Bigg Boss 9 house. Mahesh Bhatt had gone in the house and promised to sign her for one of his productions. Now it looks like the same will happen for Mandana Karimi. The production house behind Bigg Boss 9 wants to sign her for their film Viral. Says a source, “Viral is an anthology of stories about how technology and social networks has changed the lives of people, and how the youth of today handle their friendship and relationships. The producers wants her to play to the protagonist and will approach her with the script the moment she comes out of the house. If she agrees, they will make the announcement at a press conference held at the show’s finale this weekend.”
Ram Mirchandani, from Endemol, confirms, “We are hoping that the script is something she would be very excited about. We are very sure that she won’t be able to say no to it. Of course, being producers will help the matter.”
I decided to opt out. I was the bigger person-Kishwer Merchant

Kishwer Merchant, who opted to leave Bigg Boss 9 with Rs 15 lakhs during the ‘ticket to finale’ task, had earlier said that fellow contestant Prince Narula is coming across as overconfident and that might not let him win the show. However, when asked about it, she denies it. “On the contrary, I want Prince to win the show. He is the only strong contender left. Yes, certain things happened between us where I felt he was wrong — no doubt I was hurt that he did not even once during the task say that he would leave. That was wrong considering the relationship we shared (like brother-sister). I would never speak like that about him,” says Kishwer. As for the reason she opted out, she says, “After 22 hours of the task, we thought Bigg Boss would cancel it, but after realising that none of us were giving up, he gave us an hour’s time to speak to each other and decide. If we had not taken a call, the housemates would have decided who among us would leave the show and I did not want to give them that right. Since Prince didn’t mention about leaving, I decided to opt out. I was the bigger person.”

BOMBAY TIMES (January 13, 2016)
Salman Khan is on the wish list of many filmmakers. Divya Khosla Kumar not only directed him for an emotional scene, but
also made him groove to the song, Humne pee rakhi hai, from her upcoming
film Sanam Re. The musical romance, produced by Bhushan Kumar and
featuring Pulkit Samrat, Yami Gautam and Urvashi Rautela (Yamaha Fascino
Miss Diva-Miss
Universe India 2015), is a Valentine's weekend release.
While promoting her second directorial venture with Pulkit on Bigg Boss, Divya got the reality show host to perform an emotional scene from the film with her lead actor. Salman played Pulkit, who, in turn, essayed the role of Yami. They enacted the part where Pulkit and Yami confess their love for each other. Pulkit was reportedly feeling a bit shy to look the superstar in the eye while acting out this emotional scene. Later, the filmmaker also joined the two actors in shaking a leg to Humne pee rakhi hai from her movie.
Towards the end of the episode, Salman and Pulkit also danced to O O Jaane Jaana, one of the former's hit number from the 90s.
Sanam Re, produced by T-Series, releases on February 12.

Ekta Kapoor to sue Mandana Karimi for not not adhering to her contract

Sanyukta Iyer (MUMBAI MIRROR; January 12, 2016)
Iranian actress Mandana Karimi has been the talk of the town thanks to her micro-mini bikini antics, both inside and outside the Bigg Boss house. But now, Mirror has learnt, that her complete absence of time management skills have rubbed the makers of her upcoming film, Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3, the wrong way.
"Mandana is one of the film's leading ladies, opposite Aftab Shivdasani and Tusshar Kapoor, and her contract has a clause that requires her to allot at least 10 days for the film's promotions. Before going on the reality show, she paid producer Ekta Kapoor a visit and was clearly informed that the film would release anytime between January and February. But she has made no effort to come out of the house and honour her agreement," informed a disgruntled source from the production house.
Mandana, who was seen in blink-and-miss appearances in Roy, Bhaag Johnny and Main Aur Charles, has a three-film contract with the production house. "We are happy that the TV show has made her popular but Mandana has contractually committed to us and will have to adhere by it. She had signed with us much before entering the house," informed CEO of Balaji Motion Pictures, Aman Gill.
MEANWHILE...
Another producer comes to the actress's rescue
Filmmaker Anand Kumar, who rolls with a film based on social media, Viral, next month however is super impressed with the leggy Mandana and is all set to cast her as the lead. "She is bold, beautiful, text-savvy and will connect with today's youngsters who are using Skype, Tinder, Whatsapp. Today, communication is all about sharing pictures and sending the same selfie to 10 people around you. But the young boy in my film is a novice to social communication and the story is about how all this affects him," informs the writer-producer who plans to shoot in Delhi, Mumbai and Goa, beginning next month. "I'm waiting for Mandana to finish her stint in the Bigg Boss house before finalising the modalities and locking her dates."
ABCD actor Raghav Juyal, known for his slow-motion, break dance moves, is opposite her. Raghav's character compiles all his experiences with social media into a book, Viral, which explains the title," adds Anand.
